The article discusses cases of poisoning by crude oil in sheep and goats in Brazil. Topics covered include the clinical evaluation which revealed lateral recumbency with paddling, pupil dilatation and blindness, the lesions observed in the lungs and central nervous system and the toxic acute tubular nephrosis found in histopathological examination. Also mentioned is the risk of ingesting contaminated food when proper feed and salt are not made available.

The article presents a study which focuses on the French international company offering services in project management, engineering, and construction for the energy industry Technip, which was founded by the French government in 1958 and specialized in petroleum engineering. It analyzes the structural changes in the economies of developed countries since 1958 and the history of the company with focus given to three periods including 1958 to 1974, 1974 to 1994, and 1994 to 2012. France's petroleum policy during the 1950s, the role of technology in the company's growth, and Technip's development into an international company are discussed.
