Glycyl-l-histidyl-l-lysine (GHK) tripeptides are known for their remarkable therapeutic potential, including wound-healing, anti-inflammatory activity, and cellular regeneration. However, their clinical application has been significantly hindered by poor biological stability and limited efficacy in a physiological medium. In this study, we introduce a sophisticated approach to overcome these limitations by developing supramolecular peptide nanofiber-gold (Au) nanoparticle (NP) hybrids functionalized with GHK tripeptides. By strategically manipulating peptide self-assembly and NP integration, we demonstrated a useful platform that enhances both therapeutic efficacy and material stability. Our methodology involves the precise engineering of 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-diphenylalanine scaffolds with GHK and KHG tripeptides, enabling robust nanofibril formation through π–π stacking and hydrogen bonding. Critically, we discovered that the specific amino acid sequence significantly influences the surface exposure of lysine, directly impacting the nanohybrid’s wound-healing capabilities. The resultant nanohybrids exhibit exceptional characteristics: Au NPs are spatially confined within the peptide nanofibers, achieving a remarkably uniform size distribution of approximately 3 nm. These nanohybrids demonstrate superior near-infrared (NIR) light absorption and photothermal conversion efficiency, enabling effective eradication of cancer cells and organoids killing under NIR irradiation. This dual-functional nanohybrid integrates biocompatible and enzymatically degradable peptide scaffolds to achieve synergistic wound-healing and cancer-killing effects. By mitigating the cytotoxicity and biodegradability issues associated with conventional photothermal agents, our system provides a promising strategy to improve postoperative cancer therapy and promote tissue regeneration. This work highlights the potential of peptide-inorganic nanohybrids in advancing multifunctional therapeutic platforms for cancer treatment and tissue repair.

We demonstrated catechol lipid-based bioresin, which is collected from lacquer trees, to produce conductive pastes that can be processed at low temperatures, which are highly adhesive and multidurable. Our conductive paste, which consists of catechol lipid-based urushiol resin and a multimodal mixture of silver fillers, exhibited stable dispersion with shear thinning properties. The urushiol lacquer induced spontaneous reduction of silver salt at the surface of the silver fillers, thereby contributing to lower the contact resistance between conductive fillers in the electrical conduction. Furthermore, the directional volume shrinkage of the urushiol lacquer matrix in a cross-linking reaction resulted in a highly ordered microstructure of the silver fillers with layer-by-layer stacking of the silver flakes. This structure contributed to the improvement of the electrical contact between fillers as well as excellent mechanical hardness, anti-scratch capability, and the long-term environmental stability of the conductive films. Conductive films based on the silver paste with urushiol lacquer exhibited low electrical resistivity below 4.4 × 10–5Ω cm, 5B-class strong adhesion strength, and high hardness exceeding 200 MPa. Finally, we demonstrated the facile room-temperature processability and screen printability of the UL–Ag paste by fabricating a printed antenna and three-dimensional (3D) electrode assembly based on a plastic 3D block.

Although various methods have been developed to disperse transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) in aqueous environments, the methodology to generate stable TMDC dispersions remains challenging. Here, we developed a hierarchical van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure-based strategy to disperse few-layered TMDCs (WS2, MoS2, WSe2, and MoSe2) using both hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and sodium cholate (SC) as synergistic vdW surfactants. By showing long-term stability of up to 3 years, the extinction spectra of these TMDC/hBN/SC dispersions exhibit the most blue-shifted excitonic transitions, low background extinction, good colloidal stability, and dispersion stability upon ultracentrifugation compared to other dispersion methods. Hierarchical stacking having TMDCs and hBN/SC as core and shell parts is probed by electrostatic/atomic force microscopy and zeta potential, and its origin was attributed to surface energy matches. Along with the synergetic effect between TMDCs and hBN, the blue shift was ascribed to compressive strain on the TMDCs caused by hBN wrapping. The results of transmission electron microscopy show that the TMDCs in the dispersions have defective, few-layered structures with flake sizes that are less than a few hundred nm2. Raman spectroscopy is used to study not only the existence of compressive strain but also various interlayer coupling between TMDC and hBN. The hierarchical structures of TMDC/hBN/SC are discussed in terms of surface energies and topographies. This method is invaluable to provide a general methodology to disperse various surface-corrugated dimensional materials for various dispersion-based applications.
