Gemcitabine-based monotherapy or combination therapy has become the standard treatment for locally advanced and metastatic pancreatic cancer. However, the emergence of resistance within weeks of treatment severely compromises therapeutic efficacy. The intricate biological process of gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic cancer presents a complex challenge, as the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Identifying the target protein of gemcitabine is crucial for studying its drug-resistance mechanism. An activity-based probe is a powerful tool for studying drug target proteins, but the current lack of activity-based gemcitabine probes with robust biological activity hinders research on gemcitabine. In this study, we developed three active probes based on gemcitabine, among which Gem-3demonstrated excellent stability and labeling efficacy. We utilized Gem-3in conjunction with chemical proteomics to identify intracellular target proteins. We identified 79 proteins that interact with gemcitabine, most of which were previously unknown and represented various functional classes. Additionally, we validated the increased expression of IFIT3 and MARCKS in drug-resistant cells, along with the activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway. These findings substantially contribute to our comprehension of gemcitabine’s target proteins and further our understanding of the mechanisms driving gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic cancer cells.

Cellular nanoparticles (CNPs), fabricated by coating natural cell membranes onto nanoparticle cores, have been widely used to replicate cellular functions for various therapeutic applications. Specifically, CNPs act as cell decoys, binding harmful molecules or infectious pathogens and neutralizing their bioactivity. This neutralization strategy leverages the target’s functional properties rather than its structure, resulting in broad-spectrum efficacy. Since their inception, CNP platforms have undergone significant advancements to enhance their neutralizing capabilities and efficiency. This review traces the research advances of CNP technology as multiplex countermeasures across four categories with progressive functions: neutralization through cell membrane binding, simultaneous neutralization using both cell membrane and nanoparticle core, continuous neutralization via enzymatic degradation, and enhanced neutralization through membrane modification. The review highlights the structure–property relationship in CNP designs, showing the functional advances of each category of CNP. By providing an overview of CNPs in multiplex neutralization of a wide range of chemical and biological threat agents, this article aims to inspire the development of more advanced CNP nanoformulations and uncover innovative applications to address unresolved medical challenges.

Although pulse compression optical time domain reflectometry (PC-OTDR) exhibits high performance in spatial resolution and dynamic range, it inevitably introduces auto-correlation sidelobes, potentially impacting measurement accuracy. In this letter, an improved CLEAN algorithm is proposed to efficiently suppress sidelobes and enhance the peak-to-sidelobe ratio (PSLR) of signals in PC-OTDR. The proposed method introduces an adaptive step factor instead of the traditional fixed factor to reduce the number of iterations. Compared to the traditional method, the proposed method achieves a 2.87 dB improvement of PSLR from a 10 km sensing fiber. In addition, the computation time cost is significantly reduced, which is 1.92 s less than that of the traditional CLEAN algorithm.

Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon (KMP) is characterized by profound thrombocytopenia and consumptive coagulopathy associated with vascular tumors, such as Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE). The pathogenesis of KMP remains unclear and its treatment is challenging. In this study, we tried to establish an animal model of KMP, which may facilitate the research on the etiology and new treatment.

