To enhance the utilization of clean energy sources, such as wind power and photovoltaic within virtual power plants, and mitigate carbon emissions, this paper proposes a virtual power plant participation in the electricity carbon joint market optimization operation model based on ensemble empirical mode decomposition–improved bat algorithm (IBA)–Markov chain new energy output prediction. First, complementary set empirical mode decomposition is performed on historical data to construct a Markov chain based wind power and photovoltaic prediction model optimized by IBA. Second, this prediction model is used to predict the daily generation power of wind power and photovoltaic power. Finally, with the optimization goals of maximizing the benefits and minimizing the carbon costs of virtual power plants, a virtual power plant system participating in the electricity carbon joint market model based on wind power and photovoltaic output prediction results is constructed. At the same time, demand response factors are introduced and solved using the NSGA-II algorithm. Taking a certain park as an example for simulation analysis, the research results show that the combined effect of carbon market and demand response can achieve 99.82% of new energy consumption in virtual power plants without significantly reducing profits, basically achieving complete new energy consumption, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed model in this paper. The efficient utilization of renewable energy is a key technology area of high domestic and international concern, and the research and development of DC–DC photovoltaic converters with high conversion efficiency is of great significance for improving performance and reducing the cost of solar power generation systems. In order to improve the conversion efficiency of solar energy, this paper proposes the design of a high-efficiency photovoltaic DC–DC converter with a non-isolated DC–DC converter as the object of the study. Solar power conversion is accomplished by designing a simple and reliable snubber circuit and a triode auxiliary circuit and tracking the maximum power point by combining the perturbation observation method with variable step size. The snubber circuit can effectively suppress the problems of pulse spikes and oscillations, and the triode auxiliary circuit prevents the reverse current and improves the switching speed, which reduces the switching loss and combines with the perturbation observation method with variable step size for fast and stable tracking of the maximum power point. In order to verify the feasibility of the converter, a 600 W prototype is designed. The experimental results show that using the snubber circuit reduces the pulse spike by 4.2 V and the overshoot is reduced by 4.3%. The maximum conversion efficiency is increased by 0.88% with the use of the transistor-assisted circuit, and the tracking efficiency of the MPPT is still stable under cloudy conditions. Railway traffic plays a pivotal role within the current transportation system, with ensuring its safety being of paramount importance. Real-time monitoring of train track health through sensor technology has emerged as a significant approach for achieving this objective. However, a persistent challenge lies in providing cost-effective and stable power to sensors in remote areas. This paper proposes the utilization of a novel piezoelectric stack energy harvester in railway systems to address this issue. The substantial and consistent vibration energy produced by railway operations makes it an ideal source for energy harvesting, unaffected by environmental conditions. Through simulation analysis and experimental verification, this study explores the impact of load size, load frequency, and external resistance on the energy harvesting efficiency of the proposed piezoelectric stack energy harvester. The results indicate that the output power of the energy harvester increases with the load size. Furthermore, the frequency significantly influences the energy capture efficiency when below 8 Hz, with minimal impact on frequencies above 8 Hz. Interestingly, the load dramatically affects the energy capture efficiency, even at higher frequencies. The prevention and treatment of organic pollutants in wastewater have attracted extensive attention because they threaten ecological balance and human health. Traditional wastewater treatment technologies, such as physical, chemical, biological methods, etc., are still limiting and challenging due to some factors, such as high energy consumption, chemical agents, low efficiency, and secondary pollution. At present, gliding arc plasma, based on equilibrium/non-equilibrium in plasma temperature, demonstrates itself to be one of the most promising technologies for the degradation of refractory organics with its fast degradation rates, no secondary contamination, high efficiency, and so on. The theoretical mechanisms and typical applications of gliding arc plasma degradation of wastewater are introduced in detail in this paper. Hydropower station tailwater channel is often prone to elevated water levels and insufficient