Different arthroscopic techniques exist for managing the extensor carpi radials brevis (ECRB) when treating refractory lateral epicondylitis. The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of a standard arthroscopic débridement with ECRB tendon release to an arthroscopic ECRB tenotomy distal to its insertion without débridement using a retrospective cohort study design. This study included patients underwent arthroscopic treatment of lateral epicondylitis during 2 different time periods: 2016-2019 (débridement) and 2019-2021 (modified tenotomy without débridement). Patients were assessed preoperatively and at the last follow-up with Mayo Elbow Performance Score (MEPS), Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score, Visual Analog Scale of pain. A total of 69 patients completed the follow-up (38 in the débridement group and 31 in the tenotomy group). Patients in both groups showed significant improvements were found in MEPS, DASH, and Visual Analog Scale after surgery. Patients in the tenotomy group had higher MEPSs and reported less pain with a minimum 2 year follow-up after surgery. DASH scores between groups were similar at all time periods. Arthroscopic modified tenotomy of the ECRB without débridement improves function and pain significantly for patients with refractory lateral epicondylitis, which is not inferior to arthroscopic débridement technique. To elucidate the research on value cocreation (VCC) in online services, it is important to identify and understand the main participants in cocreation activities, the elements of participation, and how they engage in cocreation. Therefore, this study addresses these research motivations from the activity theory perspective. We extracted articles from 2010 to 2022 concerning VCC in online services and identified over 161 papers published in the Elsevier Science Direct, Web of Science, and Emerald databases. This study describes the cocreation process and analyzes its driving factors and the cocreation mediators among multiple cocreation subjects. We develop a VCC model for online services based on the activity system model; this model offers a preliminary outline of a research agenda for the study of VCC in online services. BACKGROUND: An urgent educational need is to examine the current gaps in cultural competence/humility, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) that may significantly affect the teaching and learning environments among students/faculty. This mixed-methods study examined the current level of cultural competemility and perceptions of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)-related challenges and recommendations among students/faculty of health professions. METHODS: Students and faculty completed a survey including the Inventory for Assessing the Process of Cultural Competemility Among Healthcare Professionals (IAPCC-HCP©) and open-ended questions on their DEI perceptions and needs. Data were analyzed via descriptive statistics and independent t-tests. Qualitative data were coded using thematic content analysis. OUTCOMES: A total of 100 participants (64 students, 38 faculty) completed the survey. The majority identified as Caucasian or non-Hispanic White and female, and were satisfied with DEIA-related school-level initiatives and familiar with how to use pronouns to reflect all genders. Compared to students, faculty scored slightly higher, although not significantly, in five of six domains, including Cultural Humility, Cultural Awareness, Culture Skill, Cultural Encounters and Cultural Desire. Participants shared their need to address: 1) DEIA gaps in knowledge and Schools of Health Professions curriculum; 2) involvement of students; 3) racism, biases, and discrimination; and 4) recognition of underrepresented groups. Training needs were in the areas of 1) DEIA assessment and training for students and faculty; 2) DEIA school activities; 3) DEIA-informed policies; and 4) modifications to clinical education. CONCLUSION: The faculty more than students expressed the need to enhance their DEI and cultural knowledge. Peptide transport is important for plant tissues where rapid proteolysis occurs, especially during germination and senescence, to enhance redistribution of organic nitrogen (N). However, the biological role of peptide transporters is poorly investigated in rice. We characterized the function of the peptide transporter OsNPF8.1 of rice nitrate transporter 1/peptide transporter family (NPF). Ectopic expression of OsNPF8.1 in yeast revealed that OsNPF8.1 encoded a high-affinity di-/tri-peptide transporter, and the osnpf8.1 mutants had a lower uptake rate of the fluorescent-labelled dipeptide c in leaves of rice