The PCE has a great relationship with the work function of conductors in organic and printed electronics devices. And organic photovoltaics require an electrode with a work function (WF) that is low enough to either facilitate the transport of electrons in and out of various optoelectronic devices or collect electrons from the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of a given organic semiconductor. In inverted organic photovoltaics, the ITO is normally used as cathode to collect electrons .By using PDDA deposition, the surface work function of ITO can be decreased by 0.3 eV, which is able to improve the electrons transport and the PCE in OPV, as it has been proved that the surface electronic potential of ITO is very sensitive to the presence of self-assembled molecular layers.

A laboratory model test of tunnel anchor was conducted to investigate its pullout mechanism and bearing capacity. Surface and rock deformation, strain and stress were measured during the entire model test process. The results show that: under pull out load, tensile failure first occurs in top surface rock near the anchor, then shear failure occurs in anchor-rock interface and rock around the anchor. The failure surface is inverted cone from the anchor bottom. Under 50 times design cable force tunnel rock is in elastic stage, suggesting that current tunnel anchor design is quite conservative and can be further optimized.

The evolutionary structural optimization (ESO) is used to optimize constrained damping layer structure. Considering the vibration and energy dissipation mode of the plate with constrained layer damping treatment, the elements of constrained damping layers and modal loss factor are considered as design variable and objective function, while damping material consumption is considered as a constraint. The sensitivity of modal loss factor to design variable is further derived using modal strain energy analysis method. Numerical example is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed topology optimization approach. The results show that vibration energy dissipation of the plates can be enhanced by the optimal constrained layer damping layout.

Shear thickening polishing (STP) method was newly developed to achieve high efficient and high quality finishing of complex curved surface. The shear thickening fluid based slurry is one of the key factors in STP process. Viscosity of different shear thickening polishing slurry (STPS) was tested by rheometer in this study. The influences of dispersed particle size and concentration, abrasive material, abrasive particle size and concentration on the rheological property of STPS were analyzed. The results show that smaller dispersed particle (5.5 or 13μm in this study) and relative higher concentration (50-55 wt.%) are better for shear thickening effect of the base fluid. The viscosity of base fluid increases from 0.15-0.3 Pa·s to 0.8-1.1 Pa·s under high shear rate. The participation of Al2O3 and diamond abrasive changes the rheological property little, and the viscosity of STPS reaches the highest value 1.8 Pa·s at shear rate 300 s-1. But SiC abrasive obviously destroys the shear thickening effect. SPTS with different Al2O3 abrasive concentration in this study presents almost same viscosity curve. It is inferred that the number of the abrasive particle but not the weight ratio plays the role to effect the rheological property of STPS.

From the perspective of improving single well production and wellbore stability, stress field and natural fractures are the factors which have to be taken into account in the development of horizontal wells of the complex carbonate oil and gas fields in Kuqa piedmont and platform-basin transitional area. On the one hand, as the present stress field is the key factor to control fracture permeability, the trajectory of horizontal wells should pass through fracture system with good permeability as much as possible, being conducive to the effective stimulation of the reservoir. On the other hand, at the state of specific stress, the stability of well trajectory varies with directions. Therefore, before drilling horizontal wells, it is necessary to fully analyze the quantitative relationship between the present stress state and natural fracture occurrence and mechanical characteristics, etc., to optimize and determine a well trajectory conducive to high yield and wellbore stability. In this study, firstly, the fundamental principles for evaluating the present stress state and analyzing the relationship between the stress and fractures were described. Then based on the relationship between them, the occurrence and longitudinal positions of permeability fractures were analyzed. Apart from that, the stability index and fracture opening pressure distribution of wells in different directions at given stress state and fracture system were also analyzed. Finally, the optimization scheme for trajectory of horizontal wells under complex conditions was discussed with three aspects taken into account, i.e. best drilling in permeability fractures, wellbore stability and drilled reservoir stimulation.