energy consumption, which leads to the influence of the output of the unit. To study the intrinsic connection between the water flow state and elevated water level in the tailwater channel, this paper investigates the water flow characteristics inside the tailwater channel of the Mupo Hydropower Station under different heads and verifies the accuracy of numerical calculations by constructing a physical model test platform. The results show that the maximum velocity at the bottom of the fluid domain near the anti-slope section of the tailwater channel decreases with the increase of head, while the velocity at the top of the fluid domain near the anti-slope section of the tailwater channel does not change much with the increase of head; a large vortex is formed in the middle of the upper part of the fluid domain in the anti-slope section of the tailwater channel; and the lower the head, the more obvious the vortex is. After the service provider temporarily selects the required edge nodes based on social and storage capabilities, application execution causes the edge nodes to cache part of the application data. Therefore, offloading part of the application computing tasks to the selected edge nodes can effectively improve application execution performance. However, in cases where the resources of user's IoT devices are insufficient, tasks can be further offloaded to traditional edge servers or even to the cloud to maximize application execution efficiency. In this paper, the entire uninstall utility is modeled as a weighted sum of task completion time and energy consumption. Under the premise of considering users' preferences for completion time and energy consumption, a game-based uninstallation algorithm is proposed. The algorithm performs uninstallation by optimizing the uninstallation decision. Based on user preferences, the total system overhead is relatively small. With the rapid growth of big data information and the continuous iteration progress of CPU architecture, the implementation of a new memory-based cache architecture is urgent and challenging. In the paper, a CPU cache architecture system based on MRAM is built. Firstly, the performance of SRAM, STT-MRAM and SOT-MRAM as caches from 8 kb to 32 Mb is evaluated. Secondly, by summarizing the performance of SRAM and MRAM in different cache levels, a new quad-core CPU cache architecture design scheme with SOT-MRAM as the first level of cache and STT-MRAM as the second level of cache is determined. Thirdly, the built cache system is simulated. A non-inclusive strategy is proposed to replace the inclusive strategy in order to solve the problem of high dynamic energy of STT-MRAM at the second level. The idea of having a quad-core CPU dynamically share the second-level cache is proposed in the paper. Finally, the caching system in the paper is compared with the other previous works, showing up to 60.78% energy consumption advantage and 33.22% leakage power advantage. In order to control the collision of long-span cable-stayed bridges with floating systems caused by large longitudinal displacement of beam ends under earthquake action, based on the engineering background of a long-span dual-purpose double-tower cable-stayed bridge, the collision problem of the main approach bridge under earthquake action is proposed. Two kinds of intelligent fuzzy control strategies based on different membership functions are presented, using MR Damper as a control device and modeled by SIMULINK. In this paper, the damping control effect of the proposed fuzzy control strategy on the collision problem of the main approach bridge of the cable-stayed bridge is studied. The results show that changing the range of the membership function will change the size of the control current, and the longitudinal displacement and acceleration of the structure will decrease with the increase in the control current. However, when the control current is too large, the acceleration response will be amplified and oscillated. Both fuzzy controls can reduce collision times, and the peak value of collision force between the main approach bridges and the energy consumption of the MR damper are roughly similar. Based on the control effect of longitudinal displacement response, acceleration response, and collision force response of the main approach bridge and the energy consumption of the damper, fuzzy control A is better than fuzzy control B. Energy conversion efficiency and operation bandwidth are two main concerns in piezoelectric energy harvesting in low-frequency vibration environments. This paper presents a compact two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear piezoelectric energy harvester (2DOF NPEH) with a stopper. The proposed harvester consists of an elastic beam, a piezoelectric beam with tip mass, a pair of repulsive magnets, and a mechanical stopper. A bistable configuration is established through magnetic interaction. This study investigates the generating characteristics of the 2DOF NPEH under frequency-sweep excitation, utilizing a rigid stopper (RS) and different elastic stoppers (ESs). The experimental results indicate that the