seedlings. Histochemical assays showed that OsNPF8.1 was highly expressed in mesophyll cells and vascular parenchyma cells, but not detected in root hairs and epidermises. Expression of OsNPF8.1 was induced by N deficiency, drought, NaCl and abscisic acid, and kept at a high level in senescing leaves. Under N deficiency conditions, compared with the wild type Zhonghua 11, the osnpf8.1 mutants grew slower at the seedling stage, and had lower grain yield and lower N content in the grains. In contrast, OsNPF8.1 -over-expressing rice (OsNPF8.1 - OE) grew faster at the seedling stage and had a higher grain yield. The osnpf8.1 seedlings were less tolerant to salt and drought stresses. These results suggested that stress-induced organic N transportation mediated by OsNPF8.1 might contribute to balance plant growth and tolerate to salt/drought stress and N-deficiency. After periodontal tissue injury, reconstruct soft tissue sealing around the tooth surface is of fundamental importance to treat periodontitis. Among multiple cell types, fibroblast plays a central role in reestablishing functional periodontium. To enhance fibroblast activity, a novel metal-organic framework-based nanoplatform is fabricated using mesoporous Prussian blue (MPB) nanoparticles to load baicalein (BA), named MPB-BA. Drug release test displayed sustained BA release of MPB-BA. Cell proliferation, transwell migration and wound healing tests revealed accelerated fibroblast proliferation and migration for the established MPBBA nanoplatform. Moreover, vinculin immunofluorescence staining, western blot and quantitative real-time PCR analysis showed up-regulated vinculin protein and integrin α5 and integrin β1 gene expressions for MPB-BA, suggesting improved cell adhesion. In addition, hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Masson trichromatic staining suggested superior anti-inflammatory and collagen fiber reconstruction effects for MPB-BA in a rat experimental periodontitis model in vivo. The study aimed to analyze the applicability of the World Health Organization's exclusionary guidelines for Urinary creatinine (Ucr) in the general Chinese population, and to identify Ucr related factors. We conduct a cross-sectional study using baseline data from 21,167 participants in the China National Human Biomonitoring Program. Mixed linear models and restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to analyze the associations between explanatory variables and Ucr concentration. The geometric mean and median concentrations of Ucr in the general Chinese population were 0.90 g/L and 1.01 g/L, respectively. And 9.36% samples were outside 0.3–3.0 g/L, including 7.83% below the lower limit and 1.53% above the upper limit. Middle age, male, obesity, smoking, higher frequency of red meat consumption and chronic kidney disease were associated significantly with higher concentrations of Ucr. Results of the RCS showed Ucr was positively and linearly associated with body mass index, inversely and linearly associated with systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, triglycerides level, and glomerular filtration rate, and were non-linearly associated with triiodothyronine. The age- and gender-specific cut-off values of Ucr that determine the validity of urine samples in the general Chinese population were recommended. To avoid introducing bias into epidemiologic associations, the potential predictors of Ucr observed in the current study should be considered when using Ucr to adjust for variations in urine dilution. The situations are complex and variant in the three stages of "carbon emission peak", "rapid reduction of carbon emission" and "deep decarbonization for carbon neutrality" in China' s carbon neutralization roadmap. Forest carbon sequestration is an important means to achieve the goal of carbon neutralization in China. Its intertemporal allocation is a vital way to balance industrial emission reduction and forest carbon sequestration, reduce the cost of carbon neutrality, and gradually achieve the goal of carbon neutrality based on optimal cost. Based on the cost optimization allocation theory, we simulated the cost change process of three stages of carbon neutralization in China by quoting the theory of marginal carbon sequestration cost and combining with the existing domestic marginal abatement cost theory. The results showed that annual forest carbon sequestrations with the optimal cost in China was 20 million t, 775 million t and 1. 