Tribes, a cognate group of people, featuring some amount of cultural and linguistic homogeneity. They are the integral part of our civilization and having rich distinct cultural heritage. According to the 2011 census, tribal people constitute 8.6% of the nation's total population. The total Scheduled Tribe population of Kerala, as per latest census (2011) is 4,84,839 which constitute 1.45% of the total population of the State and it has 37 Scheduled Tribes recognized by the Government. The present paper tries to find out the Phonological aspects of language of Uraly Tribal Community. A brief description of the general Demographic profiling of the community is also given for the statistic understanding of the community. Present work is focused on the Uraly tribal community in the Idukki district. Based on descriptive phonological analysis, total number of Vowels and Consonants is listed and their distribution, gemination, cluster formation, etc., are also mentioned. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Algonquian-speaking peoples create, used, and made images which are subdivided into three groups. These images were occurred on a variety of objects to communicate information, meanings. It is known that only the Mide, their ritual and medicinal specialists (shaman), used a specific group of these images, those on birch bark scrolls. Four birchbark scrolls were examined using the same techniques that were applied to the pictograph sites (rock art sites) of Lake of the Woods to establish whether images should be understood as groups or individual elements as they serve as an illustration to counterpoint the pictograph sites. Academic interpretations of shamanism in the West have oscillated between the sociological and the cultural. Anchored in an anecdotal case study of a Senegalese marabout, a less equivocally ethnocentric approach is here proposed in terms of cultures as Projects (or Wholes) which, on account of their irreducibly particular projects (or peculiar parts), appear sometimes marginally convergent but (on the whole) are often radically divergent. This paper outlines challenges and requirements for developing tools and services supporting automated generation, management, evolution, and execution of Data Management Plans (DMPs) by reviewing Research Data Management (RDM)processes in the light of using the method of Knowledge-based and Process-oriented Innovation Management (German: Wissenbasiertes Prozessorientiertes Innovations management, WPIM) to represent and Collaborative Production Process Planning (CAPP) to structure them. The reviewed models include the Open Archive Information System (OAIS, ISO 14721, ISO 16363) Information Model and the Extended Information Model. In this way, the targeted approach is able to support various types of processes, domains, and organizations and package the relevant context information related to a data object by serializing them using the Open Archives Initiative Object Reuse and Exchange (OAI-ORE) format specification. The medical clown, the dramatherapist, the traditional healer and the witchdoctor each conduct a dramatic, theatrical healing performance with the objective of healing the ill in their community. Their healing ability lies in their capacity of being intermediaries between different worlds, between chaos and order, and between the factors which caused and accelerated the illness and healing and mental powers. Each healer, using his own unique practice embodied in the perception of reality in their community, facilitates accessibility to healing powers to benefit those who are ill. Abstract: Traumatically induced skeletal injuries are common and can be ascribed to a normal range of events occurring in an individual's lifetime. A subset of these trauma-induced injuries provides enhanced insight into cultural history. Such cases might include those referable to medico-surgical and religious/ritualistic practices. We describe prehistoric evidence and cultural implications of the traumatic insertion of an Ursus manual phalanx into the elbow of a living human. The injury healed and the phalanx remained in situ until death. The individual derives from the Ellis Landing shellmound and dates to a subphase of the Middle Period (≈500BC–300AD) in the California cultural sequence. The remains are of a 30–40 year-old female. Comparative data on arm morphology and pathological conditions present were collected (n =159). Three Ursus subspecies (n =15) were examined to identify the taxon represented by the phalanx. The described individual was probably wearing bear paw ornaments at the time she was crushed by a heavy object. During this event, a bear claw was driven into her cubital fossa, the basal phalangeal tubercle being impressed into the humerus. The wound healed completely. The presence of Ursus body parts indicates an elevated societal role for this female; most likely she was a shaman or healer. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Summary: This paper seeks to identify and explore some of the tensions that nurse educators face when engaging in the competing internal and external demands that are made on their delivery of curricula. It offers that one of the ways to explore these tensions constructively is to see them dialectically. It seeks to identify three archetypal dialectical themes that can be present in our teaching and offers that the educator''s role can be understood to be one of a shaman as they seek to resolve these dialectical tensions skilfully. Creative modalities offer nurses a new perspective on how to care for patients. The link between creativity and healing is well documented. In response to this, many hospitals have instituted programs that include arts and creativity. Because of their unique bonds with patients, nurses play a crucial role in bringing creative arts into patient care. In his ethnic narrative The Rain God, Arturo Islas explores the Mexican-American codes of conduct that are designed to punish those who transgress traditional boundaries. In particular, he examines the effects of transgressing bodily norms. He gives his character Miguel Chico experiences with and a perception of disability that mirror his own, and, in doing so, he examines the role of the disabled male in the Chicano culture. The chronically disabled figure -- a character with polio and, later, a colostomy -- is portrayed as not only a figure moving between the world of the healthy and the world of the sick, but is characterized as what Gloria Anzaldua calls a "half dead" figure, moving between the world of living and the world of the dead. With these binaries, Islas shows how the Chicano culture misrepresents the disabled male who cannot fit neatly into categories of healthy and unhealthy, male and female, and acceptable and unacceptable. Thus, he uses disability to explode traditional cultural categories. While he proves that disability is more complicated than his culture will admit, he acknowledges the power of stereotypes and their ability to alter one's course in life. Ultimately, Islas argues that disability has the capacity to rob the Chicano male of his voice and his agency within the Chicano culture as well as the disabled culture. The Rain God is a reclamation project designed to recover that voice. Through various methods, Miguel Chico indeed recovers his voice, but his methods of recovery trap him in a state of psychological wounding and healing, proving the inescapable oppression the disabled male Chicano must endure.
