The concept of the generalized entanglement wedge was recently proposed by Bousso and Penington, which states that any bulk gravitational region $a$ possesses an associated generalized entanglement wedge $E(a)\supset a$ on a static Cauchy surface $M$ in general gravitational spacetimes, where $E(a)$ may contain an entanglement island $I(a)$. It suggests that the fine-grained entropy for bulk region $a$ is given by the generalized entropy $S_{\text{gen}}(E(a))$. Motivated by this proposal, we extend the quantum bit thread description to general gravitational spacetimes, no longer limited to the AdS spacetime. By utilizing the convex optimization techniques, a dual flow description for the generalized entropy $S_{\text{gen}}(E(a))$ of a bulk gravitational region $a$ is established on the static Cauchy surface $M$, such that $S_{\text{gen}}(E(a))$ is equal to the maximum flux of any flow that starts from the boundary $\partial M$ and ends at bulk region $a$, or equivalently, the maximum number of bit threads that connect the boundary $\partial M$ to the bulk region $a$. In addition, the nesting property of flows is also proved. Thus the basic properties of the entropy for bulk regions, i.e. the monotonicity, subadditivity, Araki-Lieb inequality and strong subadditivity, can be verified from flow perspectives by using properties of flows, such as the nesting property. Moreover, in max thread configurations, we find that there exists some lower bounds on the bulk entanglement entropy of matter fields in the region $E(a)\setminus a$, particularly on an entanglement island region $I(a) \subset (E(a)\setminus a)$, as required by the existence of a nontrivial generalized entanglement wedge. Current serverless platforms struggle to optimize resource utilization due to their dynamic and fine-grained nature. Conventional techniques like overcommitment and autoscaling fall short, often sacrificing utilization for practicability or incurring performance trade-offs. Overcommitment requires predicting performance to prevent QoS violation, introducing trade-off between prediction accuracy and overheads. Autoscaling requires scaling instances in response to load fluctuations quickly to reduce resource wastage, but more frequent scaling also leads to more cold start overheads. This paper introduces Jiagu, which harmonizes efficiency with practicability through two novel techniques. First, pre-decision scheduling achieves accurate prediction while eliminating overheads by decoupling prediction and scheduling. Second, dual-staged scaling achieves frequent adjustment of instances with minimum overhead. We have implemented a prototype and evaluated it using real-world applications and traces from the public cloud platform. Our evaluation shows a 54.8% improvement in deployment density over commercial clouds (with Kubernetes) while maintaining QoS, and 81.0%--93.7% lower scheduling costs and a 57.4%--69.3% reduction in cold start latency compared to existing QoS-aware schedulers in research work., Comment: 17 pages, 17 figures

