The article is focused on studying Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) of alumina-filled polymer objects and their thermal properties. To track influence of inclusion type on thermal diffusivity of 3D printed samples with equiaxed and needle-like Al2O3 particles were made. The difference between the microstructure of needle and equiaxed compositions was evaluated using Phenom G2Pro (Phenom-World BV, Eindhoven, The Netherlands). The tests of thermal diffusivity were carried out on LFA 467 HT HyperFlash setup (NETZSCH Inc., Germany). It was found that the addition of 20 vol. % of ceramic particles in polyamide (PA12) increases its thermal conductivity, and the shape and location of inclusions play an important role in heat flow processes. The authors discuss the process of ceramic-polymer filament obtaining based on aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and polylactide (PLA) for its use in 3D printing technology by fused deposition modeling method (FDM). They consider ceramic polymer compositions with the following component ratio: 30% PLA and 70% Al2O3; 40% PLA and 60% Al2O3; 50% PLA and 50% Al2O3. The compositions were obtained by the colloidal method on a ball mill in distilled water, followed by drying in a vacuum oven and sieving. The microstructure and elemental composition of the mixtures have been studied. The modes of extrusion of the obtained ceramic-polymer compositions are selected. The most advantageous composition of a ceramic-polymer mixture of 40% PLA and 60% Al2O3 has been determined for further use in creating three-dimensional objects by FDM. Barium aluminate was obtained by sol-gel method. We used a heat treatment in an oven at 130°C, and microwave radiation for drying the gel. To obtain a crystalline product all samples were calcined in the muffle furnace at the temperatures up to 1100°C. Complex studies were used to identify the dynamics of phase and structural transformations in the synthesis of barium aluminate. The main stages of formation BaAl2O4 were determined by thermal analysis; evolution of phase composition and crystal structure were studied using X-ray diffraction and IR-spectroscopy. The morphology of surface of the barium aluminate was investigated by scanning electron microscope. In the work fluorescent material with composition Ba1-xEuxAl2O4 was obtained. The maximum of luminescent intensity is achieved with content of Eu3+ equal 0.75 mol in the case of processing of gel by microwaves. The phosphor obtained by heat treatment in an oven gel has a composition Ba0.9Eu0.1Al2O4. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
