SummaryTwo cases of acute poisoning with large amounts of thallium acetate (0.75 and 1.5 g) are reported. The clinical observation and the urinary elimination of the thallium are described from the very first hours after ingestion of the poison until the complete disappearance of any manifestation. The same treatment was applied to the two patients : gastric lavage with sodium iodide and magnesium sulfate solutions, administration of methionine and cysteine per os, iodide and B1 - B12 vitamins. The late administration of BAL (from the 20th to the 31st day) did not change the urinary excretion of the thallium.
