In this paper, we consider the robust linear infinite programming problem (RLIPc) defined by (RLIPc)inf〈c,x〉subject tox∈X,〈x∗,x〉≤r,∀(x∗,r)∈Ut,∀t∈T,where Xis a locally convex Hausdorff topological vector space, Tis an arbitrary index set, c∈ X∗, and Ut⊂X∗×ℝ, t∈ Tare uncertainty sets. We propose an approach to duality for the robust linear problems with convex constraints (RPc) and establish corresponding robust strong duality and also, stable robust strong duality, i.e., robust strong duality holds “uniformly” with all c∈ X∗. With the different choices/ways of setting/arranging data from (RLIPc), one gets back to the model (RPc) and the (stable) robust strong duality for (RPc) applies. By such a way, nine versions of dual problems for (RLIPc) are proposed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for stable robust strong duality of these pairs of primal-dual problems are given, for which some cover several known results in the literature while the others, due to the best knowledge of the authors, are new. Moreover, as by-products, we obtained from the robust strong duality for variants pairs of primal-dual problems, several robust Farkas-type results for linear infinite systems with uncertainty. Lastly, as extensions/applications, we extend/apply the results obtained to robust linear problems with sub-affine constraints, and to linear infinite problems (i.e., (RLIPc) with the absence of uncertainty). It is worth noticing even for these cases, we are able to derive new results on (robust/stable robust) duality for the mentioned classes of problems and new robust Farkas-type results for sub-linear systems, and also for linear infinite systems in the absence of uncertainty.

In this paper, we introduce hybrid pseudoviscosity approximation schemes with strongly positive bounded linear operators for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of common fixed points of infinitely many nonexpansive mappings in the setting of Hilbert spaces. We prove the strong convergence of the sequences generated by our scheme to a solution of an equilibrium problem which is also a common fixed point of infinitely many nonexpansive mappings. Our results can be treated as extension and improvement of the corresponding results appeared in the literature in the recent past.

The purpose of this article is to introduce a general shrinking projection algorithm for solving a finite family of quasi-variational inclusion problems in Hadamard manifolds. It is shown that under mild conditions, the sequence generated by the proposed algorithm converges strongly to a common solution to a finite family of quasi-variational inclusion problems. As applications, we apply our results to study a system of variational inequalities in Hadamard manifolds. Our results presented in the paper generalize and improve some recent results.

In this paper, some existence results for a nonlinear complementarity problem involving a pseudo-monotone mapping over an arbitrary closed convex cone in a real Hilbert space are established. In particular, some known existence results for a nonlinear complementarity problem in a finite-dimensional Hilbert space are generalized to an infinite-dimensional real Hilbert space. Applications to a class of nonlinear complementarity problems and the study of the post-critical equilibrium state of a thin elastic plate subjected to unilateral conditions are given.

Plastic-strain controlled test is investigated both experimentally and theoretically. The plastic-strain control is feasible by means of computer-aided material test system. Theoretical study is made by use of the modified endochronic theory in which plastic strain is employed to define intrinsic time. Three in-phase plastic-strain paths (a pure axial path, a pure torsional path and an axial-torsional in-phase path) and two out-of-phase plastic-strain paths (small and large perturbations from the axial-torsional in-phase path) are studied. It is shown that the theory and experiment have good agreement. Furthermore, both experimental and theoretical results show that strain-hardening is enhanced by out-of-phase loading.

A theoretical study is made on the local ovaling of a relatively thick tube of low modulus caused by bending. Use is made of modified Donnell’s large-deflection theory [3] and the principle of minimum potential energy in the solution. It is found that tubes with small radius-thickness ratio tend to buckle by local ovaling rather than by the small wave pattern since the former yields lower buckling moment than the latter.

This paper presents a theoretical solution to the problem of determining the buckling characteristics of an axially compressed, long, cylindrical shell which contains a solid or elastic core with a modulus lower than that of the shell. The buckling mode is assumed to be sinusoidal in both the axial and circumferential directions, with the bellows mode taken as a special case. Numerical results are obtained for the buckling characteristics of cylinders with solid cores. These results are found similar to those of P. Seide, who considered the bellows buckling mode.

A study on the regioselectivity of phosphorylation reaction of ambident anions of phenylacetone and Schiff base derived from cyclohexylamine and acetophenone or acetone was reported. The behaviour of allylbenzene in phosphorylation reaction was also examined. The phosphorylation of dianions of phenylacetone gave two C-phosphorylation products together with a O-phosphorylated compounds consisting of Z and E isomers. Upon phosphorylation of ambident anions ofSchiff base from cyclohexylamine and acetophenone or acetone three parallel reactions occurred with C-phosphorylation predominating. In the presence of excess phosphorylation agent N,N-bisphosphorylated was also formed.
