A 600 MW coal-fired power plant was taken as the object. How to optimize the operations conditions to keep good economics was investigated. The results show that the turbine heat rate of this unit after class I, II correction and aging correction was lower than the designed value. The unit was operated under good conditions. Throttling can decrease the performance ability of the steam in the turbine. Decreasing the throttling loss is beneficial to enhance the economics of the coal-fired power plant in practice.
