Altermagnetism became very popular because of unique features, namely coupling between magnetic properties and momentum of itinerant electrons. The particular model of the altermagnetic system of our interest has already been studied in recent publications in a different context: Phys. Rev. B \textbf{108}, L140408 (2023). Here, we study the scattering process of an itinerant electron from the altermagnetic system on the electron localized in a quantum dot. We found a spatially inhomogeneous distribution of quantum entanglement in the post-scattering state. An interesting observation is the controlled rotation of entanglement achieved by means of spin-orbital coupling constant in altermagnetic. We also studied Reny entropy and the effect of disorder in the system leading to randomness in the spin-orbit constant. Our main finding is that due to the unique properties of an altermagnetic system, tuning the applied external magnetic field allows tailoring of the desired entangled state. Thus, the scattering process, in essence, mimics the Hadamard-CNOT Gate transformation, converting the initial disentangled state into the entangled state of Bell's state. We present a novel approach to cavity ring-down spectroscopy utilizing an optical frequency comb as the direct probe of the Fabry-Perot cavity, coupled with a time-resolved Fourier transform spectrometer for parallel retrieval of ring-down events. Our method achieves high spectral resolution over a broad range, enabling precision measurements of cavity losses and absorption lineshapes with enhanced sensitivity. A critical advancement involves a stabilization technique ensuring complete extinction of comb light without compromising cavity stabilization. We demonstrate the capabilities of our system through precision spectroscopy of carbon monoxide rovibrational transitions perturbed by argon.

Dynamical quantum phase transitions are non-analyticities in a dynamical free energy (or return rate) which occur at critical times. Although extensively studied in one dimension, the exact nature of the non-analyticity in two and three dimensions has not yet been fully investigated. In two dimensions, results so far are known only for relatively simple two-band models. Here we study the general two- and three-dimensional cases. We establish the relation between the non-analyticities in different dimensions, and the functional form of the densities of Fisher zeroes. We show, in particular, that entering a critical region where the density of Fisher zeroes is non-zero at the boundary always leads to a cusp in the derivative of the return rate while the return rate itself is smooth. We illustrate our results by obtaining analytical results for exemplary two- and three-dimensional models.

The first generation of ELT instruments includes an optical-infrared high-resolution spectrograph, indicated as ELT-HIRES and recently christened ANDES (ArmazoNes high Dispersion Echelle Spectrograph). ANDES consists of three fibre-fed spectrographs ([U]BV, RIZ, YJH) providing a spectral resolution of $\sim$100,000 with a minimum simultaneous wavelength coverage of 0.4-1.8 $\mu$m with the goal of extending it to 0.35-2.4 $\mu$m with the addition of a U arm to the BV spectrograph and a separate K band spectrograph. It operates both in seeing- and diffraction-limited conditions and the fibre feeding allows several, interchangeable observing modes including a single conjugated adaptive optics module and a small diffraction-limited integral field unit in the NIR. Modularity and fibre-feeding allow ANDES to be placed partly on the ELT Nasmyth platform and partly in the Coud\'e room. ANDES has a wide range of groundbreaking science cases spanning nearly all areas of research in astrophysics and even fundamental physics. Among the top science cases, there are the detection of biosignatures from exoplanet atmospheres, finding the fingerprints of the first generation of stars, tests on the stability of Nature's fundamental couplings, and the direct detection of the cosmic acceleration. Non-thermal molecular plasmas play a crucial role in numerous industrial processes and hold significant potential for driving essential chemical transformations. Accurate information about the molecular composition of the plasmas and the distribution of populations among quantum states is essential for understanding and optimizing plasma processes. Here, we apply a mid-infrared frequency comb-based Fourier transform spectrometer to measure high-resolution spectra of plasmas containing hydrogen, nitrogen, and a carbon source in the 2800 - 3400 cm$^{-1}$ range. The spectrally broadband and high-resolution capabilities of this technique enable quantum-state-resolved spectroscopy of multiple plasma-generated species simultaneously, including CH$_4$, C$_2$H$_2$, C$_2$H$_6$, NH$_3$, and HCN, providing detailed information beyond the limitations of current methods. Using a line-by-line fitting approach, we analyzed 548 resolved transitions across five vibrational bands of plasma-generated HCN. The results indicate a significant non-thermal distribution of the populations among the quantum states, with distinct temperatures observed for lower and higher rotational quantum numbers, with a temperature difference of about 62 K. Broadband state-resolved-spectroscopy via comb-based methods provides unprecedented fundamental insights into the non-thermal nature of molecular plasmas - a detailed picture that has never been accomplished before for such complex non-thermal environment.