Aims/BackgroundBoth membranous nephropathy (MN) and immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) are immune complex-mediated glomerular diseases, but the concurrent occurrence of these two conditions in the same patient is not common, a phenomenon that is currently not supported by clinical data in terms of treatment and prognosis. This study explores the clinical and pathological characteristics, as well as the treatment outcomes, of patients affected by MN and IgAN simultaneously.MethodsThe clinical data, pathological features, and diagnostic and therapeutic information of seven cases of MN complicated by IgAN, treated between December 2015 and December 2022, were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsAmong the seven cases, there were two male and five female patients, with an average age of 57.3 ± 9.2 years. All patients presented with clinical manifestations of proteinuria and edema upon admission, with an average 24-hour urine protein of 3716.6 ± 1519.4 mg/24 h. Phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) expression was detected in all seven cases, and nephrotic syndrome was clinically diagnosed in five cases. Additionally, all seven cases showed microscopic hematuria, with intermittent gross hematuria in two cases. All seven patients included in this study underwent renal biopsy. After disease staging, the patients had MN stages I–III and IgAN stages II–III. Pathological findings revealed abnormal glomerular basement membrane (GBM) and diffuse immunoglobulin G (IgG) deposition in the subepithelial space, predominantly of the IgG4 subtype. Simultaneously, there was diffuse mesangial zone deposition of immunoglobulin A (IgA) to varying degrees, co-localization of complement component C3 and IgA, and mesangial cell proliferation. Treatment strategies included angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) in combination with steroids or immunosuppressive therapies such as tacrolimus, cyclophosphamide, and rituximab. After 2–6 months of treatment, all patients achieved complete remission with a favourable prognosis.ConclusionMN accompanied by IgAN tends to occur more frequently in middle-aged and elderly individuals, with a relatively low incidence. The latent feature of the comorbidities manifests as a form of IgAN superimposed on the background of MN. Utilizing ACEI or ARB in combination with steroids or various immunosuppressive therapies represents a potentially effective treatment strategy.

Exploring a zero-dimensional (0D) hybrid halide with a large Stokes shift and efficient broad-band emission is highly desirable due to its enormous potential for solid-state lighting (SSL) application. However, it is still challenging to develop a highly emissive 0D hybrid halide with low toxicity and remarkable stability. Herein, we developed a novel indium-based metal halide A5In2Cl16·4H2O (A = doubly protonated 1,4-diaminobutane) whose inorganic octahedrons are completely isolated by the organic cations to form the 0D structure. Experimental and theoretical studies confirmed that Sb-doped A5In2Cl16·4H2O exhibits broad yellow emission with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of up to 98%. The intense yellow emission can be attributed to the radiative recombination of triplet self-trapped excitons (STEs) in [SbCl6]3–octahedrons caused by the strong electron–phonon coupling. Benefiting from the excellent stability and photoluminescence performance, A5In2Cl16·4H2O:15%Sb was used as the yellow phosphor to prepare a white-light-emitting diode (WLED) device with a color rendering index of 87.8 and a luminous efficiency of up to 36.18 lm/W, demonstrating its potential in SSL applications. This work provides a guidance for developing environmentally friendly, efficient, and stable ultraviolet (UV)-excited broad-band emission materials.

This research presents a unique small molecule characterized by its ability to effectively disrupt RNA G-quadruplexes (G4s), which are notably more stable than their DNA counterparts. We conducted a comprehensive series of in vitroexperiments to thoroughly assess the disruptive capabilities of this molecule on RNA G4s. These experiments included comparisons with established G4 stabilizers and DNA G4 disruptors, providing a multifaceted evaluation of the molecule’s efficacy. Our extensive in vitroanalyses demonstrated that this molecule effectively alters G4 structures and interactions with the BG4 protein, a well-recognized G4-specific antibody. These findings underscore the molecule’s potential to modulate G4-protein interactions, indicating promising applications for manipulating cellular functions associated with G4 dynamics in future research.

Neurotoxins pose significant challenges in defense and healthcare due to their disruptive effects on nervous tissues. Their extreme potency and enormous structural diversity have hindered the development of effective antidotes. Motivated by the properties of cell membrane-derived nanodiscs, such as their ultrasmall size, disc shape, and inherent cell membrane functions, here, we develop neuronal membrane-derived nanodiscs (denoted “Neuron-NDs”) as a countermeasure nanomedicine for broad-spectrum neurotoxin detoxification. We fabricate Neuron-NDs using the plasma membrane of human SH-SY5Y neurons and demonstrate their effectiveness in detoxifying tetrodotoxin (TTX) and botulinum toxin (BoNT), two model toxins with distinct mechanisms of action. Cell-based assays confirm the ability of Neuron-NDs to inhibit TTX-induced ion channel blockage and BoNT-mediated inhibition of synaptic vesicle recycling. In mouse models of TTX and BoNT intoxication, treatment with Neuron-NDs effectively improves survival rates in both therapeutic and preventative settings. Importantly, high-dose administration of Neuron-NDs shows no observable acute toxicity in mice, indicating its safety profile. Overall, our study highlights the facile fabrication of Neuron-NDs and their broad-spectrum detoxification capabilities, offering promising solutions for neurotoxin-related challenges in biodefense and therapeutic applications.

