1. Steady Seepage Analysis of the Filled Channel Slope with Anisotropy

Abstract

Middle Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project main canal is grand supplied channel, it has the high requirements for transfer water reliability, so seepage control is particularly important for the channel slope along canal. According to conditions of seepage field and transformed relations of permeability coefficient to respectively simulate the seepage of channel slope with the homogeneous isotropic seepage field and the homogeneous anisotropic seepage field, the mathematical model and finite element model were created for the seepage of the filled channel slope with stratified and rolled, using ANSYS thermal analysis module for steady seepage analysis. Compared analysis shows that the seepage of the stratified and rolled channel slope in homogeneous anisotropic of seepage field is more intense than in homogeneous isotropic of seepage field, the analysis of the stratified channel slope by the homogeneous anisotropic seepage field matches the actual and is also more reasonable.

2. Stability Analysis of Single-Track Railway Long Span Combination Bridge of Arch and Beam

Abstract

For the single-track railway concrete-filled steel tube tied-arch bridge, since restrictions of the bridge width will inevitably lead to a relatively smaller ratio of width to span using long span.The stability is a very prominent issue in design and construction. Taking a 136m span through concrete filled steel tube tied-arch bridge as an object, considering the influence of geometric and material nonlinearity of arch rib, its space stability analysis of the whole bridge is made using finite element program. Its stability factor and the instabil-ity mode are given under the most unfavourable load condition. Instability of the structure is mainly shown in out-plane instability of arch rib. Elastic buckling factor is greater than the general requirement, which satisfies the requirement of the bridge elastic stability. The effect of geometric nonlinearity on stability of the bridge is smaller while the effect of material nonlinearity is greater, which should be considered in the stability analysis of long span arch bridge. After the arch ribs are progressively loaded, the ultimate loads of the arch ribs are obtained. Effects and variation law of transverse brace layout, arch rib inclination angle and ratio of height to span of the arch to the stability of this bridge are revealed.

3. Influences of Beam-Arch Combination Bridge Structure Arrangement on Mechanical Characteristics

Abstract

For the arrangement of suspender and arch rib in the combination of beam and arch bridge, the finite element model is established according to the background of practical engineering. The influence of the variations of structure design parameters on structure characteristics of the static and dynamic is analyzed. The calculation results show that the different layout of suspender has small effect on the axial force variations of tie beam and arch rib, but has bigger influence on the bending moment of partial section. The structural transverse basic frequency augments with increase of arch rib leaning-angle, the vertical and twisting basic frequency is larger when the leaning suspender and netted suspender are used. The arrangement of suspender and arch rib should be optimized in the design of similar bridge.

4. Observation Study on the Stability of Frozen Soil Roadbed Equipped with Thermosyphon in Chaidaer-Muli Railway

Abstract

The Chaidaer-muli railway winds along the Datong River in the central region of the Qilian Mountains. The widely distributed permafrost along the railway is characterized by swampy and warm, which leads to the poor Engineering geologic conditions of the transportation line from the point of frozen soil. That the extending direction of the railway is nearly southeast-northwest causes its roadbed experience the yin-yang slope problems. To improve the stability of frozen soil roadbed, proactive cooling measures were adopted in a large proportion of the roadbed with permafrost, in which about 20km railway was equipped with thermosyphon. At the same time, different design parameter was adopted in the sunny and shady side slopes in the thermosyphon parts. Observation data in the experimental section with warm permafrost shows, under the condition of current thermosyphon techniques and design parameters, thermosyphon measures can effectively cool the frozen soil roadbed, substantially reduce the settlement and successfully solve the yin-yang slope problem of the railway subgrade in swampy warm permafrost.