In this paper, we study parameter identification for solutions to (possibly non-linear) SDEs driven by additive Rosenblatt process and singularity of the induced laws on the path space. We propose a joint estimator for the drift parameter, diffusion intensity, and Hurst index that can be computed from discrete-time observations with a bounded time horizon and we prove its strong consistency (as well as the speed of convergence) under in-fill asymptotics with a fixed time horizon. As a consequence of this strong consistency, singularity of measures generated by the solutions with different drifts is shown. We developed a mid-infrared optical frequency comb-based Fourier-transform spectrometer and performed a line-shape study of the fundamental vibrational band of CO perturbed by N${_2}$, which is crucial for atmospheric science and astronomical observations. The comb-based FTS enabled us to measure the whole vibrational band with high resolution and precision at several pressures between 10 and 400 Torr. Observed absorption profiles were fitted with the speed-dependent Voigt profile. Collisional broadening, speed-dependent collisional width and shift coefficients are derived. In this article we demonstrate that dynamical quantum phase transitions occur for an exemplary higher order topological insulator, the Benalcazar-Bernevig-Hughes model, following quenches across a topological phase boundary. A dynamical bulk boundary correspondence is also seen both in the eigenvalues of the Loschmidt overlap matrix and the boundary return rate. The latter is found from a finite size scaling analysis for which the relative simplicity of the model is crucial. Contrary to the usual two dimensional case the dynamical quantum phase transitions in this model show up as cusps in the return rate, as for a one dimensional model, rather than as cusps in its derivative as would be typical for a two dimensional model. We explain the origin of this behaviour.

Measurements done on the quantum systems are too specific. Contrary to their classical counterparts, quantum measurements can be invasive and destroy the state of interest. Besides, quantumness limits the accuracy of measurements done on quantum systems. Uncertainty relations define the universal accuracy limit of the quantum measurements. Relatively recently, it was discovered that quantum correlations and quantum memory might reduce the uncertainty of quantum measurements. In the present work, we study two different types of measurements done on the topological system. Namely, we discuss measurements done on the spin operators and the canonical pair of operators: momentum and coordinate. We quantify the spin operator's measurements through the entropic measures of uncertainty and exploit the concept of quantum memory. While for the momentum and coordinate operators, we exploit the improved uncertainty relations. We discovered that quantum memory reduces the uncertainties of spin measurements. On the hand, we proved that the uncertainties in the measurements of the coordinate and momentum operators depend on the value of the momentum and are substantially enhanced at small distances between itinerant and localized electrons (the large momentum limit). We note that the topological nature of the system leads to the spin-momentum locking. The momentum of the electron depends on the spin and vice versa. Therefore, we suggest the indirect measurement scheme for the momentum and coordinate operators through the spin operator. Due to the factor of quantum memory, such indirect measurements in topological insulators have smaller uncertainties rather than direct measurements.

Dynamical quantum phase transitions occur in dynamically evolving quantum systems when non-analyticities occur at critical times in the return rate, a dynamical analogue of the free energy. This extension of the concept of phase transitions can be brought into contact with another, namely that of topological phase transitions in which the phase transition is marked by a change in a topological invariant. Following a quantum quench dynamical quantum phase transitions can happen in topological matter, a fact which has already been explored in one dimensional topological insulators and in two dimensional Chern insulators. Additionally in one dimensional systems a dynamical bulk boundary correspondence has been seen, related to the periodic appearance of zero modes of the Loschmidt echo itself. Here we extend both of these concepts to two dimensional higher order topological matter, in which the topologically protected boundary modes are corner modes. We consider a minimal model which encompasses all possible forms of higher order topology in two dimensional topological band structures. We find that DQPTs can still occur, and can occur for quenches which cross both bulk and boundary gap closings. Furthermore a dynamical bulk boundary correspondence is also found, which takes a different form to that in one dimension.

