Abstract: The article discusses thermostabilization of a Hygromycin B Phosphotransferase gene (HYG) from bacterium species Streptomyces hygroscopicus. Topics discussed include thermophilic bacterium thermus thermophilus is an vivo-directed evolutionary strategy for thermostabilization of HYG, biochemical and biophysical analysis of recombinant HYG and duplication HYGIO, and nucleotide sequencing of cloned hyg gene in pT8S-P31-hyg. It also mentions enzymatic characterization of HYG 10.
