The title compound, C15H19NO3, a Schiff base, crystallizes as a zwitterion with the hydroxyl H atom transfered to the imine N atom. This leads to the formation of an intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules are linked by an intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond, forming chains extended in the a-axis direction. The molecules are also connected via C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
