Photothermal therapy (PTT) has a great prospect in further improving tumor therapeutic outcomes, whereas its efficiency is restrained by low light penetration, excessive heat damage to normal tissues, up‐regulated heat shock proteins (HSPs), and limited effect of single treatment. Herein, an enzyme‐engineered coppery nanozyme based on dendritic mesoporous coppery carbon nanosphere as the cornerstone to load with glucose oxidase (GOx) followed by modification with hyaluronic acid is constructed. Density functional theory calculations indicate that the obtained coppery nanozyme exhibits peroxidase and glutathione oxidase mimicking activities to improve hydroxyl radicals (•OH) production. Furthermore, both the generation of •OH production and GOx‐induced energy supply blockade can reduce HSPs expression to enhance the mild PTT (η = 34.9 %) of coppery nanozyme upon the irradiation of 1064 nm laser, and in turn, accelerate the catalytic processes of coppery nanozyme for more generation of •OH. Last but not least, the introduction of copper can induce lipoylated protein dihydrolipoamide S‐acetyltransferase aggregation to cause cellular cuproptosis. Due to the synergy of multiple therapies, the tumor inhibition rate can reach 93.4%. BiVO4 is one of the most promising candidates for photoelectrochemical water oxidation. However, the poor crystallinity and short hole diffusion length limit its charge separation. One bottleneck stems from the contradiction between high crystallinity and small particles via conventional furnace heating processes. This paper describes the design and fabrication of BiVO4 photoanodes via rapid thermal process (RTP), rather than furnace heating, to decouple the constraints between nucleation, crystallization, and growth processes of BiVO4. The higher heating ramp rate of RTP compared with furnace heating promotes the fast diffusion of reactant molecules, which elevates the nucleation rate above the particle growth rate of BiVO4, leading to small particles with high crystallinity. Moreover, the ultra‐high heating temperature makes it possible to crystallize the small BiVO4 particle within a short time. Thus, a high crystallinity can be obtained for the RTP‐treated BiVO4 while maintaining small particle size, achieving a charge separation efficiency of up to 82%, 30% higher than that of furnace‐treated BiVO4 photoanode. Introduction of fluorescent down‐conversion layer inside perovskite solar cells (PSCs) can highly improve the ultraviolet response of the devices and the light stability. However, such a device is usually confronted with the problem of inter‐diffusion with the perovskite absorber layer, which severely limits its further development. To address this problem, herein, this work employs an interfacial dual electron transport layers (ETLs) strategy, sandwiching Cd‐CsPbCl3:Mn2+ luminescent quantum dots within gap of the ETLs, which not only reduces the interface energy level offset, but also improves the nucleation and crystallization kinetics of perovskite films and prevents their diffusion to the perovskite absorber layer. As a result, the efficient synergy effect effectively elevates both the open‐circuit voltage and fill factor of the PSCs, reaching maximum values of 1.181 V and 81.14%, respectively, finally delivering progressively increased device power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.32% with significantly improved light stability. To further improve the ultraviolet response, this work further adopts the strategy of dual fluorescent conversion layers inside and outside the PSCs, and finally obtains PCE of 24.63%, which is the best for various luminescent conversion cells. Afterglow materials have attracted much attention owing to their long luminescence lifetimes, large Stokes shifts, and emission without real‐time excitation. Compared with traditional organic afterglow materials, carbon dots (CDs), as a new afterglow material, have superior properties such as easy preparation, low toxicity, and low cost. The emission color of afterglow CDs can be regulated by external factors such as excitation wavelength, temperature, and time, which is highly significant for expanding the diversified applications to make them available for biotechnology and information applications. This review summarizes the research progress of multicolor afterglow CDs in recent years, including luminescence regulation strategies, preparation methods, and applications. First, the multicolor afterglow CDs are classified into three strategies: multicolor room temperature phosphorescence (RTP), thermally activated delayed fluorescence converted to RTP, and delayed fluorescence based on Förster resonance energy transfer, and the strategies for regulating their luminescence properties are analyzed. Second, the preparation methods of achieving multicolor afterglow CDs are summarized in both matrix‐free and matrix‐confined aspects. Then, applications in anticounterfeiting and information encryption, sensing and bioimaging are introduced in detail. Finally, the future challenges and opportunities of multicolor afterglow CDs are prospected to provide ideas for their controlled design and wide application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Oral probiotics meet challenges during processing, storage, and gastrointestinal harsh conditions. Polysaccharide‐based hydrogels delivery system is promising in probiotic protection, but its semi‐solid and weak strength, and often requires additional cross‐links to solidify its structure. Herein a ferric ion co‐crosslinked microgel of Mesona chinensis polysaccharides and mechanically