Integrated application of interface engineering and vacancy engineering is a promising and effective strategy for the design and fabrication of high-performance electrocatalysts. Herein, the heterointerface catalyst with rich sulfur vacancies, vs-Ni3S2/Fe2P, was successfully designed and constructed. The strong heterointerface coupling and rich sulfur vacancies in vs-Ni3S2/Fe2P significantly optimize the electronic structure of the catalyst and synergistically improve the inherent catalytic activity. Benefiting from the optimization of the electronic structure, vs-Ni3S2/Fe2P exhibits excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic performance in alkaline electrolytes. The overpotentials for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions (HER and OER) are 99 and 169 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm–2, respectively. Particularly, it achieves an ultrahigh OER performance with an overpotential of 251 mV at 300 mA cm–2. Moreover, the catalyst also displays outstanding long-term durability. Density functional theory (DFT) computations reveal that the synergy of interface coupling and sulfur vacancies is crucial to optimizing the electronic structure. This study offers a hopeful pathway for the design and construction of durable and efficient electrocatalysts.

In 2.5-D packaging, thermal aggregation and signal crosstalk have been major obstacles in the development of high-density interconnect technology, greatly impacting the reliability of devices. This work presents a polycrystal/monocrystal diamond interposer with excellent thermal conductivity and low dielectric constant as a substitute for the Si interposer, aiming to address both thermal and electrical issues simultaneously. The thermal and electrical characteristics of Si, glass, and diamond interposers are investigated by analyzing heat transfer, heat dissipation, and electrical characteristics. The results show that diamond interposers are expected to effectively improve the heat transfer effect with the equivalent thermal conductivity of through-diamond via (TDV) cell always greater than 1200 W/m $\cdot $ K. The overall thermal resistance and peak temperature of the polycrystal diamond interposer drop by $0.75~^{\circ }$ C/W and $23.9~^{\circ }$ C compared to Si, respectively. The improved temperature uniformity of diamond interposer helps to reduce the risk of mechanical failure and delay of the chip. Furthermore, the peak transmission coefficient in TDV cell is -0.24 dB, which experienced a lower return loss compared to through-silicon via (TSV). Diamond interposers provide effective solutions for thermal management and signal crosstalk in 2.5-D packages, making it a promising candidate in the field of highly reliable packaging.

The phase signals, combined with time-domain signal processing methods, are often used for recognition with the phase-sensitive optical time-domain reflectometer (Φ-OTDR). Considering the advanced and sophisticated algorithms prevalent in the field of image processing, a vibration signal imaging method is proposed to enhance the adaptability of phase signals for learning by image network. The phase time series is converted to a Markov Transition Fields (MTF) matrix, from which the based matrix is extracted by Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) and saved as an RGB image. One-dimensional (1-D) Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and 2-D CNN are applied in the experiment to classify the phase signals and images, respectively. The experimental results show that the training convergence efficiency of 2-D CNN using NMF-MTF images is significantly higher than that of 1-D CNN, demonstrating the effectiveness of converting phase signals into images. In addition, the average recognition accuracy for the four fence events is improved by more than 13% by introducing the NMF algorithm on the MTF matrix.

An endfire array antenna has garnered significant attention in the field of airborne early warning (AEW) detection for its excellent characteristics, such as simple structure and low aerodynamic profile. Nevertheless, the endfire array airborne radar (EFAAR) encounters the challenge of suppressing powerful ground/sea clutter in practical applications, especially in nonstationary clutter environment. Although 3-D space-time adaptive processing (STAP) has demonstrated efficacy in nonstationary clutter suppression for side-looking array airborne radar (SLAAR), it is at the cost of huge computation load and training sample requirement. In this article, a 3-D reduced-dimensional (RD) STAP method is proposed to suppress the nonstationary clutter for EFAAR based on its clutter distribution. First, the 3-D space-time signal model for EFAAR is established, and the characteristics of the antenna pattern and the clutter are discussed in detail. Second, on the basis of the analysis, an RD method for 3D-STAP, which combines multiple channels in row and multiple beams in column, is proposed. Then, computation loads of the proposed method and the existing typical methods are analyzed in detail, and the performance of parameter estimation for EFAAR is also discussed. Finally, simulation results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method and its advantage over the typical methods.