982 billion t respectively in the three stages of "carbon emission peak", "rapid reduction of carbon emission" and "deep decarbonization for carbon neutrality", accounting for 1.8%, 17.5%, and 37.6% of the total emission reduction in each period. Compared with the way relying only on industrial emission reduction, forest carbon sequestration under the optimal cost design reduced the total cost by 48, 79136, and 909253 million US $ in the three stages of carbon neutralization, respectively. Due to the limited cost advantage of forest carbon sequestration, industrial emission reduction should be emphasized in the " carbon emission peak" stage. In the "rapid reduction of carbon emissions" stage, the cost advantage of forest carbon sequestration will be increasingly prominent. In the stage of " deep decarbonization for carbon neutrality", it is necessary to fully exploit the cost advantage of forest carbon sequestration to achieve the goal of "zero carbon" to avoid the risk of high costs, especially for industries with high decarbonization cost or that will never be completely decarbonized. One of the main goals of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is to utilize the energy of sensor nodes effectively and maximize the network lifetime. Thus, this paper proposed a routing protocol for WSNs based on virtual force disturbing mobile Sink node (VFMSR). According to the number of sensor nodes in the cluster, the average energy and the centroid factor of the cluster, a new cluster head (CH) election fitness function was designed. At the same time, a hexagonal fixed-point moving trajectory model with the best radius was constructed, and the virtual force was introduced to interfere with it, so as to avoid the frequent propagation of sink node position information, and reduce the energy consumption of CH. Combined with the improved ant colony algorithm (ACA), the shortest transmission path to Sink node was constructed to reduce the energy consumption of long-distance data transmission of CHs. The simulation results showed that, compared with LEACH, EIP-LEACH, ANT-LEACH and MECA protocols, VFMSR protocol was superior to the existing routing protocols in terms of network energy consumption and network lifetime, and compared with LEACH protocol, the network lifetime was increased by more than three times. BACKGROUND: The cuff leak test (CLT) has been shown to have excellent specificity and moderate sensitivity for predicting postextubation stridor (PES). However, the ventilator flow waveform and the subject position are not uniform in current clinical practice. METHODS: We conducted a prospective cohort study in the respiratory ICU of the Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University. Prior to extubation, 4 CLTs, combining 2 different postures and ventilator flow waveforms, were conducted, and the diagnostic performance of each test was assessed. RESULTS: Of the 143 included subjects, PES occurred in 13 (9.1%), and 10 (7%) subjects required re-intubation. Initially, an air leak volume of 110 mL was used as the standard to judge performance. The test that involved the square waveform and the subject in semi-recumbent position (test 4) had the best diagnostic performance, with a specificity of 80% and a sensitivity of 67% for predicting PES. After analyzing the receiver operating characteristic curve, an optimal diagnostic threshold of 116 mL for air leak volume was found to result in a specificity of 92% and a sensitivity of 63% for test 4. Additionally, when the air leak ratio of test 4 was 0.32, the area under the curve was 0.76, the specificity was 92%, and the sensitivity was 62%. CONCLUSIONS: In this study, performing the CLT with the subject in semi-recumbent position using the square waveform appeared to allow for the best prediction of PES. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to explore the impact of rock salt aerosol therapy on the quality of life in pneumoconiosis patients. It may provide new treatment method for the comprehensive control of pneumoconiosis. A total of 452 subjects from 6 hospitals were divided based on the multi-level hierarchical random design. The patients in the treatment group received conventional comprehensive treatment + rock salt aerosol therapy. The baseline data were collected, including gender, age, age of dust exposure, stage and COPD combination. Cough, expectoration and dyspnea levels were valuated. Both of the two methods exhibited good curative effect following time extension. Rock salt aerosol therapy showed more significant effect compared with routine method. The clinical symptom tends to be stable after two weeks treatment of rock salt aerosol therapy. The curative effect increases with the extension of treatment time. 2-4 weeks for one course of treatment can improve the curative effect. Rock salt aerosol therapy can effectively improve the quality of life of