1. 12-Watt CW Polycrystalline Cr2+:ZnSe Laser Pumped by Tm-fiber Laser

Abstract

We demonstrate high-power (12 W, 43% efficient) polycrystalline Cr2+:ZnSe CW laser, operating at 2425 nm, pumped by Tm-fiber laser at 1908 nm. The output power shows no roll-off indicating that much higher output-powers are achievable.

Abstract

Spectroscopic characterization of the Fe3+ ions in the CdMnTe in the 2000-7000 nm spectral range at 14-300K temperatures demonstrates feasibility of the gain-switched oscillation of the crystal at room temperature over 4000-6500 nm spectral range.

Abstract

We demonstrate polycrystalline Cr2+:ZnSe CW rapidly-tunable (4.5 μm/s) high-power (150 mW) single-longitudinal-mode laser; widely-tunable (2.12-2.77 μm) multi-watt (2 W) laser; high-power (6 W) highly-efficient (48%) laser; and high-power (3 W) highly-efficient (41%) microchip laser.

Abstract

Fe:ZnSe and ZnS polycrystals as passive Q-switches for Er:Cr:YSGG lasers operating at 2.8µm are introduced. Samples with 1-7cm-1 absorption coefficients were prepared using thermal diffusion of iron in CVD grown polycrystalline ZnSe and ZnS.

Abstract

Spectroscopic properties of Fe2+ in pure and Cr2+ co-doped ZnSe under 5E→5T2 excitation, via Fe2+ ionization transitions, and Cr2+=>Fe2+ energy transfer are studied. RT gain-switched lasing of Fe2+:ZnSe tunable over 3.9-4.8µm spectral range is reported.

Abstract

The first Stokes component (2.31 µm) and four Stokes components up to 2.75 and 3.7-µm were obtained in a BaWO4 crystal under 1.9-µm and 1.56-µm pumping, respectively. SRS and laser breakdown thresholds were measured.

We report an efficient, Ho:YAG laser system pumped by 22W Tm-fiber laser producing 10 W of CW power and 15 mJ of pulse energy in the Q-switched regime with a pulse duration of 17 ns.

Abstract

MBE growth and photoluminescence study of thin films and bulk Cr2+:ZnSe are reported. We show that MBE provides optically active chromium in ZnSe and is viable for fabrication of optically and electrically pumped laser structures.

Spectroscopic properties of Cr2+ ions in ZnSe crystal under UV, Visible and MIR pumping are studied. Cr2+:ZnSe lasing using 532nm excitation is reported. Ionization mechanisms of Chromium ions responsible for energy transfer are discussed.
