The superconducting energy gap of $\rm Ba_{1-x}K_xBiO_3$ has been measured by tunneling. Despite the fact that the sample was macroscopically single phase with very sharp superconducting transition $T_c$ at 32~$K$, some of the measured tunnel junctions made by point contacts between silver tip and single crystal of $\rm Ba_{1-x}K_xBiO_3$ had lower transition at 20~$K$. Local variation of the potassium concentration as well as oxygen deficiency in $\rm Ba_{1-x}K_xBiO_3$ at the place where the point contact is made can account for the change of $T_c$. The conductance curves of the tunnel junctions reveal the BCS behavior with a small broadening of the superconducting-gap structure. A value of the energy gap scales with $T_c$. The reduced gap amounts to $2\Delta/kT_c = 4\div 4.3$ indicating a medium coupling strength. Temperature dependence of the energy gap follows the BCS prediction., Comment: 2 pages, 3 figures

Fully differential cross sections are calculated for the ionization of H$_2$ by fast charged projectiles using a semiclassical model developed previously for the ionization of atoms. The method is tested in case of 4 keV electron and 6 MeV proton projectiles. The obtained results show good agreement with the available experimental data. In this work our previous fully differential ionization cross section calculations using the semiclassical, impact parameter method are improved by a new method suitable to calculate impact parameter values corresponding to different momentum transfers. This goal is achieved by two successive steps. First, using the transverse momentum balance different projectile scattering angles are calculated for the binary and recoil peak regions as a function of the transferred momentum. Then, by treating the projectile scattering as a classical potential scattering problem, impact parameters are assigned to these scattering angles. The new method, which no longer contains empirical considerations, is tested calculating by fully differential ionization cross sections for single ionization of helium produced by fast C$^{6+}$ ions., Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures

Self-assembled patterns obtained from a drying nanosphere suspension are investigated by computer simulations and simple experiments. Motivated by the earlier experimental results of Sasaki and Hane and Schope, we confirm that more ordered triangular lattice structures can be obtained whenever a moderate intensity random shaking is applied on the drying system. Computer simulations are realized on an improved version of a recently elaborated Burridge-Knopoff-type model. Based on the semiclassical, impact parameter method a theoretical model is constructed to calculate totally differential cross sections for single ionization of helium by impact with fast C$^{6+}$ ions. Good agreement with the experiment is achieved in the scattering plane, while in the perpendicular plane a similar structure to that observed experimentally is obtained. Patterns generated by a colloidal suspension of nanospheres drying on a frictional substrate are studied by experiments and computer simulations. The obtained two-dimensional self-assembled structures are commonly used for nanosphere lithography. A spring-block stick-slip model is introduced for simulating the phenomenon and the influence of several controllable parameters on the final structure is investigated. Poisson Voronoi diagrams are useful for modeling and describing various natural patterns and for generating random lattices. Although this particular space tessellation is intensively studied by mathematicians, in two- and three dimensional spaces there is no exact result known for the size-distribution of Voronoi cells. Motivated by the simple form of the distribution function in the one-dimensional case, a simple and compact analytical formula is proposed for approximating the Voronoi cell's size distribution function in the practically important two- and three dimensional cases as well. Denoting the dimensionality of the space by d (d=1,2,3) the $f(y)=Const*y^{(3d-1)/2}exp(-(3d+1)y/2)$ compact form is suggested for the normalized cell-size distribution function.