Modeling 3D avatars benefits various application scenarios such as AR/VR, gaming, and filming. Character faces contribute significant diversity and vividity as a vital component of avatars. However, building 3D character face models usually requires a heavy workload with commercial tools, even for experienced artists. Various existing sketch-based tools fail to support amateurs in modeling diverse facial shapes and rich geometric details. In this paper, we present SketchMetaFace - a sketching system targeting amateur users to model high-fidelity 3D faces in minutes. We carefully design both the user interface and the underlying algorithm. First, curvature-aware strokes are adopted to better support the controllability of carving facial details. Second, considering the key problem of mapping a 2D sketch map to a 3D model, we develop a novel learning-based method termed "Implicit and Depth Guided Mesh Modeling" (IDGMM). It fuses the advantages of mesh, implicit, and depth representations to achieve high-quality results with high efficiency. In addition, to further support usability, we present a coarse-to-fine 2D sketching interface design and a data-driven stroke suggestion tool. User studies demonstrate the superiority of our system over existing modeling tools in terms of the ease to use and visual quality of results. In this paper, we tackle the challenging problem of 3D keypoint estimation of general objects using a novel implicit representation. Previous works have demonstrated promising results for keypoint prediction through direct coordinate regression or heatmap-based inference. However, these methods are commonly studied for specific subjects, such as human bodies and faces, which possess fixed keypoint structures. They also suffer in several practical scenarios where explicit or complete geometry is not given, including images and partial point clouds. Inspired by the recent success of advanced implicit representation in reconstruction tasks, we explore the idea of using an implicit field to represent keypoints. Specifically, our key idea is employing spheres to represent 3D keypoints, thereby enabling the learnability of the corresponding signed distance field. Explicit keypoints can be extracted subsequently by our algorithm based on the Hough transform. We study the information paradox of Reissner-Nordstr${\ddot{o}}$m anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS$_{d+1}$) black holes in the large dimension limit by using the island formula. The entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation is calculated both for the non-extremal and the extremal cases, in which the boundary of the radiation region is close to the outer horizon. For the non-extremal case, the entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation obeys the Page curve, i.e. the entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation increases with time and reaches saturation about twice Bekenstein-Hawking entropy at the Page time. For the extremal case, the entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation becomes ill-defined in the absence of the island due to the appearance of the singularity at the origin of the radial coordinate, while when the island exists, the entanglement entropy is found to be equal to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. In addition, for the case where the boundary of the radiation region is close to the horizon, there are some obvious constraints required by the existence of island solution for both non-extremal and extremal cases, which can be utilized to put constraints on the size of the black hole. Extracting parametric edge curves from point clouds is a fundamental problem in 3D vision and geometry processing. Existing approaches mainly rely on keypoint detection, a challenging procedure that tends to generate noisy output, making the subsequent edge extraction error-prone. To address this issue, we propose to directly detect structured edges to circumvent the limitations of the previous point-wise methods. We achieve this goal by presenting NerVE, a novel neural volumetric edge representation that can be easily learned through a volumetric learning framework. NerVE can be seamlessly converted to a versatile piece-wise linear (PWL) curve representation, enabling a unified strategy for learning all types of free-form curves. Furthermore, as NerVE encodes rich structural information, we show that edge extraction based on NerVE can be reduced to a simple graph search problem. After converting NerVE to the PWL representation, parametric curves can be obtained via off-the-shelf spline fitting algorithms. We evaluate our method on the challenging ABC dataset. We show that a simple network based on NerVE can already outperform the previous state-of-the-art methods by a great margin. It is very challenging to accurately reconstruct sophisticated human geometry caused by various poses and garments from a single image. Recently, works based on pixel-aligned implicit function (PIFu) have made a big step and achieved state-of-the-art fidelity on image-based 3D human digitization. However, the training of PIFu relies heavily on expensive and limited 3D ground truth data (i.e. synthetic data), thus hindering its generalization to more diverse real world images. In this work, we propose an end-to-end self-supervised network named SelfPIFu to utilize abundant and diverse in-the-wild images, resulting in largely improved reconstructions when tested on unconstrained in-the-wild images. At the core of SelfPIFu is the depth-guided volume-/surface-aware signed distance fields (SDF) learning, which enables self-supervised learning of a PIFu without access to GT mesh. The whole framework consists of a normal estimator, a depth estimator, and a SDF-based PIFu and better utilizes extra depth GT during training. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our self-supervised framework and the superiority of using depth as input. On synthetic data, our Intersection-Over-Union (IoU) achieves to 93.5%, 18% higher compared with PIFuHD. For in-the-wild images, we conduct user studies on the reconstructed results, the selection rate of our results is over 68% compared with other state-of-the-art methods., Comment: CVM 2024