The spin-dependent scattering process in a system of topological insulator and quantum dot is studied. The unitary scattering process is viewed as a gate transformation applied to an initial state of two electrons. Due to the randomness imposed through the impurities and alloying-induced effects of band parameters, the formalism of the random unitary gates is implemented. For quantifying entanglement in the system, we explored concurrence and ensemble-averaged R\'enyi entropy. We found that applied external magnetic field leads to long-range entanglement on the distances much larger than the confinement length. We showed that topological features of itinerant electrons sustain the formation of robust long-distance entanglement, which survives even in the presence of a strong disorder., Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures

Frequency combs have revolutionized optical frequency metrology, allowing one to determine highly accurate transition frequencies of a wealth of molecular species. Despite a recognized scientific interest, these progresses have only marginally benefited infrared-inactive transitions, due to their inherently weak cross-sections. Here we overcome this limitation by introducing stimulated-Raman-scattering metrology, where a frequency comb is exploited to calibrate the frequency detuning between the pump and Stokes excitation lasers. We apply this approach to molecular hydrogen to test quantum electrodynamics. We measure the transition frequency of the Q(1) fundamental line of H$_2$ around 4155 cm$^{-1}$ with few parts-per-billion uncertainty, which is comparable to the theoretical benchmark of ab initio calculations and more than a decade better than the experimental state of the art. Our comb-calibrated stimulated Raman scattering spectrometer extends the toolkit of optical frequency metrology as it can be applied, with simple technical changes, to many other infrared-inactive transitions, over a 50-5000 cm$^{-1}$ range that covers also purely rotational bands.

IceAct is a proposed surface array of compact (50 cm diameter) and cost-effective Imaging Air Cherenkov Telescopes installed at the site of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the geographic South Pole. Since January 2019, two IceAct telescope demonstrators, featuring 61 silicon pho- tomultiplier (SiPM) pixels have been taking data in the center of the IceTop surface array during the austral winter. We present the first analysis of hybrid cosmic ray events detected by the IceAct imaging air-Cherenkov telescopes in coincidence with the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, includ- ing the IceTop surface array and the IceCube in-ice array. By featuring an energy threshold of about 10 TeV and a wide field-of-view, the IceAct telescopes show promising capabilities of im- proving current cosmic ray composition studies: measuring the Cherenkov light emissions in the atmosphere adds new information about the shower development not accessible with the current detectors, enabling significantly better primary particle type discrimination on a statistical basis. The hybrid measurement also allows for detailed feasibility studies of detector cross-calibration and of cosmic ray veto capabilities for neutrino analyses. Cavity ring-down spectroscopy is a ubiquitous optical method used to study light-matter interactions with high resolution, sensitivity and accuracy. However, it has never been performed with the multiplexing advantages of direct frequency comb spectroscopy without sacrificing orders of magnitude of resolution. We present dual-comb cavity ring-down spectroscopy (DC-CRDS) based on the parallel heterodyne detection of ring-down signals with a local oscillator comb to yield absorption and dispersion spectra. These spectra are obtained from widths and positions of cavity modes. We present two approaches which leverage the dynamic cavity response to coherently or randomly driven changes in the amplitude or frequency of the probe field. Both techniques yield accurate spectra of methane - an important greenhouse gas and breath biomarker. In the article, integration of temporal functions in (possibly non-UMD) Banach spaces with respect to (possibly non-Gaussian) fractional processes from a finite sum of Wiener chaoses is treated. The family of fractional processes that is considered includes, for example, fractional Brownian motions of any Hurst parameter or, more generally, fractionally filtered generalized Hermite processes. The class of Banach spaces that is considered includes a large variety of the most commonly used function spaces such as the Lebesgue spaces, Sobolev spaces, or, more generally, the Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces. In the article, a characterization of the domains of the Wiener integrals on both bounded and unbounded intervals is given for both scalar and cylindrical fractional processes. In general, the integrand takes values in the space of $\gamma$-radonifying operators from a certain homogeneous Sobolev-Slobodeckii space into the considered Banach space. Moreover, an equivalent characterization in terms of a pointwise kernel of the integrand is also given if the considered Banach space is isomorphic with a subspace of a cartesian product of mixed Lebesgue spaces. The results are subsequently applied to stochastic convolution for which both necessary and sufficient conditions for measurability and sufficient conditions for continuity are found. As an application, space-time continuity of the solution to a parabolic equation of order $2m$ with distributed noise of low time regularity is shown as well as measurability of the solution to the heat equation with Neumann boundary noise of higher regularity., Comment: 36 pages

