A direct transfer patterning process is presented that allows metallic patterns to be stamped onto a contoured substrate. This process was used to make some of the most efficient electrically small antennas to date, while maintaining bandwidths approaching the physical limit.

In recent years, there has been tremendous progress in the research and development of printable electronics on mechanically flexible substrates based on inorganic active components, which provide high performances and stable device operations at low cost. In this regard, various approaches have been developed for the direct transfer or printing of micro- and nanoscale, inorganic semiconductors on substrates. In this review article, we focus on the recent advancements in the large-scale integration of single crystalline, inorganic-nanowire (NW) arrays for electronic and sensor applications, specifically involving the contact printing of NWs at defined locations. We discuss the advantages, limitations, and the state-of-the-art of this technol- ogy, and present an integration platform for future printable, heteroge- neous-sensor circuitry based on NW parallel arrays.

Stretchable electronics1, 2 is one of the most vital technological research fields of the latest years, aiming to revolutionize custom electronic systems toward being arbitrarily reshapeable on demand after their fabrication. This opens up novel application potentials for multifunctional high‐speed electronic systems like smart skins,3, 4 active medical implants,5, 6 soft robotics,7, 8 or stretchable consumer electronics.9, 10 A variety of functional components that can be subjected to high tensile deformations have already been introduced, including light emitting diodes,11 solar cells,10 pressure and temperature sensors,12 integrated circuitry,13 batteries,14, 15 antennas,16 and many more. Introducing stretchable highly sensitive magnetosensorics into the family of stretchable electronics17 was envisioned to equip this novel electronic platform with magnetic functionalities. This can be of particular interest for smart skin and biomedical applications promoted by very recent developments of imperceptible12 and transient6 electronics, as magnetoelectronic components can add a sense of orientation, displacement, and touchless interaction.

An ultraclean method to directly transfer a large-area MoS2 film from the original growth substrate to a flexible substrate by using epoxy glue is developed. The transferred film is observed to be free of wrinkles and cracks and to be as smooth as the film synthesized on the original substrate.