We reconsider $D\geq4$ dimensional asymptotically flat eternal Schwarzschild black hole, and focus on the situation where the inner boundary of the radiation region is chosen to be near the horizon (i.e. $\beta \ll1$). The tension between the near-horizon condition and the short-distance approximation emerges in large dimensions in $[JHEP 06 (2020) 085]$. We remove this tension by introducing a more proper near horizon condition, thus the resulting island solution is well-behaved in any $D\geq4$ dimensional spacetime. Interestingly, a novel constraint is obtained in this situation as required by the existence of the island solution, which directly leads to the constraints on the size of the Schwarzschild black hole, the position of the inner boundary for the radiation region, or the value of $c\cdot\tilde{G}_{N}$ in any $D\geq4$ dimension. When considering the large $D$ limit, the constraint on the size of the Schwarzschild black hole obtained in this situation is in agreement with the result given in $[Phys.Rev.D 102 (2020) 2, 026016]$. The celebrated holographic entanglement entropy triggered investigations on the connections between quantum information theory and quantum gravity. An important achievement is that we have gained more insights into the quantum states. It allows us to diagnose whether a given quantum state is a holographic state, a state whose bulk dual admits semiclassical geometrical description. The effective tool of this kind of diagnosis is holographic entropy cone (HEC), an entropy space bounded by holographic entropy inequalities allowed by the theory. To fix the HEC and to prove a given holographic entropy inequality, a proof-by-contraction technique has been developed. This method heavily depends on a contraction map $f$, which is very difficult to construct especially for more-region ($n\geq 4$) cases. In this work, we develop a general and effective rule to rule out most of the cases such that $f$ can be obtained in a relatively simple way. Great breakthrough in solving black hole information paradox took place when semiclassical island rule for entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation was proposed in recent years. Up to now, most papers which discussed island rule of asymptotic flat black hole with $D \ge 4$ focus on eternal black hole. In this paper, we take one more step further by discussing island of "in" vacuum state which describes one-sided asymptotically flat black hole formed by gravitational collapse in $D \ge 4$. We find that island $I$ emerges at late time and saves entropy bound. And boundary of island $\partial I$ depends on the position of cutoff surface. When cutoff surface is far from horizon, $\partial I$ is inside and near horizon. When cutoff surface is set to be near horizon, $\partial I$ is outside and near horizon. This is different from the case of eternal black hole in which $\partial I$ is always outside horizon no matter cutoff surface is far from or near horizon. Head shapes play an important role in 3D character design. In this work, we propose SimpModeling, a novel sketch-based system for helping users, especially amateur users, easily model 3D animalmorphic heads - a prevalent kind of heads in character design. Although sketching provides an easy way to depict desired shapes, it is challenging to infer dense geometric information from sparse line drawings. Recently, deepnet-based approaches have been taken to address this challenge and try to produce rich geometric details from very few strokes. However, while such methods reduce users' workload, they would cause less controllability of target shapes. This is mainly due to the uncertainty of the neural prediction. Our system tackles this issue and provides good controllability from three aspects: 1) we separate coarse shape design and geometric detail specification into two stages and respectively provide different sketching means; 2) in coarse shape designing, sketches are used for both shape inference and geometric constraints to determine global geometry, and in geometric detail crafting, sketches are used for carving surface details; 3) in both stages, we use the advanced implicit-based shape inference methods, which have strong ability to handle the domain gap between freehand sketches and synthetic ones used for training. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of our method and the usability of our interactive system. We also contribute to a dataset of high-quality 3D animal heads, which are manually created by artists.

In this work we focus on a toy model: (3+1)-dimensional Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity coupling with an anisotropic electromagnetic (EM) field which is generated through a Kaluza-Klein reduction of a (4+1)-dimensional Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity. This model exhibits a remarkable feature that it has the same velocity for both gravitational and electromagnetic waves. This feature makes it possible to restrict the parameters of the theory from GRB 170817A. In this work we use this feature to discuss possible constraints on the parameter $\beta$ in the theory, by analyzing the possible Lorentz invariance violation effect of the GRB 170817A. This is achieved by analyzing potential time delay of gamma-ray photons in this event. It turns out that it places a stringent constraint on this parameter. Using "complexity=action" proposal we study the late time growth rate of holographic complexity for nonlinear charged Lifshitz black hole with a single horizon or two horizons. As a toy model, we consider two kinds of such black holes: nonlinear charged Lifshitz black hole and nonlinear logarithmic charged Lifshitz black hole. We find that for the black hole with two horizons, the action growth bound is satisfied. But for the black hole with a single horizon, whether the Lloyd bound is violated depends on the specific value of dimensionless coupling constants $\beta_{1},\beta_{2}$, spacetime dimension $D$ and dynamical exponent $z$., Comment: 23 pages, 5 figures