Intraoperative imaging techniques for reconstructing deformable tissues in vivo are pivotal for advanced surgical systems. Existing methods either compromise on rendering quality or are excessively computationally intensive, often demanding dozens of hours to perform, which significantly hinders their practical application. In this paper, we introduce Fast Orthogonal Plane (Forplane), a novel, efficient framework based on neural radiance fields (NeRF) for the reconstruction of deformable tissues. We conceptualize surgical procedures as 4D volumes, and break them down into static and dynamic fields comprised of orthogonal neural planes. This factorization discretizes the four-dimensional space, leading to a decreased memory usage and faster optimization. A spatiotemporal importance sampling scheme is introduced to improve performance in regions with tool occlusion as well as large motions and accelerate training. An efficient ray marching method is applied to skip sampling among empty regions, significantly improving inference speed. Forplane accommodates both binocular and monocular endoscopy videos, demonstrating its extensive applicability and flexibility. Our experiments, carried out on two in vivo datasets, the EndoNeRF and Hamlyn datasets, demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework. In all cases, Forplane substantially accelerates both the optimization process (by over 100 times) and the inference process (by over 15 times) while maintaining or even improving the quality across a variety of non-rigid deformations. This significant performance improvement promises to be a valuable asset for future intraoperative surgical applications. PMS2is one of the DNA-mismatch repair genes included in routine genetic testing for Lynch syndrome and colorectal, ovarian, and endometrial cancers. PMS2is also included in the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics' List of Secondary Findings Genes in the context of clinical exome and genome sequencing. However, sequencing of PMS2by short-read–based next-generation sequencing technologies is complicated by the presence of the pseudogene PMS2CL, and is often supplemented by long-range–based approaches, such as long-range PCR or long-read–based next-generation sequencing, which increases the complexity and cost. This article describes a bioinformatics homology triage workflow that can eliminate the need for long-read–based testing for PMS2in the vast majority of patients undergoing exome sequencing, thus simplifying PMS2testing and reducing the associated cost.

Anthraquinone-fused enediynes are anticancer natural products featuring a DNA-intercalating anthraquinone moiety. Despite recent insights into anthraquinone-fused enediyne (AQE) biosynthesis, the enzymatic steps involved in anthraquinone biogenesis remain to be elucidated. Through a combination of in vitroand in vivostudies, we demonstrated that a two-enzyme system, composed of a flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)-dependent monooxygenase (DynE13) and a cofactor-free enzyme (DynA1), catalyzes the final steps of anthraquinone formation by converting δ-thiolactone anthracene to hydroxyanthraquinone. We showed that the three oxygen atoms in the hydroxyanthraquinone originate from molecular oxygen (O2), with the sulfur atom eliminated as H2S. We further identified the key catalytic residues of DynE13 and A1 by structural and site-directed mutagenesis studies. Our data support a catalytic mechanism wherein DynE13 installs two oxygen atoms with concurrent desulfurization and decarboxylation, whereas DynA1 acts as a cofactor-free monooxygenase, installing the final oxygen atom in the hydroxyanthraquinone. These findings establish the indispensable roles of DynE13 and DynA1 in AQE biosynthesis and unveil novel enzymatic strategies for anthraquinone formation.