strengthened by phenolic‐metal frameworks of naturally bound brown bioactives is designed. These microgels has an intact structure in acidic condition and ruptured only at pH neutral conditions which can responsively release highly viable probiotics with high mucoadhesion and colonization. Brown bioactives are naturally bound to polysaccharides (MCPC) by hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonding, and they exhibited outstanding anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Moreover, these brown bioactives are the precise prebiotics which can specifically improve the abundance of Akkermansia genus in gut in vivo. Then, the probiotics Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK) are loaded into brown bioactives frameworks strengthened microgels. There is a more synergistic healthy benefit between MCPC components and loaded AKK compared with free and pasteurized AKK. MCPC microgels can deliver high viable AKK specifically to gut consequently modulating the microbiota balance, and protecting the intestinal barriers. MCPC microgels also delivered the antioxidant brown bioactives specifically into liver to alleviate the hepatic oxidative stress and inflammation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

3D printing of articular cartilage tissue faces challenges like replicating its complex structure, time‐consuming in vitro stem cell culture, and a lack of robust in situ regeneration methods for osteochondral defects (OC). In response, an innovative approach utilizing pre‐designed bioink modular units for one‐step printing and immediate implantation is proposed, circumventing the need for prior in vitro stem cell cultivation. The resulting printed scaffold not only accurately reproduces the three‐layer structure and material gradient of articular cartilage tissue but also attains impressive compressive strength (6.3 MPa) through the reinforcement of hydroxyapatite nanofibers and the establishment of chemical bonds with hydrogels. Moreover, the scaffold integrates stem cell capturing and homing layers on its bottom and top layers via chemical crosslinking aptamer and loading poly (lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanospheres encapsulated with stromal cell‐derived factor‐1α (SDF‐1α), respectively. This design enables the specific capture of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in vivo through aptamer interaction, followed by their mobilization to home in on the hyaline cartilage layer via the chemotaxis of SDF‐1α concentration gradient. Within the scaffold's microenvironment, these BMSCs undergo differentiation into distinct cells for each layer, effectively contributing to the repair of OC defects in rabbits. Polarization‐sensitive infrared photodetectors have vast application prospects in imaging systems and polarization sensors due to the addition of new detection dimensions beyond wavelength and intensity. However, most polarization‐sensitive photodetectors are operated in the visible wavelength range and still encounter challenges of limited responsivity (R) and polarization ratio (PR) under short‐wave infrared illumination. To address these issues, a vertical heterostructure of β‐In2Se3‐on‐Te is reported, achieving high‐performance and polarization‐sensitive imaging sensors in the short‐wave infrared (SWIR) region. The high R (2 A/W at 1310 nm and 0.71 A/W at 1550 nm) and specific detectivity (2.14 × 109 Jones at 1310 nm and 7.3 × 108 at 1550 nm) are obtained, which surpasses most photodetectors using anisotropic 2D material in the infrared range. Considering the strong anisotropic nature of Te nanosheets, the device exhibits notable polarization sensitivity with a PR value of 4.95 under 1310 nm laser irradiation. This work proposes a multifunctional photodetector for the great applications of ASCII code transmission and polarization‐sensitive infrared imaging, offering a new opportunity for versatile angle‐resolved optoelectronics in the infrared communication band. Manipulating and optimizing the room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) behavior of organic luminophores is highly desirable for exploring their extensive potential applications. However, achieving tailored and precise control over RTP emission colors remains a challenging task. Herein, three regioisomers, namely o‐Br, m‐Br, and p‐Br, are developed by directly bonding the nitrogen atom of commercial carbazole and the sulfur atom of the sulfonylbenzene group. This design not only features the bromine substitution at different positions but also leads to the formation of N─S═O resonance linkages. With the variation in position of bromine from ortho to para, the RTP color changes from yellow to red. Experimental investigations and theoretical calculations demonstrate that this color variation arises from the modulation of contributions from different canonical forms of N─S═O, which can be attributed to the regioisomerization of bromine atoms for fine‐tuning intra‐ and intermolecular interactions. Additionally, the in vitro cell imaging is successfully realized by employing red RTP nanoparticles prepared from the p‐Br luminophore. There is tremendous interest in the development of highly wear‐resistant coatings for metallic materials to reduce energy loss and prolong service life. In this study, the authors propose an approach to develop nanocomposite coatings featuring deformable nanocrystals embedded in amorphous matrix for self‐lubrication and superior wear resistance. The dual‐layered nanocomposite coatings are prepared by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) on a Ti‐Nb‐Ta‐Zr‐Hf (TNZTH) refractory multi‐principal element alloy (RMPEA) and commercially pure Ti (cpTi). The inner layers of PEO coatings are composed of substrate element oxides (amorphous TNZTH─O oxide or anatase TiO2), while their outer layers exhibit typical nanocomposite structures. Different from the cpTi‐based PEO coating outer layers composed of brittle rutile TiO2 nanoparticles dispersed in an amorphous matrix of SiO2 and Na2O·nSiO2, the outer layers of TNZTH‐based PEO coatings are featured by deformable Na2Zr(Hf)O3 nanocrystals heterogeneously embedded in an inhomogeneous amorphous matrix composed of TNZTH─O oxide, SiO2, and Na2O·nSiO2. As a result, the TNZTH‐based PEO coatings exhibit favorable self‐lubricating performance and superior wear resistance, while the cpTi‐based PEO coatings are completely destroyed after sliding wear. Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) provides a renewable approach to transform CO2 to produce chemicals and fuels. Unfortunately, it faces the challenges of sluggish CO2 activation and slow water dissociation. This study reports the modification of Bi‐based electrocatalyst by S, which leads to a remarkable enhancement in activity and selectivity during electrochemical CO2 reduction to formate. Based on comprehensive in situ examinations and kinetic evaluations, it is observed that the presence of S species over Bi catalyst can significantly enhance its interaction with K+(H2O)n, facilitating fast dissociation of water molecules to generate protons. Further in situ attenuated total reflectance surface‐enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR‐SEIRAS) and in situ Raman spectroscopy measurements reveal that S modification is able to decrease the oxidation state of Bi active site, which can effectively enhance CO2 activation and facilitate HCOO* intermediate formation while suppressing competing hydrogen evolution reaction. Consequently, the S‐modified Bi catalyst achieves impressive electrochemical CO2RR performance, reaching a formate Faradaic efficiency (FEformate) of 91.2% at a formate partial current density of ≈135 mA cm−2 and a potential of −0.8 V versus RHE in an alkaline electrolyte. The pulmonary vascular system plays a crucial role in maintaining normal physiological functions, and perturbations in this network often serve as indicators for various fatal diseases. Thus, accurate mapping and assessment of the intricate anatomical details of pulmonary vasculature is essential for the investigation of the underlying mechanism of these diseases. Yet it is considered a tough challenge as traditional imaging techniques offer limited representations of the vasculature network in the lung, while optical imaging methods face limitations from tissue depth. To overcome these obstacles, in this study, an AIENP‐reinforced DISCO method, for whole‐tissue 3D reconstruction of pulmonary capillaries is presented. Combining AIENPs, hydrogel‐enhanced scaffolds, and solvent‐based DISCO procedures, the method successfully visualizes the entire network of mouse pulmonary capillaries with a significantly shortened timeframe and cost. The whole process including labeling and clearing takes 6 days and it costs ≈ 5 USD to stain the lung vasculature of an adult mouse. Moreover, the study provides valuable insights for detecting pulmonary vascular abnormalities. This fast and cost‐effective technique opens new avenues for developing better fluorophores compatible with tissue optical clearing and offers insights for in‐depth research on pulmonary pathophysiology. Photosensitizers (PSs) with effective reactive oxygen species generation ability against hypoxia are of great potential for clinical treatment of malignant tumors. However, complex tumor microenvironment, such as antioxidative responses and immunosuppression, would ineluctably limit the efficiency of photodynamic therapy (PDT). Herein, a molecular‐targeting photosensitizer QTANHOH is rationally designed for histone deacetylases (HDACs‐targeting photo‐immunotherapy application. The PS QTANHOH displays excellent type‐I/II PDT performance, exhibiting significant phototoxicity toward cancer cells with half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) less than 10 nm in both normoxia and hypoxia conditions under blue laser irradiation. Moreover, the bioactive compound could inhibit HDACs and activate the immune microenvironment to boost PDT efficacy on the immunocompetent BALB/c mice with breast cancer, leading to the eradication of solid tumor and inhibition of metastasis. Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) is endowed with a highly aggressive nature that results in distant metastases and high recurrence rates, yet limited success is realized in traditional chemotherapy. Activatable photosensitizers (PSs) may provide an effective and non‐invasive strategy to induce TNBC cell death in a precise way by offering stimuli‐responsive reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, the toxicity of ROS is often mitigated and even devitalized by the instinctive behavior of ROS resistance in TNBC cells. To address this issue, herein a small molecular self‐assembly nano‐prodrug is presented to co‐deliver an activatable PS and ROS resistance inhibitor. In TNBC cells, the overexpressed glutathione can disassemble the nano‐prodrug, thereby releasing ROS resistance inhibitor and activating the PS for photodynamic therapy and fluorescence imaging. A hybrid membrane coating‐assisted nanoparticle formation strategy is further demonstrated for efficient inhibition of tumor growth and distant metastases on both subcutaneous and orthotopic TNBC mice models.