High-fidelity clothing reconstruction is the key to achieving photorealism in a wide range of applications including human digitization, virtual try-on, etc. Recent advances in learning-based approaches have accomplished unprecedented accuracy in recovering unclothed human shape and pose from single images, thanks to the availability of powerful statistical models, e.g. SMPL, learned from a large number of body scans. In contrast, modeling and recovering clothed human and 3D garments remains notoriously difficult, mostly due to the lack of large-scale clothing models available for the research community. We propose to fill this gap by introducing Deep Fashion3D, the largest collection to date of 3D garment models, with the goal of establishing a novel benchmark and dataset for the evaluation of image-based garment reconstruction systems. Deep Fashion3D contains 2078 models reconstructed from real garments, which covers 10 different categories and 563 garment instances. It provides rich annotations including 3D feature lines, 3D body pose and the corresponded multi-view real images. In addition, each garment is randomly posed to enhance the variety of real clothing deformations. To demonstrate the advantage of Deep Fashion3D, we propose a novel baseline approach for single-view garment reconstruction, which leverages the merits of both mesh and implicit representations. A novel adaptable template is proposed to enable the learning of all types of clothing in a single network. Extensive experiments have been conducted on the proposed dataset to verify its significance and usefulness. We introduce FPConv, a novel surface-style convolution operator designed for 3D point cloud analysis. Unlike previous methods, FPConv doesn't require transforming to intermediate representation like 3D grid or graph and directly works on surface geometry of point cloud. To be more specific, for each point, FPConv performs a local flattening by automatically learning a weight map to softly project surrounding points onto a 2D grid. Regular 2D convolution can thus be applied for efficient feature learning. FPConv can be easily integrated into various network architectures for tasks like 3D object classification and 3D scene segmentation, and achieve comparable performance with existing volumetric-type convolutions. More importantly, our experiments also show that FPConv can be a complementary of volumetric convolutions and jointly training them can further boost overall performance into state-of-the-art results., Comment: Camera-ready, accepted to CVPR 2020

There are increasing evidences that quantum information theory has come to play a fundamental role in quantum gravity especially the holography. In this paper, we show some new potential connections between holography and quantum information theory. Particularly, by utilizing the multiflow description of the holographic entanglement of purification (HEoP) defined in relative homology, we obtain several new inequalities of HEoP under a max multiflow configuration. Each inequality derived for HEoP has a corresponding inequality of the holographic entanglement entropy (HEE). This is further confirmed by geometric analysis. The entanglement of purification (EoP), which measures the classical correlations and entanglement of a given mixed state, has been conjectured to be dual to the area of the minimal cross section of the entanglement wedge in holography. Using the surface-state correspondence, we propose a `bit thread' formulation of the EoP. With this formulation, proofs of some known properties of the EoP are performed. Moreover, we show that the quantum advantage of dense code (QAoDC), which reflects the increase in the rate of classical information transmission through quantum channel due to entanglement, also admits a flow interpretation. In this picture, we can prove the monogamy relation of QAoDC with the EoP for tripartite states. We present a deep reinforcement learning method of progressive view inpainting for 3D point scene completion under volume guidance, achieving high-quality scene reconstruction from only a single depth image with severe occlusion. Our approach is end-to-end, consisting of three modules: 3D scene volume reconstruction, 2D depth map inpainting, and multi-view selection for completion. Given a single depth image, our method first goes through the 3D volume branch to obtain a volumetric scene reconstruction as a guide to the next view inpainting step, which attempts to make up the missing information; the third step involves projecting the volume under the same view of the input, concatenating them to complete the current view depth, and integrating all depth into the point cloud. Since the occluded areas are unavailable, we resort to a deep Q-Network to glance around and pick the next best view for large hole completion progressively until a scene is adequately reconstructed while guaranteeing validity. All steps are learned jointly to achieve robust and consistent results. In this paper, we propose the first sketching system for interactively personalized and photorealistic face caricaturing. Input an image of a human face, the users can create caricature photos by manipulating its facial feature curves. Our system firstly performs exaggeration on the recovered 3D face model according to the edited sketches, which is conducted by assigning the laplacian of each vertex a scaling factor. To construct the mapping between 2D sketches and a vertex-wise scaling field, a novel deep learning architecture is developed. With the obtained 3D caricature model, two images are generated, one obtained by applying 2D warping guided by the underlying 3D mesh deformation and the other obtained by re-rendering the deformed 3D textured model. These two images are then seamlessly integrated to produce our final output. Due to the severely stretching of meshes, the rendered texture is of blurry appearances. A deep learning approach is exploited to infer the missing details for enhancing these blurry regions. Moreover, a relighting operation is invented to further improve the photorealism of the result. We study the $B_s \to \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $B_d \to K^+ K^-$ decays in the standard model and the family non-universal $Z^\prime$ model. Since none of the quarks in final states is the same as the initial quark, these decay modes can occur only via power-suppressed annihilation diagrams. Despite the consistence of the standard model prediction with the available data, there is a surviving room for a light $Z^\prime$ boson. Taking into account the $Z^\prime$ contribution, we find theoretical results for branching fractions can better accommodate the data. With the relevant data, we also derive a constraint on the parameter space for the $Z^\prime$. Moreover, for the $B_d \to K^+ K^-$, both the direct and the mixing-induced $CP$ asymmetry are sensitive to the couplings between $Z^\prime$ and fermions in the parameter spaces constrained by data. The measurements at future experimental facilities, including the LHC-b, Belle-II and the proposed high energy $e^+e^-$ collider, will provide us useful hints for direct searching for the light $Z^\prime$ boson., Comment: 10 pages, 7 figures

