This paper analyzed the performance of the uplink of space-time coded OFDM/SDMA systems assuming each user is equipped with two transmit antennas. Different multiuser detection algorithms for space-time block coded (STBC) system and space-time trellis coded (STTC) system were proposed. The simulation results show that the performance of STBC system is better than that of the system without transmit diversity when using the same number of receive antennas, whereas those performance can be obtained by using double transmit antennas for STTC system. So STBC system outperforms the STTC system as viewed from the ability of restraining the interference between users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