We report the most accurate measurement of the position of the weak quadrupole S(2) 2-0 line in D$_2$. The spectra were collected with a frequency-stabilized cavity ring-down spectrometer (FS-CRDS) with an ultra-high finesse optical cavity ($\mathcal{F}$ = 637 000) and operating in the frequency-agile, rapid scanning spectroscopy (FARS) mode. Despite working in the Doppler-limited regime, we reached 40 kHz of statistical uncertainty and 161 kHz of absolute accuracy, achieving the highest accuracy for homonuclear isotopologues of molecular hydrogen. The accuracy of our measurement corresponds to the fifth significant digit of the leading term in QED correction. We investigate the Loschmidt amplitude and dynamical quantum phase transitions in multiband one dimensional topological insulators. For this purpose we introduce a new solvable multiband model based on the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, generalized to unit cells containing many atoms but with the same symmetry properties. Such models have a richer structure of dynamical quantum phase transitions than the simple two-band topological insulator models typically considered previously, with both quasiperiodic and aperiodic dynamical quantum phase transitions present. Moreover the aperiodic transitions can still occur for quenches within a single topological phase. We also investigate the boundary contributions from the presence of the topologically protected edge states of this model. Plateaus in the boundary return rate are related to the topology of the time evolving Hamiltonian, and hence to a dynamical bulk-boundary correspondence. We go on to consider the dynamics of the entanglement entropy generated after a quench, and its potential relation to the critical times of the dynamical quantum phase transitions. Finally, we investigate the fidelity susceptibility as an indicator of the topological phase transitions, and find a simple scaling law as a function of the number of bands of our multiband model which is found to be the same for both bulk and boundary fidelity susceptibilities., Comment: 14 pages, 20 figures

We experimentally demonstrate in a difference-frequency generation mid-infrared frequency comb source the effect of temporal overlap between pump- and signal- pulse to the relative intensity noise (RIN) of the idler pulse. When scanning the temporal delay between our 130 fs long signal- and pump pulses, we observe a RIN minimum with a 3 dB width of 20 fs delay and an RIN increase of 20 dB in 40 fs delay at the edges of this minimum. We also demonstrate active long-term stabilization of the mid-infrared frequency comb source to the temporal overlap setting corresponding to the lowest RIN operation point by an on-line RIN-detector and active feedback control of the pump-signal- pulse delay. This active stabilization set-up allowed us to dramatically increase the signal-to-noise ratio of mid-infrared absorption spectra.

Linear filtering problem for infinite-dimensional Gaussian processes is studied, the observation process being finite-dimensional. Integral equations for the filter and for covariance of the error are derived. General results are applied to linear SPDEs driven by Gauss-Volterra process observed at finitely many points of the domain.