Limited flight duration is a considerable obstacle to the widespread application of micro aerial vehicles (MAVs)1–3, especially for ultralightweight MAVs weighing less than 10 g, which, in general, have a flight endurance of no more than 10 min (refs. 1,4). Sunlight power5–7is a potential alternative to improve the endurance of ultralight MAVs, but owing to the restricted payload capacity of the vehicle and low lift-to-power efficiency of traditional propulsion systems, previous studies have not achieved untethered sustained flight of MAVs fully powered by natural sunlight8,9. Here, to address these challenges, we introduce the CoulombFly, an electrostatic flyer consisting of an electrostatic-driven propulsion system with a high lift-to-power efficiency of 30.7 g W−1and an ultralight kilovolt power system with a low power consumption of 0.568 W, to realize solar-powered sustained flight of an MAV under natural sunlight conditions (920 W m−2). The vehicle’s total mass is only 4.21 g, within 1/600 of the existing lightest sunlight-powered aerial vehicle6.

Neurotoxins are known for their extreme lethality. However, due to their enormous diversity, effective and broad-spectrum countermeasures are lacking. This study presents a dual-modal cellular nanoparticle (CNP) formulation engineered for continuous neurotoxin neutralization. The formulation involves encapsulating the metabolic enzyme N-sulfotransferase (SxtN) into metal–organic framework (MOF) nanoparticle cores and coating them with a natural neuronal membrane, termed “Neuron-MOF/SxtN-NPs”. The resulting nanoparticles combine membrane-enabled broad-spectrum neurotoxin neutralization with enzyme payload-enabled continuous neurotoxin neutralization. The studies confirm the protection of the enzyme payload by the MOF core and validate the continuous neutralization of saxitoxin (STX). In vivostudies conducted using a mouse model of STX intoxication reveal markedly improved survival rates compared with control groups. Furthermore, acute toxicity assessments show no adverse effects associated with the administration of Neuron-MOF/SxtN-NPs in healthy mice. Overall, Neuron-MOF/SxtN-NPs represent a unique biomimetic nanomedicine platform poised to effectively neutralize neurotoxins, marking an important advancement in the field of countermeasure nanomedicine.

The stability issue of Sn-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is expected to be resolved by involving a two-dimensional (2D) layered structure. However, Sn-based 2D PSCs, especially Dion–Jacobson (DJ)-phase ones with potentially good stability, have rarely been reported. Herein, superior DJ-phase Sn 2D perovskites with 3-aminobenzylamine (3ABA2+) or 4-aminobenzylamine (4ABA2+) π-conjugated short-chain ligands are reported to fabricate efficient 2D lead-free PSCs. Notably, the high dipole moment of the 3ABAI2organic spacer is approved to possess faster charge transfer for forming (3ABA)FA4Sn5I162D perovskite with an extremely low exciton binding energy (only 84 meV). In combination with a diacetate partial substitution and methylamine iodide/bromide (MAI/MABr) post-treatment strategy to delay crystallization and improve compactness and coverage of the perovskite film, a record power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 6.81% and stability of 840 h (less than 5% degradation in a N2atmosphere for unencapsulated devices) are acquired in eventual (3ABA)FA4Sn5I162D PSCs, which are among the highest PCE and the longest stability of Sn-based 2D PSCs reported to date. Our work provides a prospective molecule design and film preparation strategy of 2D Sn perovskites toward nontoxic high-performance tin-based PSCs, which pushes the almost stagnant research forward.

Low-dimensional lead-halide hybrids are an emerging class of optical functional material but suffer the problems of toxicity and poor air stability. Among lead-free metal halides, tin(IV)-based metal halides are promising optoelectronic materials due to their robust structure and environmental friendliness. However, their photoluminescence (PL) properties are poor, and the underlying mechanisms are still elusive. Herein, a stable Sn4+-based halide hybrid, (C4H7N2)2SnCl6, was developed, which however exhibits poor PL properties at room temperature (RT) due to the lattice defects and the robust crystal structure. To enhance its PL efficiency, the Te4+ion with a stereoactive 5s2lone pair has been introduced into the lattice. As a result, Te4+-doped (C4H7N2)2SnCl6displays broadband orange emission (∼640 nm) with a PL efficiency of ∼46% at RT. Interestingly, Te4+-doped (C4H7N2)2SnCl6shows triple emission bands at 80 K, which could be due to the synergistic effect of the organic cations and the self-trapped state induced by Te4+. Additionally, high-performance white light-emitting diodes were prepared using Te4+-doped (C4H7N2)2SnCl6, revealing the potential of this material for lighting applications. This study provides new insight into the PL mechanism of Sn4+-based metal-halide hybrids and thus facilitates the design and development of eco-friendly light-emitting metal halides.