We study $B_s^0 \to J/\psi f_0(980)$ decays, the quark content of $f_0(980)$ and the mixing angle of $f_0(980)$ and $\sigma(600)$. We calculate not only the factorizable contribution in QCD facorization scheme but also the nonfactorizable hard spectator corrections in QCDF and pQCD approach. We get consistent result with the experimental data of $B_s^0 \to J/\psi f_0(980)$ and predict the branching ratio of $B_s^0 \to J/\psi \sigma$. We suggest two ways to determine $f_0-\sigma$ mixing angle $\theta$. Using the experimental measured branching ratio of $B_s^0 \to J/\psi f_0(980) $, we can get the $f_0-\sigma$ mixing angle $\theta$ with some theoretical uncertainties. We suggest another way to determine $f_0-\sigma$ mixing angle $\theta$ using both of experimental measured decay branching ratios $B_s^0 \to J/\psi f_0(980) (\sigma)$ to avoid theoretical uncertainties., Comment: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:0707.2631

We calculate the branching ratio of $B\to J/\Psi\pi^{0}$ with a mixed formalism that combines the QCD-improved factorization and the perturbative QCD approaches. The result is consistent with experimental data. The quite small penguin contribution in $B\to J/\Psi\pi^{0}$ decay can be calculated with this method. We suggest two methods to extract the weak phase $\beta$. One is through the dependence of the mixing induced CP asymmetry $S_{J/\Psi\pi^{0}}$ on the weak phase$\beta$, the other is from the relation of the total asymmetry $A_{CP}$ with the weak phase $\beta$. Our result shows that the deviation $ \bigtriangleup S_{J/\psi\pi^0}$ of the mixing induced CP asymmetry from $Sin(-2\beta)$ is of $ \mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ and has much less uncertainty. The above $ \mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ deviation can provide a good reference for identifying new physics., Comment: 12page,5figures

The Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays are studied with the perturbative QCD approach. It is found that form factors and branching ratios are sensitive to the parameters w, v, f_J/psi and f_etac, where w and v are the parameters of the charmonium wave functions for Coulomb potential and harmonic oscillator potential, respectively, f_J/psi and f_etac are the decay constants of the J/psi and etac mesons, respectively. The large branching ratios and the clear signals of the final states make the Bc --> J/psi pi, etac pi decays to be the prospective channels for measurements at the hadron colliders, Comment: 21 pages, revtex4

We study $B\to J/\Psi \eta^{(\prime)}$ decays and suggest two methods to determine the $\eta-\eta^{\prime}$ mixing angle. We calculate not only the factorizable contribution in QCD facorization scheme but also the nonfactorizable hard spectator corrections in pQCD approach. We get the branching ratio of $B\to J/\Psi \eta$ which is consistent with recent experimental data and predict the branching ratio of $B\to J/\Psi \eta^{\prime}$ to be $7.59\times 10^{-6}$. Two methods for determining $\eta-\eta^{\prime}$ mixing angle are suggested in this paper. For the first method, we get the $\eta-\eta^{\prime}$ mixing angle to be about $-13.1^{\circ}$, which is in consistency with others in the literature. The second method depends on less parameters so can be used to determine the $\eta-\eta^{\prime}$ mixing angle with better accuracy but needs, as an input, the branching ratio for $B\to J/\Psi \eta^{\prime}$which should be measured in the near future., Comment: 16pages,4figures