There is a wide array of existing instruments used to assess childhood behavior and development for the evaluation of social, emotional and behavioral disorders. Many of these instruments either focus on one diagnostic category or encompass a broad set of childhood behaviors. We built an extensive ontology of the questions associated with key features that have diagnostic relevance for child behavioral conditions, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and anxiety, by incorporating a subset of existing child behavioral instruments and categorizing each question into clinical domains. Each existing question and set of question responses were then mapped to a new unique Rosetta question and set of answer codes encompassing the semantic meaning and identified concept(s) of as many existing questions as possible. This resulted in 1274 existing instrument questions mapping to 209 Rosetta questions creating a minimal set of questions that are comprehensive of each topic and subtopic. This resulting ontology can be used to create more concise instruments across various ages and conditions, as well as create more robust overlapping datasets for both clinical and research use.

Central limit theorems and asymptotic properties of the minimum-contrast estimators of the drift parameter in linear stochastic evolution equations driven by fractional Brownian motion are studied. Both singular ($H < \frac{1}{2})$ and regular ($H > \frac{1}{2})$ types of fractional Brownian motion are considered. Strong consistency is achieved by ergodicity of the stationary solution. The fundamental tool for the limit theorems and asymptotic normality (shown for Hurst parameter $H < \frac{3}{4}$) is the so-called $4^{th}$ moment theorem considered on the second Wiener chaos. This technique provides also the Berry-Esseen-type bounds for the speed of the convergence. We present absolute frequency measurement of the unperturbed P7 P7 O$_2$ B-band transition with relative standard uncertainty of $2\times10^{-11}$. We reached the level of accuracy typical for Doppler-free techniques, with Doppler-limited spectroscopy. The Doppler-limited shapes of the P7 P7 spectral line were measured with a frequency-stabilized cavity ring-down spectrometer referenced to an $^{88}$Sr optical atomic clock by an optical frequency comb.

Space-time regularity of linear stochastic partial differential equations is studied. The solution is defined in the mild sense in the state space $L^p$. The corresponding regularity is obtained by showing that the stochastic convolution integrals are H\"{o}lder continuous in a suitable function space. In particular cases, this allows to show space-time H\"{o}lder continuity of the solution. The quality of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) radio observations predominantly relies on precise and ultra-stable time and frequency (T&F) standards, usually hydrogen masers (HM), maintained locally at each VLBI station. Here, we present an operational solution in which the VLBI observations are routinely carried out without use of a local HM, but using remote synchronization via a stabilized, long-distance fibre-optic link. The T&F reference signals, traceable to international atomic timescale (TAI), are delivered to the VLBI station from a dedicated timekeeping laboratory. We study the long-time behavior of solutions to a stochastically driven Navier-Stokes system describing the motion of a compressible viscous fluid driven by a temporal multiplicative white noise perturbation. The existence of stationary solutions is established in the framework of Lebesgue--Sobolev spaces pertinent to the class of weak martingale solutions. The methods are based on new global-in-time estimates and a combination of deterministic and stochastic compactness arguments. In contrast with the deterministic case, where related results were obtained only under rather restrictive constitutive assumptions for the pressure, the stochastic case is tractable in the full range of constitutive relations allowed by the available existence theory. This can be seen as a kind of regularizing effect of the noise on the global-in-time solutions.

Broadband precision spectroscopy is indispensable for providing high fidelity molecular parameters for spectroscopic databases. We have recently shown that mechanical Fourier transform spectrometers based on optical frequency combs can measure broadband high-resolution molecular spectra undistorted by the instrumental line shape (ILS) and with a highly precise frequency scale provided by the comb. The accurate measurement of the power of the comb modes interacting with the molecular sample was achieved by acquiring single-burst interferograms with nominal resolution precisely matched to the comb mode spacing. Here we give a full theoretical description of this sub-nominal resolution method and describe in detail the experimental and numerical steps needed to retrieve ILS-free molecular spectra, i.e. with ILS-induced distortion below the noise level. We investigate the accuracy of the transition line centers retrieved by fitting to the absorption lines measured using this method. We verify the performance by measuring an ILS-free cavity-enhanced low-pressure spectrum of the 3{\nu}1+{\nu}3 band of CO2. We observe and quantify collisional narrowing of absorption line shape, for the first time with a comb-based spectroscopic technique. Thus retrieval of line shape parameters with accuracy not limited by the Voigt profile is now possible for entire absorption bands acquired simultaneously.