As most of sedimentary rocks are anisotropic, it is significant to research the impact of the anisotropy of strength on wellbore stability in drilling engineering. Particularly, in the Kuqa piedmont exploration area, the anisotropy of strength caused by various jointed surfaces, fracture surfaces and fault planes in formation cause the formation of several groups of weak low-intensity planes traversing borehole . These weak planes will become failure earlier than the rock body in the context of strong stress and high pore pressure, causing chipping, breakouts and sticking. If fractures have good permeability and drilling fluid column pressure is greater than pore pressure, loss may occur. The loss pressure would not be controlled by fracturing pressure and horizontal minimum principal stress, but it depends on the relationship between fracture occurrence and triaxial stress state. In the event of loss, the drilling fluid will flow into these weak structural planes, causing the decrease of friction between rocks and increase of wellbore instability. As a result, for strongly anisotropic formation, the collapse pressure and leakage pressure of weak planes are key factors for evaluating well drilling stability. In this study, according to the stability evaluation on the transversely isotropic rock mechanics in Keshen zone of Kuqa piedmont, the impacts of fracture development on wellbore instability is analyzed; relevant suggestions on engineering geology for the special pressure window in strong anisotropic formation are also put forward.

Microstructure of ore particle has significant influence on the efficiency of bio-heap leaching, because it affects such processes as microscale fluid flow, mass diffusivity, bacteria growth, chemical reaction, etc. The micropores and microcracks in ore particles evolve continuously during bioleaching. To obtain crucial quantitative information on structural evolutions, non-destructive techniques become necessary. In this study, a cylindrical ore sample of 3mm diameter was scanned with X-ray micro-CT before and after bioleaching test. The ore sample is a kind of mixed ore that composed of oxide copper and sulfide copper. The CT scanner used is μCT225kvFCB. By using an in-house developed image analysis program based on MATLAB, 3D information about the total porosity, the pore size distribution, the pore connectivity, and the pore fractal dimension of the ore sample before and after bioleaching were calculated and analyzed. The results obtained in this study are promising for a better understanding of microstructure evolution mechanisms on ore particles during bioleaching. Results also show that 3-D image analysis is a powerful technique to characterize the morphological, structural and topological differences due to bioleaching.

Microalgae have rich oil production under full photosynthesis, which reaches over 50 mass%. In addition, microalgae oil contains the prolific cis-4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) that is usually refined for making health food or food additives. This study investigated Aurantiochytrium sp., which is a kind of microalgae, the oil of which is also refined for use in health food or food additives. The solid byproducts of Aurantiochytrium sp. oil are more than 20 mass%, discarded as rubbish. Fortunately, the solid byproducts have been found to contain a large amount of palmitic acid that exceeds more than 67 mass%, but it is difficult to transesterify from the solid byproducts of Aurantiochytrium sp. oil, such as the waste cooking oil or waste engine oil, which contain many impurities. Therefore, the sequences of saponification, reduction reaction, and acid-catalyzed reactions were conducted for the full process of transesterification in this study. Overall, we have successfully obtained more than 92 mass% transesterification rate from the solid byproducts of Aurantiochytrium sp. oil. The solid byproducts are waste turned into gold.

PC film has some shortcomings such as low surface energy and strong rigidity. In order to improve the impact strength and adhesive properties of PC film, UV curing coating which was used on the surface of the PC film achieved good results. However, the combination between the UV curing paint-PC composite membrane had not been explained clearly. In this paper, we analyzed the structure of UV curing varnish oligomers. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) 、X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Liquid Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS) were used to characterize. Through the experiment, we had achieved 4, 4’ -Isopropyliden-edicyclohexanol(HBPA) and Phthalic acid . The existence of the two substances explained the reason why the lacquer had good adhesion, and the result also laid the foundation for the the characterization of the molecular structure about the film later.

In this paper, experiments have been carried out to determine the effect of carbonation on the resistance of sulfate attack of concrete materials. The accelerated carbonate testing was used to prepare the carbonated specimens, and wetting-drying cycles were used to evaluate the resistance of sulfate attack. Results show that longer carbonate time leads to greater depth of carbonation, and fly ash may accelerate the carbonation of concrete materials. The loss of flexural strength was greater than that of compressive strength under the condition of sulfate attack. Carbonation is detrimental to the resistance of sulfate attack.

SnO2 nanowires have been fabricated using thermal evaporation of the mixed powders of SnO2 and active carbon with Au catalysts. The morphology and structure of the prepared nanowires are determined on the basis of field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The comb-shape interdigitating electrode made by MEMS technology is used to auxiliary investigating the gas sensing performance of the synthesized SnO2 nanowires. The SnO2 nanowires have sensing response to acetylene concentration of 1000 ppm under operated temperature of 300°C. The gas sensing mechanism is attributed to the gas adsorption and desorption processes occurring on the surface of the gas sensing material.