We calculate the branching ratio of $D^0 \to \phi \bar K^0$ decay using the so-called perturbation QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. Our result shows this branching ratio is $(8.7 \pm1.4)\times 10^{-3}$, which is consistent with experimental data. We investigate the branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries of $B_c^+\to D^0\pi^+$ and $B_c^+\to D^+\pi^0$ decays in the PQCD approach. All the diagrams with emission topology or annihilation topology are calculated strictly. A branching ratio of $10^{-6}$ and $10^{-7}$ for $B_c^+\to D^0\pi^+$ and $B_c^+\to D^+\pi^0$ decay is predicted, respectively. Because of the different weak phase and strong phase from penguin operator and two kinds of tree operator contributions, we predict a possible large direct CP violation: $A^{\rm dir}_{cp} (B_c^\pm \to D^0 \pi^\pm)\approx -50%$ and $A^{\rm dir}_{cp} (B_c^\pm \to D^\pm \pi^0)\approx 25%$ when $\gamma=55^\circ$, which can be tested in the coming LHC., Comment: The numerical results have been updated and some errors have been corrected. We calculate the mass and decay constant of $I=1/2$ scalar mesons composed of quark-antiquark pairs based on QCD sum rule. The quauk-antiquark pairs can be $s\bar{q}$ or $q\bar{s}$ ($q=u,d$) in quark model, the quantum numbers of spin and orbital angular momentum are S=1, L=1. We obtain the mass of the ground sate in this channel is $1.410\pm 0.049$GeV. This result favors that $K_{0}^{\ast}(1430)$ is the lowest scalar state of $s\bar{q}$ or $q\bar{s}$. We calculate $D_s^+\to \phi$ transition form factors $V$, $A_0$, $A_1$ and $A_2$, and study semileptonic decay of $D_s^+\to \phi \bar{\ell}\nu$ based on QCD sum rule method. We compare our results of the ratios of $V(0)/A_1(0)$, $A_2(0)/A_1(0)$, $\Gamma_L/\Gamma_T$, and the total decay branching ratio of $D_s^+\to \phi \bar{\ell}\nu$ with experimental data, and find that they are consistent., Comment: version to appear in Eur.Phys.J.C

We study the one-loop renormalization the standard model with anomalous Higgs couplings ($O(p^2)$) by using the background field method, and provide the whole divergence structure at one loop level. In the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with complex parameters, supersymmetric loop effects can lead to \emph{CP} violation. We calculate the rate asymmetries of decays of charginos into the lightest neutralino and a $W$ boson on the basis of the most important loop contributions in the third generation squark sectors. It turns out that the \emph{CP} violating asymmetries can be a few per cent in typical regions of the parameter space of the MSSM. We study the renormalization of the nonlinear effective SU(2) Lagrangian up to $O(p^4)$ with spontaneous symmetry breaking. The Stueckelberg transformation, the background field gauge, the Schwinger proper time and heat kernel method, and the covariant short distance expansion technology, guarantee the gauge covariance and incooperate the Ward indentities in our calculations. The renormalization group equations of the effective couplings are derived and analyzed. We study the renormalization of the nonlinear effective U(1) Lagrangian up to $O(p^4)$ with spontaneous symmetry breaking. The problems of the quartic divergences and of the truncation of infinite divergence tower are addressed. The renormalization group equations of the effective Lagrangian are derived, which make it possible to get the leading logarithm corrections of the heavy degree of freedom, even if the effective and full theories are matched at tree level. We investigate the production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in association with tau sleptons in the CP violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) at future high-energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ linear colliders. In parameter space of the constrained MSSM, the production cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\to h^0\widetilde{\tau}^+_1\widetilde{\tau}^-_1$ can be very substantial at high energies. We employ one-particle-exchange method to study D-->PV decays in D-->K \rho, \pi K*, \pi \rho processes. Taking into account a strong phase and considering nonfactorizable effect, we can get good results consistent with the experimental data. Nonfactorizable effect is not always large, but in some cases, the nonfactorizable effect is nececcesary to accommodate the experimental data. We investigate CP violation asymmetry in the decay of tau slepton into a tau neutrino and a chargino in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The new source of CP violation is the complex mixing in the tau slepton sector. The rate asymmetry between the decays of tau slepton and its CP conjugate process can be of order of $10^{-3}$ in some region of the parameter space of the mSUGRA scenario, which will possibly be detectable in the near-future collider experiments., Comment: 18 pages, 7figures, LaTex2e