A stochastic affine evolution equation with bilinear noise term is studied where the driving process is a real-valued fractional Brownian motion. The first generation of E-ELT instruments will include an optical-infrared High Resolution Spectrograph, conventionally indicated as EELT-HIRES, which will be capable of providing unique breakthroughs in the fields of exoplanets, star and planet formation, physics and evolution of stars and galaxies, cosmology and fundamental physics. A 2-year long phase A study for EELT-HIRES has just started and will be performed by a consortium composed of institutes and organisations from Brazil, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. We report a stability below $7\times 10{}^{-17}$ of two independent optical lattice clocks operating with bosonic ${}^{88}$Sr isotope. The value (429228066418008.3(1.9)${}_{syst}$(0.9)${}_{stat}$~Hz) of the absolute frequency of the ${}^{1}S_{0}$ - ${}^{3}P_{0}$ transition was measured with an optical frequency comb referenced to the local representation of the UTC by the 330 km-long stabilized fibre optical link. The result was verified by series of measurements on two independent optical lattice clocks and agrees with recommendation of Bureau International des Poids et Mesures.

We present a system of two independent strontium optical lattice standards probed with a single shared ultra-narrow laser. The absolute frequency of the clocks can be verified by the use of Er:fiber optical frequency comb with the GPS-disciplined Rb frequency standard. Fourier transform spectroscopy based on incoherent light sources is a well-established tool in research fields from molecular spectroscopy and atmospheric monitoring to material science and biophysics. It provides broadband molecular spectra and information about the molecular structure and composition of absorptive media. However, the spectral resolution is fundamentally limited by the maximum delay range ({\Delta}$_{max}$) of the interferometer, so acquisition of high-resolution spectra implies long measurement times and large instrument size. We overcome this limit by combining the Fourier transform spectrometer with an optical frequency comb and measuring the intensities of individual comb lines by precisely matching the {\Delta}$_{max}$ to the comb line spacing. This allows measurements of absorption lines narrower than the nominal (optical path-limited) resolution without ringing effects from the instrumental lineshape and reduces the acquisition time and interferometer length by orders of magnitude.

The kinetic Monte Carlo simulations are employed to study the proton conductivity for anhydrous heterocyclic based polymers. The proton transport is based on a two-step process called the Grotthuss mechanism. The kinetic Monte Carlo method is applied to examine effects of hydrostatic pressure on the benzimidazolium azelate (BenAze) proton conductivity. Following the experimental indications the recently proposed model has been modified to simulate the transport phenomena under moderate pressure, resulting in a very good agreement between numerical and experimental results. We demonstrate that the pressure-induced changes in the proton conductivity can be attributed to solely two parameters: the length of the hydrogen bond and the amplitude of lattice vibrations while other processes play a more minor role. It may provide an insight into tailoring new materials with improved proton-conducting properties. Furthermore, in high-pressure regime we anticipate the crossover from the increasing to decreasing temperature dependence of the proton conductivity resulting from the changes in the hydrogen-bond activation barrier with increased pressure., Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures

Exploiting the mapping between a binary mixture and the Ising model we have analyzed the critical fluctuations by means of the density-matrix renormalization group technique. The calculations have been carried out for a two-dimensional Ising strip subject to equal strong surface fields. It was found that the critical Casimir force displays significantly different behavior on opposite sides of the capillary condensation line, especially below the critical temperature. It can be concluded that in a real binary mixtures the most attractive force appears at temperatures near T_C and at reservoir compositions slightly away from the critical composition., Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures

The kinetic Monte Carlo method is used to model the dynamic properties of proton diffusion in anhydrous proton conductors. The results have been discussed with reference to a two-step process called the Grotthuss mechanism. There is a widespread belief that this mechanism is responsible for fast proton mobility. We report the absolute frequency measurements of rubidium 5S-7S two-photon transitions with a cw laser digitally locked to an atomic transition and referenced to an optical frequency comb. The narrow, two-photon transition, 5S-7S (760 nm) insensitive to first order in a magnetic field, is a promising candidate for frequency reference. We consider the Navier-Stokes system describing the motion of a compressible barotropic fluid driven by stochastic external forces. Our approach is semi-deterministic, based on solving the system for each fixed representative of the random variable and applying an abstract result on measurability of multi-valued maps. The class of admissible driving forces includes the (temporal) white noise and the random kicks, considered recently in the context of incompressible fluid models.