AlN/diamond heterostructures hold tremendous promise for the development of next-generation high-power electronic devices due to their ultrawide band gaps and other exceptional properties. However, the poor adhesion at the AlN/diamond interface is a significant challenge that will lead to film delamination and device performance degradation. In this study, the uniaxial tensile failure of the AlN/diamond heterogeneous interfaces was investigated by molecular dynamics simulations based on a neuroevolutionary machine learning potential (NEP) model. The interatomic interactions can be successfully described by trained NEP, the reliability of which has been demonstrated by the prediction of the cleavage planes of AlN and diamond. It can be revealed that the annealing treatment can reduce the total potential energy by enhancing the binding of the C and N atoms at interfaces. The strain engineering of AlN also has an important impact on the mechanical properties of the interface. Furthermore, the influence of the surface roughness and interfacial nanostructures on the AlN/diamond heterostructures has been considered. It can be indicated that the combination of surface roughness reduction, AlN strain engineering, and annealing treatment can effectively result in superior and more stable interfacial mechanical properties, which can provide a promising solution to the optimization of mechanical properties, of ultrawide band gap semiconductor heterostructures.

Diamond has become a promising candidate for high-power devices based on its ultrawide bandgap and excellent thermoelectric properties, where an appropriate gate dielectric has been a bottleneck hindering the development of diamond devices. Herein, we have systematically investigated the structural arrangement and electronic properties of diamond/high-κ oxide (HfO2, ZrO2) heterojunctions by first-principles calculations with a SiO2interlayer. Charge analysis reveals that the C–Si bonding interface attracts a large amount of charge concentrated at the diamond interface, indicating the potential for the formation of a 2D hole gas (2DHG). The diamond/HfO2and diamond/ZrO2heterostructures exhibit similar “Type II” band alignments with VBOs of 2.47 and 2.21 eV, respectively, which is consistent with experimental predictions. The introduction of a SiO2dielectric layer into the diamond/SiO2/high-κ stacks exhibits the typical “Type I″ straddling band offsets (BOs). In addition, the wide bandgap SiO2interlayer keeps the valence band maximum (VBM) and conduction band minimum (CBM) in the stacks away from those of diamond, effectively confining the electrons and holes in MOS devices. This work exhibits the potential of SiO2/high-κ oxide gate dielectrics for diamond devices and provides theoretical insights into the rational design of high-quality gate dielectrics for diamond-based MOS device applications.

During the synthesis of deep-blue perovskite quantum dots (PQDs), they generally emerge as a two-dimensional byproduct with poor yield and low photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) due to amine ligand enrichment-induced abundant surface defects. Herein, we provide a colloidal synthesis method to prepare deep-blue CsPbBr3PQDs in a green nontoxic solvent via strategic Z-type ligand engineering. Z-type ligands of zinc octanoate enable the formation of robust coordination bonds with surface bromide ions of PQDs, maintaining acid–base equilibrium and reducing excess amine enrichment on the PQDs surface. Consequently, homogeneous and monodispersed PQDs with improved PLQY of 73% are successfully synthesized, achieving efficient deep-blue LEDs with a peak EQE of 5.46%, a maximum luminance of 847.6 cd/m2, and an operational half-lifetime of 14 min. The devices exhibit color coordinates of (0.137, 0.049), closely approximating the Rec. 2020 blue standard. Our work offers a potentially eco-friendly and viable route for realizing high-performance LEDs in the deep-blue region.