We study $D \to \pi\pi$ decays with final state interactions considered in one-particle-exchange method. A clear physical picture for final state interactions based on quark and hadronic level diagrams is presented. A strong phase is introduced for hadronic effective couplings, which is crucial for explaining the experimental data of $D^+\to \pi^+\pi^0$, $D^0\to \pi^+\pi^-$, and $D^0\to \pi^0\pi^0$. Rescattering effects between different $D$ decay channels are usually large. We use the external field method to study the electroweak chiral Lagrangian of the extra dimension model with brane fluctuation. Under the assumption that the contact terms between the matters of the standard model and KK excitations are heavily suppressed, we use the standard procedure to integrate out the quantum fields of KK excitations and the equation of motion to eliminate the classic fields of KK excitations. At one-loop level, we find that up to the order $O(p^4)$, due to the momentum conservation of the fifth dimension and the gauge symmetry of the zero modes, there is no constraint on the size of extra dimension. This result is consistent with the decoupling theorem. However, meaningful constraints can come from those operators in $O(p^6)$, which can contribute considerably to some anomalous vector couplings and can be accessible in the LC and LHC., Comment: Revised version, 20 pages in ReVTeX, to appear in PRD

In this letter we show that in the extra dimension model, contrary to the widely accepted conception, the simply truncated $\phi^4$ and non-Abelian SU(N) Kaluza-Klein theories are not renormalizable, i.e. the tree level relations of the effective theories can not sustain the quantum corrections. The breaking down of the tree level relations of the effective theories can be traced back to several factors: the breaking of the higher dimension Lorentz symmetry and higher dimension gauge symmetry, interactions assumed in the underlying Lagrangians, and the dimension reduction and rescaling procedure., Comment: Conclusions are rewritten. 17 pages, two figures, to appear in P.R.D

The end-point singularity is an unsolved problem in BBNS approach. Incorporating the partonic transverse momentum and the Sudakov form factor, this problem can be solved model-independently. Cascade mixing provides an elegant place to study the $B^0-\bar{B^0}$ mixing. We use this idea to study the CPT violation caused by $B^0-\bar{B^0}$ mixing. An approximation method is adopted to treat the two complex $B^0-\bar{B^0}$ mixing parameters $\theta$ and $\phi$. A procedure to extract the parameters $\theta$ and $\phi$ is suggested. We study the final-state interactions in $B \to \pi K$ decays through $B \to VV \to \pi K$ processes where the inelastic rescattering occurs via single pion exchange. The next-to-leading order low energy effective Hamiltonian and BSW model are used to evaluate the weak transition matrix elements and the final-state interactions. We found that the final-state interaction effects in $B \to \rho K^* \to \pi K$ processes are significant. The momentum distribution for the $\eta'$ meson produced through the inclusive decay $B\to \eta'X$ is investigated under two decay mechanisms, $b\to\eta's$ and $b\to \eta' s g$. Although all these two mechanisms can explain the recently observed decay rate of $B\to \eta'X$, the momentum spectrums for $\eta'$ meson predicted by them are strongly different. In this work we study the CP violation for $\bar{B^0}\to J/\psi K_s$ and $\bar{B^0}\to \phi K_s$ up to leading and next-to-leading order QCD corrections in the standard model, two-Higgs-doublet model and the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model. We also study the effect of new physics on the branching ratios of these two decay modes. We find that within the parameter space constrained by the observation of the decay $b\to s\gamma$, new physics does not affect the CP asymmetries greatly, and the prediction of new physics to the branching ratios of $\bar{B^0}\to J/\psi K_s$ and $\bar{B^0}\to \phi K_s$ is the same as that of the standard model up to a minor discrepancy as far as the Yukama couplying constants are perturbative., Comment: some figures being reduced, accepted by J. Using the next-to-leading order low energy effective Hamiltonian for $\Delta B=1$ transitions, the effects of electroweak penguin operators in some two-body decay modes of $B_s^0$ meson are estimated in the Standard Model (SM). We find that in $B_s^0\to\pi^+ K^-$ and $B_s^0\to K^+K^-$ decay modes, the electroweak penguin effects are small, while in $B_s^0\to\pi^0\bar{K^0}$, $\phi\bar{K^0}$, $\phi\phi$, the electroweak penguin operators enhance or reduce the pure QCD penguin and tree level contributions by $20%\sim 80%$ in decay width.