We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for equivalence of law for linear stochastic evolution equations driven by a general Gaussian noise by identifying the suitable space of controls for the corresponding deterministic control problem. This result is applied to semilinear (reaction-diffusion) equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion. We demonstrate the first cavity-enhanced optical frequency comb spectroscopy in the mid-infrared wavelength region and report the sensitive real-time trace detection of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a large amount of water. The experimental apparatus is based on a mid-infrared optical parametric oscillator synchronously pumped by a high power Yb:fiber laser, a high finesse broadband cavity, and a fast-scanning Fourier transform spectrometer with autobalancing detection. The comb spectrum with a bandwidth of 200 nm centered around 3.75 {\mu}m is simultaneously coupled to the cavity and both degrees of freedom of the comb, i.e., the repetition rate and carrier envelope offset frequency, are locked to the cavity to ensure stable transmission. The autobalancing detection scheme reduces the intensity noise by a factor of 300, and a sensitivity of 5.4 {\times} 10^-9 cm^-1 Hz^-1/2 with a resolution of 800 MHz is achieved (corresponding to 6.9 {\times} 10^-11 cm^-1 Hz^-1/2 per spectral element for 6000 resolved elements). This yields a noise equivalent detection limit for hydrogen peroxide of 8 parts-per-billion (ppb); in the presence of 2.8% of water the detection limit is 130 ppb. We achieve a quantum-noise-limited absorption sensitivity of 1.7/times10$^{-12}$ cm$^{-1}$ per spectral element at 400 s of acquisition time with cavity-enhanced frequency comb spectroscopy, the highest demonstrated for a comb-based technique. The system comprises a frequency comb locked to a high-finesse cavity and a fast-scanning Fourier transform spectrometer with an ultra-low-noise autobalancing detector. Spectra with a signal-to-noise ratio above 1000 and a resolution of 380 MHz are acquired within a few seconds. In this article, the sufficient Pontryagin's maximum principle for infinite horizon discounted stochastic control problem is established. The sufficiency is ensured by an additional assumption of concavity of the Hamiltonian function. Throughout the paper, it is assumed that the control domain U is a convex set and the control may enter the diffusion term of the state equation. The general results are applied to the controlled stochastic logistic equation of population dynamics.

Optical frequency-comb-based-high-resolution spectrometers offer enormous potential for spectroscopic applications. Although various implementations have been demonstrated, the lack of suitable mid-infrared comb sources has impeded explorations of molecular fingerprinting. Here we present for the first time a frequency-comb Fourier transform spectrometer operating in the 2100-to-3700-cm-1 spectral region that allows fast and simultaneous acquisitions of broadband absorption spectra with up to 0.0056 cm-1 resolution. We demonstrate part-per-billion detection limits in 30 seconds of integration time for various important molecules including methane, ethane, isoprene, and nitrous oxide. Our system enables precise concentration measurements even in gas mixtures that exhibit continuous absorption bands, and it allows detection of molecules at levels below the noise floor via simultaneous analysis of multiple spectral features. This system represents a near real-time, high-resolution, high-bandwidth mid-infrared spectrometer which is ready to replace traditional Fourier transform spectrometers for many applications in trace gas detection, atmospheric science, and medical diagnostics., Comment: 23 pages (double spaced), 5 figures, 1 table