The management of non-performing loans (NPLs) within the framework of international law often lacks coherence and specificity, leading to limited regulatory outcomes. This underscores the critical influence of domestic law and individual countries’ behavioural choices in addressing NPLs, necessitating this study. This article thoroughly explores China’s relatively uncharted approach to resolving NPLs-related issues, with a specific focus on recent developments in managing individual NPLs. Through a meticulous analysis of end-market disposal, civil law stipulations, and debt collection strategies under criminal law, the article presents a fresh and innovative perspective on China’s NPLs disposal market. The article concludes by emphasizing the normative role of international legal mechanisms in effectively addressing NPLs issues and explores China’s potential contributions in this context. To bolster the concluding arguments, this article reviews the legal framework for cross-border insolvency and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL)’s recent efforts in facilitating cross-border asset tracing and recovery. China’s role in this UNCITRAL initiative has been less than satisfactory so far. China should contribute more to key issues such as legalizing new cross-border debt tracing technologies, improving global asset transparency, facilitating international cooperation, and mitigating politicization of judicial processes.

Low-dimensional hybrid metal halides are an emerging class of materials with highly efficient photoluminescence (PL), but the problems of poor stability remain challenging. Sn(IV)-based metal halides show robust structure but exhibit poor PL properties, and the structure–luminescence relationship is elusive. Herein, two Sn(IV)-based metal halides (compounds 1and 2) with the same constituent ((C6H16N2)SnCl6) but different crystal structures have been prepared, which however show poor PL properties at room temperature due to the absence of active ns2electrons. To improve materials’ PL properties, Sb3+with active 5s2electrons was embedded into the lattice of Sn4+-based hosts. As a result, efficient emissions were achieved for Sb3+-doped compounds 1and 2with a maximum PL efficiency of 14.28 and 62%, respectively. Experimental and calculation results reveal that the smaller distorted lattice structure of the host could result in the blueshift of the emission from Sb3+. Thus, a tunable color from red to orange was realized. Benefiting from the broadband efficient emission from Sb3+-doped compound 2, an efficient white light-emitting diode with a high color rendering index of up to 92.3 was fabricated to demonstrate its lighting application potential. This work promotes the understanding of the influence of robust Sn(IV)-based host lattice on the PL properties of Sb3+, advancing the development of environmentally friendly, low-cost, and high-efficiency Sn(IV)-based metal halides.

Engineering exosomes with nanomaterials usually leads to the damage of exosomal membrane and bioactive molecules. Here, pathological angiogenesis targeting exosomes with magnetic imaging, ferroptosis inducing, and immunotherapeutic properties is fabricated using a simple coincubation method with macrophages being the bioreactor. Extremely small iron oxide nanoparticle (ESIONPs) incorporated exosomes (ESIONPs@EXO) are acquired by sorting the secreted exosomes from M1-polarized macrophages induced by ESIONPs. ESIONPs@EXO suppress pathological angiogenesis in vitroand in vivowithout toxicity. Furthermore, ESIONPs@EXO target pathological angiogenesis and exhibit an excellent T1-weighted contrast property for magnetic resonance imaging. Mechanistically, ESIONPs@EXO induce ferroptosis and exhibit immunotherapeutic ability toward pathological angiogenesis. These findings demonstrate that a pure biological method engineered ESIONPs@EXO using macrophages shows potential for targeted pathological angiogenesis therapy.

Cryogenic energy storage (CES) is a viable method for grid-scale electrical energy storage. Considering the high energy density and mature application of liquefied natural gas (LNG), we proposed an LNG cryogenic energy storage (LNGES) system. A steady-state process model of the LNGES system was established using Aspen HYSYS. The effects of the natural gas composition and key operating parameters such as the charging pressure, discharging pressure, throttling temperature, and liquid storage pressure on the system performance were investigated. A multi-parameter genetic algorithm model built using the MATLAB software was used to optimize the LNGES system to optimize the round-trip efficiency (RTE). Then, an exergy analysis of the optimal configuration was conducted. The results suggested that the LNGES system could achieve optimal RTE and exergy efficiency values of 60.14% and 71.64%, respectively. Exergy destruction mainly occurred during the compression, throttling, expansion, and heat exchange. The proposed LNGES system could be a promising candidate for the large-scale application of CES technology in power grids and gas networks.