In this work, spherical LiFePO4/C composite had been synthesized by co-precipitation and spray drying method. The structure, morphology and electrochemical properties of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron micrograph (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), constant current charge-discharge tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) tests. The spherical LiFePO4/C particles consisted of a number of smaller grains. The results showed that the morphology of LiFePO4/C particles seriously affected the Li-ion diffusion coefficient and electrochemical properties of lithium ion batteries. Electrochemical tests revealed the spherical LiFePO4/C composite had excellent Li-ion diffusion coefficient which was calculated to be 1.065×10-11 cm2/s and discharge capacity of 149 (0.1 C), 139 (0.2 C), 133 (0.5 C), 129 (1 C) and 124 mAhg-1(2 C). After 50 cycles, the capacity retention rate was still 93.5%.

Metallization of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites aggrandized their application to aircraft, automobile, and wind power industries. However, their application is impeded by insufficient coating adhesion strength. In order to enhance coating adhesion strength between metal coating and fiber-reinforced polymer composites substrate, a new electroless-electrolytic plating process is proposed. The plating process of composite includes the preparation composite specimens with interlayer, micro-roughening, decreasing, acid activation, electroless plating and electroplating. The coating adhesion strength was measured by pull-out test.

Polyimide membrane pervaporation was introduced to separate the costly diene mixtures of cyclopentadiene/methylcyclopentadiene (CPD/MCPD) from cracking C5 fractions. Four kinds of membrane solutions were prepared and two kinds of polyimide homogenous membranes were fabricated by thermal imidizations using the dianhydrides (BPADAand PMDA) and the diamines (ODA and DDS). The effect of the casting solutions viscosity on the membrane formation was revealed, and the formation of functional groups and the synthesis mechanisms of the thermal imidizations were indicated by FT-IR. The adsorption behaviors and the pervaporation performances were studies for BPADA-ODA and PMDA-ODA membranes. The results show that the permeation fluxes are 164g∙m-2∙h-1 and 4.2g∙m-2∙h-1 for BPADA-ODA and PMDA-ODA membranes respectively, while the separation factor are 1.93 and 8.9 for these two membranes respectively. 88.5 wt% concentration of MCPD was achieved in the circulated feed side ultimately.

Colossal permittivity (CP) in BaTiO3(BT)-based polycrystalline ceramics with normal grain sizes has been successfully obtained in yttrium (Y) doped BT ceramics (BYT) via a simple and effective method. Considering the necessary factors for CP formation mechanism, well designed doping condition and sintering procedure were carried out in the sample preparation. Characterizations show that BYT is with a pure tetragonal perovskite structure and the grain growth is depressed under the action of Y donor doping. The frequency independence of permittivity and Debye-like relaxation related to Maxwell-Wagner relaxation which occurred at the interfaces between semiconducting grains and insulating grain boundaries can be detected. These are induced by an internal barrier layer capacitance (IBLC)-type structure which formed under an overall and carefully designed synthesis procedure. But the temperature independence of permittivity does not arise because of the particular tetragonal structure and micron dimension grain sizes of BYT.

The shear deformation behavior of the course-grained Cu-8wt%Ag alloy processed by one pass of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was revealed through the metallurgical microscope and the scanning electron microscope. Through the macro-level and micro-level synthesis analysis, it is confirmed that there are two shear deformation during the ECAP processing: the one along the intersection plane (IP) and the other along the vertical plane to the IP. And it is estimated that theoretical ranges of two shear angles are-32°<θ1θ2

The sliding friction and wear behaviors of GCr15 steel against GCr15 steel under dry friction and grease lubrication were investigated on a reciprocating friction and wear tester consisting of a ball-on-disc friction pair. The morphologies of the worn surfaces of discs were analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The result shows that GCr15 steel friction coefficient decreases with the increase of load, and the wear rate decreases with the time going by. There exist larger wear volumes on the friction surface under dry friction, while the wear volumes are relatively minor under grease lubrication. The SEM analysis agree with such results.

A new sacrificial Al-5Zn-0.03In-Er alloy was developed with improved microstructure consisting of Er rich phase and refined α-Al. This paper focused on the influence of Er as alloying element on the microstructure and hardness of Al-5Zn-0.03In alloy. With the increase of Er content, the α-Al was refined and the hardness was improved, at the same time a amount of Er rich phases and particles also appeared. The segregation of Er in the front of the solidification interface results in the refining of α-Al. The higher hardness of the Er containing alloy make it possilbe to apply the alloy under a complicated enviorment where the mechanical property is requred. It is concluded that 4 wt% Er is optimum to obtain the refined microstructure and proper hardness.
