The contamination of nitrate in mincro-polluted water is a serious problem nowadays. Drinking the nitrate-contaminated water will do harm to peoples health. In this article, the nitrate removal with biofilm-electrode process which is based on the autohydrogentrophic denitrification is elucidated, as well as factors which have effects on the performance of the reactor. The advantages of carbon anode are discussed.

Porous slag haycite for phosphorus removal was made from slag, as the main raw material, clay, as binder, and ammonium hydrogen carbonate, as a pore forming agent. And the influence of material ratio and sintering condition were investigated. The best ratio of steel slag: Clay: ammonium hydrogen carbonate was 53.5%:42.5%:4% as ascertained, and the best sintering temperature 800°C, sintering time 60min. The porosity of slag haycite was 2 times more than original slag, and the specific surface area was increased evidently, thus very conducive to microbial growth.

Two kinds of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composites PTFE/GF/Gr (sample 1) and PTFE/GF/Gr/Cu (sample 2) were prepared by mixed molding method. X-ray diffraction results show that sample 2 is crystal structure, while sample 1 is amorphous/crystal structure. They were processed into the bearing bushes, which were installed on the water pump bearing to study the influence of different structures on friction properties by rotating bearing. Experimental results reveal that the wearing rate of sample 2 is much higher than that of sample 1. From the optical microscope and SEM analysis of the worn surface, it indicates that the wearing mechanism of sample 1 with amorphous structure is adhesive wearing, while that of sample 2 is abrasive and fatigue wearing mechanism. Our results indicate that the PTFE composition with amorphous matrix can be used to sliding bearings because of its ideal self-lubricating properties.

Steel-making slag haydite was prepared with steel slag and clay. Bath sorption experiments were carried out to study the adsorption characteristic of steel-making slag haydite for phosphorus (P). The results show that the adsorption process of steel slag haydite for P conforms to pseudo-second-order kinetic equation, and the activated energy was 41.52KJ/mol. Isothermal adsorption process conforms to the Laguir equation , and at 20°C ~ 40°C, the maximum P uptake value increased from 1.166 mg/g to 2.422 mg/g. Both kinetic and thermodynamic studies indicate that chemical adsorption is the dominant mechanism for P removal which would be promoted by heating-up, and the reaction is heat-absorbed, thermal charge-increasing and spontaneous.

In recent years, structural health monitoring has been paid more and more attention in bridge engineering community. Previous researches showed that ambient temperature was one of principal factors affecting structural modal parameters in long-term. In this paper, an experimental study on correlation between dynamic properties of a cable-stayed bridge and its structural temperature was performed under temperature controlled laboratory environment. Using hammer impacting method, a dynamic testing was conducted based on a steel cable-stayed bridge model which had a span layout of 0.9+1.9+0.9m. During the experiment, the first six vertical bending modes under the environmental temperature of 0, 20 and 40°C were identified with the consideration of three kinds of boundary conditions at the deck’s ends as to two degrees of freedom, i.e. the longitudinal translation (UX) and the rotation about the transverse beam (RotZ). The above boundary conditions are UX & RotZ not constrained, UX constrained only and UX & RotZ constrained, attempting to simulate the different conditions of the bridge expansion joints. The efforts were paid to explain the physical mechanism of the results based on the updated FE model. This experimental study indicates a tendency that the frequency of the cable-stayed bridge model decreases with the increase of temperature. And furthermore, the relative difference of frequencies between 0 and 40 °C is affected by boundary conditions; in other words, when the deck is free to expand, the variation of model’s frequencies is smaller than that when the deck is restrained to expand, which is similar to the condition of the bridge’s expansion joints cannot work as normal. This experimental study can give some reference to the research of SHM and damage identification for cable-stayed bridges.

In order to improve the access efficiency of small items storage system in Automatic Storage & Retrieval System, we use the particle swarm optimization approach to analyze and optimize its order-picking path by taking the carousel with double sorting tables as research object. Through the analysis of order-picking process, a mathematical model for solving optimization of order-picking path is brought forward, and a solving process based on particle swarm is designed aiming at this model and testing the effectiveness of this algorithm. The experimental simulation proves that PSO can be the fast, stable and effective solution to the optimization problem of order-picking path for double sorting tables, thereby improving the overall operation efficiency of Automatic Storage & Retrieval System.