pneumoconiosis patients. It is a good treatment and rehabilitation method for the prevention and treatment of pneumoconiosis, thus is worthy of clinical application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To understand research advances and frontiers of acupuncture regulation on the autonomic nervous system (ANS) over the past decade through a bibliometric analysis. Publications related to acupuncture regulation on the ANS were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. CiteSpace software was used to analyze the datasets and generate knowledge maps. A total of 445 relevant publications published between 2013 and 2022 were included in this bibliometric analysis. The number of annual publications fluctuated from 2013 to 2016 but increased gradually from 2016 to 2022. China produced the highest number of publications, while the USA established the most extensive cooperation relationships. China Academy of Chinese Medical Science was the most productive institution. Chen Jiande D.Z. was the most prolific author and Rong Peijing holds the most extensive cooperation network. Han Jisheng was the most co-cited author. Relevant research involved mechanism exploration and clinical efficacy research, and "anti-inflammatory effect" was the most active research topic, especially cholinergic anti-inflammatory mechanisms. The most cited references mainly focused on inflammation. Gastrointestinal and cardiovascular disorders were the most active medical conditions studied in this field. Research related to acupuncture regulation on the ANS mainly focused on anti-inflammation, and regulating gastrointestinal and cardiovascular function over the past decade. However, the mechanisms of the autonomic effects of acupuncture need further investigation. Actinidia arguta (Sieb. & Zucc) Planch, ex Miq is a perennial woody vine of Actinidia genus in the family of Actinidiaceae. Its fruit has many pharmacological effects such as appetizing and strengthening the spleen, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor. It is known as the "King of Fruits"", This study analyzed the ploidy of Actinidia arguta (Sieb, & Zucc) Planch, ex Miq, natural populations by flow cytometry, The results of the study showed that in this population, the proportions of tetraploid, hexaploid, octoploid and decaploid were 38%, 15%, 30% and 17%, respectively, The haploid Actinidia arguta (Sieb, & Zucc) Planch, ex Miq, The genome size is 776,7±93.77 Mb. The CHA2DS2-VASc score is a guideline-recommended stroke risk stratification scheme for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Accurately calculating the CHA2DS2-VASc score and recognizing the stroke risk in AF patients is the foundation of optimal anticoagulation therapy. This survey aims to obtain a comprehensive understanding of perceptions and knowledge gaps on CHA2DS2-VASc scores among Chinese medical professionals for future education programs. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among clinicians, including cardiologists, neurologists, emergency physicians (EPs), general practitioners (GPs) and clinical pharmacists (CPs) using a self-administered questionnaire on the Chinese mainland. The survey contained 21 questions in combination with single-choice questions, multiple-choice questions, and an open-ended question, which was distributed online via e-mail or social media. A total of 562 participants (40.9% cardiologists, 19.2% neurologists, 8.5% EPs, 10.3% GPs, and 21.0% CPs) completed the survey. Most respondents across all specialties reported skills requiring improvements in the CHA2DS2-VASc score. In general, cardiologists, neurologists, and CPs had a relatively better understanding than GPs and EPs about the application of CHA2DS2-VASc score. Considering 'H' and 'D' components, more than 90% of respondents chose the correct answer in single-choice questions, whereas the correctness rate declined concerning detailed scoring criteria. Regarding 'C,' 'A2,' 'S2,' and 'V' components, partly correct answers were commonly observed in most multiple-choice questions. The majority of cardiologists believed themselves to be very familiar or at least familiar with the score and its components, while around 70% of EPs and GPs felt relatively unfamiliar with the CHA2DS2-VASc score. Mobile apps, AF guidelines and notebooks/handbooks were popular referencing scoring tools for respondents. Chinese medical professionals, especially EPs and GPs, revealed a lack of knowledge and insufficient skills for CHA2DS2-VASc scores and their components. Improvements in the awareness of the CHA2DS2-VASc score and its detailed scoring criteria are urgently needed for Chinese medical professionals.
