Metal halide perovskite CsPbI3quantum dots (QDs) have sparked widespread research due to their intriguing optoelectronic. However, the CsPbI3QDs undergo inevitable aging and luminescence quenching caused by the weak binding ability of oleate (OA–)/oleylammonium (OAm+), hindering further practical application. Herein, we have realized ultrafast rejuvenation of the aged CsPbI3QDs that have lost their photoluminescence performance based on a 1-dodecanethiol (DDT) surface ligand to restore the outstanding red light emission with a high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) from 25 to 90%. Furthermore, CsPbI3QDs with DDT surface treatment maintain a cubic phase and high PLQY value even after 35 days. The DDT ligands can form a strong bond with Pb2+and passivate I–ion vacancies, enhancing radiative recombination efficiency and thereby improving the PLQY of the QDs. The stable yet easily accessible surface of the DDT-capped CsPbI3QDs was successfully employed as white LEDs and exhibited considerable enhanced luminous performance, suggesting promising application in solid-state lighting fields.

Corrosion protection technology plays a crucial role in preserving infrastructure, ensuring safety and reliability, and promoting long-term sustainability. In this study, we combined experiments and various analyses to investigate the mechanism of corrosion occurring on the epoxy-based anticorrosive coating containing the additive of two-dimensional (2D) and water-stable zirconium-based metal–organic frameworks (Zr-MOFs). By using benzoic acid as the modulator for the growth of the MOF, a 2D MOF constructed from hexazirconium clusters and BTB linkers (BTB = 1,3,5-tri(4-carboxyphenyl)benzene) with coordinated benzoate (BA-ZrBTB) can be synthesized. By coating the BA-ZrBTB/epoxy composite film (BA-ZrBTB/EP) on the surface of cold-rolled steel (CRS), we found the lowest coating roughness (RMS) of BA-ZrBTB/EP is 2.83 nm with the highest water contact angle as 99.8°, which represents the hydrophobic coating surface. Notably, the corrosion rate of the BA-ZrBTB/EP coating is 2.28 × 10–3mpy, which is 4 orders of magnitude lower than that of the CRS substrate. Moreover, the energy barrier for oxygen diffusion through BA-ZrBTB/EP coating is larger than that for epoxy coating (EP), indicating improved oxygen resistance for adding 2D Zr-MOFs as the additive. These results underscore the high efficiency and potential of BA-ZrBTB as a highly promising agent for corrosion prevention in various commercial applications. Furthermore, this study represents the first instance of applying 2D Zr-MOF materials in anticorrosion applications, opening up new possibilities for advanced corrosion-resistant coatings.

In this work, graphene oxide (GO)/polymer hybrid microcapsule-loaded self-healing agents were prepared via the combination of the emulsion template method and photopolymerization technology. The incorporation of GO in the microcapsule shell not only improved the impermeability, mechanical property, and solvent resistance property of the microcapsules significantly but also endowed the microcapsules with photothermal conversion property. By incorporating GO/polymer hybrid microcapsules in water-borne epoxy resin, a novel kind of anticorrosion coating with a double self-healing property was successfully fabricated. When the coating was scratched, the linseed oil (LO) encapsulated in the microcapsules could fill the crack, and the photothermal conversion property of GO could promote the molecular chain movement of the damaged area under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation to realize the close of the crack. Based on the filling of LO and photothermal conversion-induced scratch narrowing, the “filling” and “close” double self-healing effect can be realized under temporal NIR irradiation, which could lead to the complete recovery of the scratched coating. The |Z|f=0.1Hzvalue of the damaged coating with GO/polymer microcapsules after double healing was comparable to that of the intact coating, which was about 4 orders of magnitude higher than that of the scratched blank coating and single self-healing coating. As to the neutral salt spray test, the scratched blank coating failed in protection after 100 h, while the healed composite coating did not show any corrosion after 300 h.

Tissue engineering is theoretically considered a promising approach for repairing osteochondral defects. Nevertheless, the insufficient osseous support and integration of the cartilage layer and the subchondral bone frequently lead to the failure of osteochondral repair. Drawing from this, it was proposed that incorporating glycine-modified attapulgite (GATP) into poly(1,8-octanediol-co-citrate) (POC) scaffolds via the one-step chemical cross-linking is proposed to enhance cartilage and subchondral bone defect repair simultaneously. The effects of the GATP incorporation ratio on the physicochemical properties, chondrocyte and MC3T3-E1 behavior, and osteochondral defect repair of the POC scaffold were also evaluated. In vitro studies indicated that the POC/10% GATP scaffold improved cell proliferation and adhesion, maintained cell phenotype, and upregulated chondrogenesis and osteogenesis gene expression. Animal studies suggested that the POC/10% GATP scaffold has significant repair effects on both cartilage and subchondral bone defects. Therefore, the GATP-incorporated scaffold system with dual-lineage bioactivity showed potential application in osteochondral regeneration.

Aqueous zinc (Zn) ion batteries have received broad attention recently. However, their practical application is limited by severe Zn dendrite growth and the hydrogen evolution reaction. In this study, three alkali metal ions (Li+, Na+, and K+) are added in ZnSO4electrolytes, which are subjected to electrochemical measurements and molecular dynamics simulations. The studies show that since K+has the highest mobility and self-diffusion coefficient among the four ions (Li+, Na+, K+, and Zn2+), it enables K+to preferentially approach a zinc dendrite at an earlier time, driven by a negative electric field during a cathodic process. The electric double layer, with K+around the negatively charged Zn dendrite, inhibits dendrite growth and mitigates the hydrogen evolution reaction on the Zn anode. Under this kinetic effect, the Zn–Zn symmetric cell with K+exhibits a long cycling stability of 1000 h at 1 mA·cm–2of 1 mAh·cm–2and 190 h at 30 mA·cm–2of 2 mAh·cm–2. Such a kinetic effect is also observed with additives Na+and Li+, though less profound than that of K+.

Broadband photodetectors have attracted much attention due to their multispectral response properties and show great potential in the fields of optical sensing, multispectral imaging, and optical communications. Palladium telluride (PdTe2) is highly competitive in broadband detection due to its tunable bandgap and nonlinear optical properties. However, the low response speed hinders further improvement in the performance of PdTe2-based broadband photodetectors. In this work, we present island-type ZnO@PdTe2composites on Si as a heterojunction photodetector exhibiting highly sensitive photodetection capabilities in a wide band from the solar-blind region (254 nm) to the short-infrared (1.55 μm). Due to the island-type morphology of the ZnO@PdTe2composites effectively enhancing light absorption and the ZnO@PdTe2/Si stacks forming a type-II heterojunction accelerating carrier separation, the devices have an ultrafast response (1.58/1.34 μs), a detectivity of up to 1.56 × 1013Jones, and a sensitivity of up to 107cm2/W. A triple-channel color imaging system and a dual-channel data transmission system were developed based on the excellent and stable performance of the device. This study demonstrates the great potential of ZnO@PdTe2/Si vertical heterojunction photodetectors for high-speed, wide-band, multiscenario optical communication.