implementation of a mechanical stopper in a NPEH contributes to widening the operation bandwidth and enhancing the peak voltage. As the stiffness of the stopper increases, the bandwidth gradually shrinks while the peak voltage increases. The optimal energy conversion efficiency depends on the stiffness of the ES, and it occurs when the wire diameter of the spring is 1.2 mm. Compared with the 2DOF NPEH without a stopper, the utilization of a RS results in a 13.85-fold increase in the bandwidth of the generator at the first resonance. Moreover, the maximum absolute voltage is 12.82 times and 3.47 times the output voltage of the 2DOF NPEH at the first and second resonance, respectively. Silicon-on-insulator (SOI) devices have many advantages, such as high speed, low energy consumption, radiation-hard, and high integration. In this paper, the separation by implanted oxygen process under low-dose implantation conditions is studied by the two-step implantation method combined with the internal thermal oxidation process. The effects of different types of silicon wafers and different implantation doses on SOI surface defects, top Si thickness, buried oxide (BOX) layer thickness, BOX layer breakdown voltage, and top Si defect density were investigated. Ultra-thin SOI wafers are prepared by epitaxial silicon wafers and control the first implantation dose. The number of surface defects of SOI materials is less than 100 counts, the breakdown voltage of the BOX layer is about 7.8 MV/cm, and the top Si dislocation density is about 8 × 103 cm−2. MEMS electric energy utilization rate is the key parameter affecting firing performance. It has important relationship with its preparation technology, microscale and structure morphology. In order to improve the theory of energy exchange element design for MEMS pyrotechnics, reduce the design error of transducer parameters at microscale. To ensure the performance of MEMS pyrotechnics, in this paper, the influence of the central line of the thin film transducer element on the electrothermal conversion is simulated and analyzed. The electrothermal conversion and temperature characterization of different central lines in the transducer bridge area are calculated by the finite element method. Electromechanical metamaterials have been the focus of many recent studies for use in simultaneous energy harvesting and vibration control. Metamaterials with quasiperiodic patterns possess many useful topological properties that make them a good candidate for study. However, it is currently unknown what effect electromechanical coupling may have on the topological bandgaps and localized edge modes of a quasiperiodic metamaterial. In this paper, we study a quasiperiodic metamaterial with electromechanical resonators to investigate the effect on its bandgaps and localized vibration modes. We derive here the analytical dispersion surfaces of the proposed metamaterial. A semi-infinite system is also simulated numerically to validate the analytical results and show the band structure for different quasiperiodic patterns, load resistors, and electromechanical coupling coefficients. The topological nature of the bandgaps is detailed through an estimation of the integrated density of states. Furthermore, the presence of topological edge modes is determined through numerical simulation of the energy harvested from the system. The results indicate that quasiperiodic metamaterials with electromechanical resonators can be used for effective energy harvesting without changes in the bandgap topology for weak electromechanical coupling. This paper studies the thermal conduction of Frenkel–Kontorva (FK)-ϕ4 lattices with the finite number of atoms under a periodic force. Through numerical simulations, we find that in the thermal conduction of non-linear lattices, external periodic signals can act in conjunction with noise to create stochastic resonance behaviors and that some adjustable dynamical parameters, such as the onsite potential of the FK and ϕ4 lattices, the amplitude and frequency of external periodic signals, can regulate heat flux. With the ever-growing demands for sampling rate, conversion resolution, as well as lower energy consumption, the memristor-based neuromorphic analog-to-digital converters (MN-ADC) becomes one of the most potential approaches to break the bottleneck for traditional ADCs. However, the online trainable MN-ADCs are not designed to be easily integrated into the 1T1R crossbar array, meanwhile suffering from the device non-idealities, which makes it difficult to realize high-speed and accurate conversion. To overcome these issues, this paper proposes a high-reliable 2T2R synaptic structure. And through the dedicated structure, we construct a 4-bit MN-ADC that allows for alternate conversions and online adjustments in a single clock period, which can significantly mitigate the effects of device non-idealities on dynamic performance. More importantly, this structure can be perfectly compatible with 1T1R crossbar arrays. Pulsed eddy current (PEC) testing has attracted widespread attention because of its unique advantages in detecting local