Long-running measurements of the solar radio flux density at 810 MHz were processed. Based on the least-squares method and using modified periodograms and an iterative technique of fitting and subtracting sinusoids in the time domain, frequency, amplitude, and phase characteristics of any analyzed time series were obtained. Solar cycles 20, 21, and 22 and shorter segments around solar minima and maxima were examined separately. Also, dynamic studies with 405, 810, and 1620 day windows were undertaken. The harmonic representations obtained for all these time series indicate large differences among solar cycles and their segments. We show that the solar radio flux at 810 MHz violates the Gnevyshev-Ohl rule for the pair of cycles 22-23. Analyzing the period 1957-2004, the following spectral periods longer than 1350 days were detected: 10.6, 8.0, 28.0, 5.3, 55.0, 3.9, 6.0, 4.4, and 14.6 yr. For spectral periods between 270 and 1350 days the 11 yr cycle is not recognized. We think that these harmonics form ``impulses of activity'' or a quasi-biennial cycle defined in the Benevolenskaya model of the ``double magnetic cycle.'' The value of about 0.09 is proposed for the interaction parameter (between the low- and high-frequency components) of this model. We confirm the intermittent behavior of the periodicity near 155 days. For an arbitrary Hilbert space-valued Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process we construct the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Bridge connecting a starting point $x$ and an endpoint $y$ that belongs to a certain linear subspace of full measure. We derive also a stochastic evolution equation satisfied by the OU Bridge and study its basic properties. The OU Bridge is then used to investigate the Markov transition semigroup associated to a nonlinear stochastic evolution equation with additive noise. We provide an explicit formula for the transition density and study its regularity. Given the Strong Feller property and the existence of an invariant measure we show that the transition semigroup maps $L^p$ functions into continuous functions. We also show that transition operators are $q$-summing for some $q>p>1$, in particular of Hilbert-Schmidt type.

A formula for the transition density of a Markov process defined by an infinite-dimensional stochastic equation is given in terms of the Ornstein--Uhlenbeck bridge and a useful lower estimate on the density is provided. As a consequence, uniform exponential ergodicity and $V$-ergodicity are proved for a large class of equations. We also provide computable bounds on the convergence rates and the spectral gap for the Markov semigroups defined by the equations. The bounds turn out to be uniform with respect to a large family of nonlinear drift coefficients. Using an expansion in powers of an infinitesimally small coupling constant $g$, all generators of the Poincar\'e group in local scalar quantum field theory with interaction term $g \phi^3$ are expressed in terms of annihilation and creation operators $a_\lambda$ and $a^\dagger_\lambda$ that result from a boost-invariant renormalization group procedure for effective particles. The group parameter $\lambda$ is equal to the momentum-space width of form factors that appear in vertices of the effective-particle Hamiltonians, $H_\lambda$. It is verified for terms order 1, $g$, and $g^2$, that the calculated generators satisfy required commutation relations for arbitrary values of $\lambda$. One-particle eigenstates of $H_\lambda$ are shown to properly transform under all Poincar\'e transformations. The transformations are obtained by exponentiating the calculated algebra. Three types of observations: the daily values of the solar radio flux at 7 frequencies, the daily international sunspot number and the daily Stanford mean solar magnetic field were processed in order to find all the periodicities hidden in the data. Using a new approach to the radio data, two time series were obtained for each frequency examined, one more sensitive to spot magnetic fields, the other to large magnetic structures not connected with sunspots. Power spectrum analysis of the data was carried out separately for the minimum (540 days from 1 March 1996 to 22 August 1997) and for the rising phase (708 days from 23 August 1997 to 31 July 1999) of the solar cycle 23. The Scargle periodograms obtained, normalized for the effect of autocorrelation, show the majority of known periods and reveal a clear difference between the periodicities found in the minimum and the rising phase. We determined the rotation rate of the `active longitudes' in the rising phase as equal to 444.4 $\pm$ 4 nHz ($26\fd0 \pm 0\fd3$). The results indicate that appropriate and careful analysis of daily radio data at several frequencies allows the investigation of solar periodicities generated in different layers of the solar atmosphere by various phenomena related to the periodic emergence of diverse magnetic structures., Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures
