Tires, the bridge between vehicles and roads, play an unparalleled role in both performance and safety. In everyday use, the tire health is often neglected, with factors such as tread depth, inflation pressure, and tire damage overlooked by most users, leading to ∼30% of cars in developed nations, operating with underinflated tires, a situation exacerbated in developing nations. Hence, innovations such as tire Pressure Monitoring Systems have become imperative. The objective of the current work is to develop an economical, direct, on-board tire pressure monitor for automotive tire health upkeep. This is achieved through the integration of a pressure sensor and transmitter with an Arduino, and wireless transmission of the data to the dashboard display. While the initial model, tested on a bicycle, effectively displayed tire pressure on the handlebar-mounted LCD screen with an accompanying LED indicating deviations from the standard pressure, the current design has lot of scope for improvement by the utilization of a wireless technologies for the pressure sensors for continuous monitoring of tire pressures in a range of vehicles from two-wheelers to heavy vehicles.

AbstractThe incidence of chromosomal aberrations were evaluated in the lymphocytes of peripheral blood of 40 persons working in different dental colleges and clinics in and around Bangalore occupationally exposed to X-rays. The age range of the study group was 25-65yrs and duration of exposure of dental personnel ranged from 5-35yrs. For comparison blood samples were also collected from 20 subjects (controls) who were not exposed to any diagnostic radiations. The radiographers showed a significant increase of chromosomal aberrations (mean of 1.00) when compared to controls (mean of 0.50). Though dental personnel showed increase in frequency of chromosomal aberrations but the results were not statistically significant. Frequency of chromosomal aberrations was also compared on bases of age, gender and duration of exposure, results were not statistically significant.

Synthesis, crystal structures, linear and nonlinear optical properties of tris D–π–A cryptand derivatives with C₃ symmetry are reported. Three fold symmetry inherent in the cryptand molecules has been utilized for designing these molecules. Molecular nonlinearities have been measured by hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) experiments. Among the compounds studied, L₁ adopts non-centrosymmetric crystal structure. Compounds L₁, L₂, L₃ and L₄ show a measurable SHG powder signal. These molecules are more isotropic and have significantly higher melting points than the classical p-nitroaniline based dipolar NLO compounds, making them useful for further device applications. Besides, different acceptor groups can be attached to the cryptand molecules to modulate their NLO properties.

For this purpose, the noticeable broadening of the meridional reflection at 3.2 Å was used as a marker to quantify the disorder, induced in the linear array of base pairs as one travels along the helical axis of DNA molecule.

The review paper intends to offer a systematic review of various personality models used in the area of behavioral finance to determine the characteristics of investors. This review paper aims to understand various personality models, their origin, development along the practical application while providing an overview of advantages and critics. In addition, we present an overview of measurement instruments and the adaptation of these models across various fields of study in recent time. This might help future researchers in determining an appropriate personality model suitable for their study.

The crystal and molecular structure of the self‐complementary A‐DNA decamer sequence d(G4CGC4) was solved at 1.9 Å resolution. The decamer crystallizes in space group P21with two independent duplexes in the asymmetric unit. Duplex 1 has interactions which are distributed symmetrically about its length compared with duplex 2. The two end base pairs of duplex 1 have a similar NHO hydrogen‐bond pattern involving GGC segments of duplex 2 and a symmetry‐related neighbour, while the end base pairs of duplex 2 interact with the GCC and GGG segments of its symmetry‐related neighbours through NHO and NHN hydrogen bonds and a water‐mediated hydrogen bond between the carboxyl groups of C40 and C8. In addition to the C4′–C5′ torsion angle γ assuming the transconformation in certain steps, this angle also adopts the gauche−conformation at C37 as opposed to the preferred gauche+conformation, with a concomitant change in phosphodiester P—O5′ (α) in the opposite sense. This facilitates stacking between adjacent bases. The study suggests that the structural alterations in the two molecules in the asymmetric unit originate from an inherent propensity of the d(G4CGC4) base sequence for varied intermolecular interactions and malleability.