defects in insulated pipes. In this paper, rectangular, U-shaped, and semicircular PEC focusing probes are designed, the magnetic energy utilization efficiency and focusing properties of the developed probes are simulated and compared, and their detection sensitivities are experimentally compared. The magnetic flux through specific surfaces is calculated to find the utilization of magnetic energy by the different probes, and the eddy current dissipation power is used to quantitatively describe the eddy current field focusing properties of various types of probes. The simulation results show that the magnetic field energy utilization efficiency of the semicircular focusing probe is significantly higher than that of the other two probes, but the eddy current field distributions of the three probes are similar, and the focusing properties are not significantly different. The experimental results show that the three types of PEC probes can effectively detect local defects under a certain lift-off. By calculating the detection sensitivity of different probes to defects under different lift-off conditions, it is determined that the detection sensitivity of the semicircular probe is significantly higher than that of the U-shaped probe and rectangular probe. The experimental results are consistent with the numerical simulation results. The research results are conducive to the optimal design of PEC focusing probes for insulated pipes. Wireless power transfer (WPT), which transfers energy without a physical link, has recently received significant research interest. Due to the advantages of small dimension, low operation frequency, and low transmission loss, magnetoelectric WPT (ME-WPT) has been shown to be a promising technology for internet of things (IoT) and implantable medical device (IMD) applications. However, ME-WPT requires a direct-current (DC) magnetic bias for optimal performance and prior arts have implemented large electromagnets, Helmholtz coils, or externally positioned magnet bias systems, which increase the system dimension. Furthermore, the highest energy conversion efficiency (ECE) reported by prior ME-WPT studies is 0.62%, which needs to be improved. In this paper, we present an ME-WPT system with a novel miniaturized ME-WPT receiver and a spiral coil based transmitter. Four DC magnets are integrated onto the ME-WPT receiver to significantly reduce its dimension while providing a DC magnetic bias of 190 Oe for optimal performance. Electrochemical polarization characterizations are introduced to analyze the performance of the WPT receiver, which reveal that a maximum output power of 4.096 mW is obtained. A record ECE of 2.64% is reported, the highest among all ME-WPTs to date. The output power is improved by at least 49.3 times compared with the ME-WPT without integrated DC magnets. The influence of the input voltage and the distance between transmitter/receiver on the performance of the ME-WPT system is studied, which shows that the output power increases as the distance decreases and the input voltage increases. The control of discharge mode and the optimization of energy efficiency are of particular concern as the significant impact on the application of the underwater plasma discharge system. In this paper, the RLC parameters of each part of the underwater discharge system are investigated, and the equivalent circuit is obtained. Typical waveforms of current and voltage for different underwater discharge modes are displayed. The correlation between the equivalent RLC parameters of the discharge system and the discharge modes and energy is illustrated. The equivalent circuit of the underwater plasma discharge system is utilized to analyze the effects of the power source, electrode, and liquid dielectric parameters. The influences of these parameters can be identical to the impacts on the RLC parameters of the underwater discharge system equivalent circuit simultaneously, and then, the effects on the discharge modes and energy can be better understood. It can be concluded that the relative relationship of system equivalent RLC parameters determines the discharge mode, and the impedance matching between the discharge channel and the external circuit determines the discharge energy. In order to reduce the size of high impedance diodes and magnetic energy consumptions, a high impedance intense current diode is designed in this paper. By reducing the center radius of the cathode and utilizing the gradient magnetic field, the electron beam is emitted in the cathode with a small radius and transmitted in the drift tube with a large radius. The influence of magnetic field distribution on the electron beam transmission is analyzed by particle-in-cell simulation. When the diode voltage is 680 kV, the impedance is 77 Ω, and the cathode radius is 60 mm, the anode radius of the traditional diode is 116 mm and the cathode–anode axial gap is 57 mm. At the same voltage and impedance, the cathode radius of the novel diode is 38 mm, the anode radius is reduced to 80 mm, and the cathode–anode axial gap is shortened to 36 mm. Further application of the novel diode to a relativistic triaxial klystron amplifier device shows that the output power of the novel diode is the same as that of the traditional diode. Through simple quantitative analysis, it is found that the magnetic energy consumption of the novel diode is less than that of the traditional diode. This paper describes the improvement in combustion efficiency achieved using streamwise vorticity and fuel injections when using hypermixer struts at high Mach numbers. The effects of fuel injection conditions on combustion were investigated using numerical simulations of chemical reactive flows with a detailed reaction mechanism. Hydrogen fuel was injected from the trailing edges of a separation-resistant strut. Fuel injection at sonic speeds led to an enhancement in efficiency with an increased injection angle at Mach number 2.5, but this improvement was not observed at Mach number 3.5. It was found that hydrogen accumulated in the vortex core because of the strong circulation generated from the strut at high Mach numbers. With fuel injection at speeds exceeding the sonic speed, the efficiency increased, and it improved further with an increasing injection angle. From the results, an important indicator for combustion enhancement was derived from the streamwise vortex circulation, fuel injection velocity, and inflow Mach number. To increase the combustion efficiency using the strut, the indicator value should exceed a threshold. This is crucial for ensuring effective fuel consumption during combustion. In this paper, a 25 000 tons liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered chemical tanker is taken as the research object, and combined with a new integrated intermediate fluid vaporizer (IFV) with cold energy utilization function, four different schemes for LNG cold energy utilization are proposed. Through the performance simulation and optimization analysis of different design schemes, the results show that the full power generation system scheme with two heat regenerators is the best, and the optimized exergy efficiency can reach 53.13%. Because of its compact structure, the LNG cold energy utilization system constructed by the new integrated IFV overcomes the huge and complex problem of the original separate equipment system. Furthermore, through the technical and economic analysis of the optimized design system scheme, the equipment investment cost in the early stage of the system is CNY 1 864 200, the annual system operating income is CNY 712 500, and the annual net income of the system is CNY 451 600. Vibrational–translational (V–T) relaxation is quite common in molecular nitrogen discharge non-equilibrium plasmas. In this paper, the energy relaxation in V–T transition is investigated by master equation modeling on all vibrational levels below the dissociation limit. The state-to-state transition rates are calculated by a forced harmonic oscillator (HO)-free rotating model. Meanwhile, the classic Landau–Teller model based on the HO of vibrational levels is revisited. First, the V–T relaxation in a heat bath is compared between the HO model, Morse's anharmonic oscillator (AHO) model, and realistic vibrational levels by a direct-potential-fit analysis of spectroscopic data. The relaxation of average vibrational energy using the AHO model is faster than that using the HO model. Then, the influence of more frequent vibrational–vibrational (V–V) collision on the V–T transition in the heat bath is investigated by using different numbers of vibrational levels. The anharmonic effect is significant with more vibrational levels. Finally, the V–T energy transfer is modeled by a coupled solution to master equations and gas heating. The stronger the non-equilibrium between vibrational and translational temperature in the beginning, the larger the difference that can be obtained between the HO model (Landau–Teller theory) and realistic vibrational levels. Plasma treatment of porous polymeric materials is a critical technology for creating new polymer materials that can be used in various applications. Porous polymers can be used in new approaches for creation of safe and compact hydrogen storage systems that can dramatically change existing hydrogen energy utilization. There are other potential applications for the development of new types of biocompatible and biodegradable polymeric materials for general use and for creation of new types of implants and dressing materials in medicine. Clarification of breakdown conditions of narrow discharge gaps in the micrometer region and optimization of the treatment process for different gap dimensions is the goal of this paper. The article is devoted to the experimental study of the breakdown process in the discharge gap by pulsed barrier discharge at different pressures and gaps in the region of the minimum of the Paschen curve. New approximation of the Paschen curve with the variable γ as a function of Pd, which is in good correlation with experimental results, has been proposed. A new approach is proposed for treating the inner surface of dielectric material pores with a barrier discharge, optimizing the pressure inside the pores; treating pores of a micron size requires a pressure significantly higher than atmospheric. The first results were obtained, which demonstrated the possibility of modifying the thickness of the polymer material by treatment with the barrier discharge at the time of gas pressure relief in the discharge chamber. In this paper, we propose a hybrid CMOS and phase-change memory (PCM)-relaxation-oscillator based circuit for temperature-sensing applications. Unlike conventional CMOS temperature sensors based on ring- or relaxation-oscillators, the proposed sensor does not require any curvature calibration technique for linearity improvement of the thermal response. The presented system explores the temperature dependence of Ovonic-threshold-switching voltage (Vth) and DC OFF state resistance (ROFF) of a PCM device. The proposed temperature sensor exhibits a resolution of ∼0.04 °C (for the 0 °C to 80 °C temperature range) with 0.51 nJ energy consumption per conversion in simulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main purpose of this paper is to optimize the consumption of renewable energy and minimize the total cost of system operation, and a combined heat and power unit is added to the wind, water, and water combined dispatching model to solve typical daily dispatch problems in different seasons. Initially, a combined wind–solar–water-fired optimal scheduling model containing cogeneration units and renewable energy preferential consumption is constructed, and the model is solved using particle swarm optimization with the genetic algorithm. The simulation analysis of typical electrical load and heat load during summer and winter in a certain area is implemented as an example to verify the feasibility of the model and algorithm. Compared with the traditional vertical integrated electric-heated coordinated dispatch, the proposed method reflects the willingness of the combined heat and power to actively participate in the paid peak regulation of the power grid under economic incentives. Proof mass can adjust the natural frequency of a cantilevered energy harvester to fit the vibration source frequency and, hence, improve energy efficiency. In this paper, a cantilevered energy harvesting model including a proof mass is presented based on the flexoelectric theory. The electromechanical coupling responses at steady state are obtained for harmonic excitations and then reduced to single-mode expressions for modal excitations. The flexoelectric coupling coefficient, which represents conversion of energy, is investigated. The numerical results reveal that the flexoelectric coupling coefficient can be improved by adjusting the proof mass to make the vibration frequency of the microbeam adapt to that of the ambient vibration source. The adjusting strategies have also been formulated. In addition, the flexoelectric coupling coefficient increases with the decrease in the thickness of the microbeam. As expected, the flexoelectric coupling coefficient can further be enhanced when the beam thickness reaches nanometer scale. For the beam thickness h = 0.3 μm, the current output decreases and the voltage output increases with the increase in the electrical load resistance. When the electrical load resistance is around 100 MΩ, the power output arrives at its maximum. The resonance frequency shifts from 34 693 Hz to 35 350 Hz with the increase in the load resistance from short- to open-circuit conditions, and the flexoelectric coupling coefficient for this thickness lever is kr ≈ 0.19. Electric discharge in liquids is an emerging field of research, and is involved into various environmental applications (water purification, fuel reforming, nanomaterial synthesis, etc.). Increasing the treatment efficiency with simultaneous decreasing of the energy consumption are the main goals of today's research. Here we present an experimental study of nanosecond discharge in distilled water covered by a layer of dielectric material. We demonstrate through this paper that the discharge efficiency can be improved by changing the interface position regarding the anode tip. On the way towards high memory density and computer performance, a considerable development in energy efficiency represents the foremost aspiration in future information technology. Complementary resistive switch consists of two antiserial resistive switching memory (RRAM) elements and allows for the construction of large passive crossbar arrays by solving the sneak path problem in combination with a drastic reduction of the power consumption. Here we present a titanium oxide based complementary RRAM (CRRAM) device with Pt top and TiN bottom electrode. A subsequent post metal annealing at 400°C induces CRRAM. Forming voltage of 4.3 V is required for this device to initiate switching process. The same device also exhibiting bipolar switching at lower compliance current, Ic <50 μA. The CRRAM device have high reliabilities. Formation of intermediate titanium oxi-nitride layer is confirmed from the cross-sectional HRTEM analysis. The origin of complementary switching mechanism have been discussed with AES, HRTEM analysis and schematic diagram.
