This research aims to analyze gender difference in cryptarithmetic problem-solving with "funtastic" battle math game. The respondent 29 student of the 4th graders in the elementary school, 16 female and 13 male students. The research approach was qualitative and quantitative. The data were collected through paper and pencil test, observation, and interview. The data were analyzed by descriptive and effect size methods. The results showed the average score of male students is lower than female students, however effect size on male students is higher than female. The application of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) for children education in elementary school is a form of educational revolution that integrates various fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in the learning activities process. The STEAM approach supports the development of students' scientific inquiry with the ability to design processes for how tools can be work. Teacher's and student books of Curriculum 2013 for 5th grade of elementary school learning was analysed by descriptive qualitative methods. The object of the research is the curriculum 2013 for 5th grade of elementary school. The data collection technique used documentation analysis, while the data analysis was carried out using the Milles and Huberman (1) model which included data collection, data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing/ verification. The results showed that the use of the Teacher's and student books of Curriculum 2013 for 5th grade of elementary school in learning provided opportunities for students to explore, analyse, and create. Student's practice and develop materials in learning activities so that are able to think critically in problem solving, collaborate and have leadership spirit, have dexterity and adaptability, initiative and entrepreneurial spirit, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, access and analyse information, have curiosity and imagination, and also have productivity and accountability, as well as being able to innovate. Elementary school teachers in the digital era must be competent in developing learning media based on ICT equipment, which is one of the skills in ICT competencies. ICT-based learning media development competency is important for elementary school teachers because students' learning needs and styles in this age have shifted due to digitalization. Unfortunately, not all teachers possesses this competency and not all teachers is good at it. One of the reasons for this is that teachers have not received good training in developing pedagogical skills for the digital era. Considering the importance of ICT competencies, this research was carried out to determine what elementary school teachers need skills in developing learning media in this digital age. This study implemented a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 160 teachers in urban and rural areas in Indonesia. The results of this study are a list of skills needed by elementary school teachers to have good ICT competencies, especially in developing learning media that suit the digital era. Slow learners are one type of special needs student who attends regular schools. Slow learner students have lower cognitive abilities than regular students, resulting in a slower level of understanding. As a result, slow learners require concrete examples during the learning process. Recognizing numbers is one of the difficulties that slow learners face in elementary school. As a result, elementary school teachers must use more concrete learning media when teaching slow learner students to recognize and write numbers. The purpose of this study is to develop a thematic trace book as a learning medium to help slow learners recognize and write numbers. The trace book was created with rough-textured letters and numbers to provide a sensory-motor stimulus for slow learners. This is a development study using a 4D development model (define, design, development, & disseminate). The trace book material developed is limited to numbers 1-10. The themes for the trace book were chosen to correspond with the elementary school curriculum. The instruments used to assess the developed books are expert assessment sheets, student, and teacher response questionnaires. The findings revealed that the book was deemed valid by experts and useful by students and teachers. The findings of this development study show that the experts' evaluation of the trace book meets very high standards. On the criteria, the average score of teacher and student responses is excellent. Mobile game-based learning (MGBL) was a type of educational adaptation for the 21st-century learning system and industry 4.0. The massive media coverage of the harmful effects of smartphones on children, on the other hand, has influenced parents' and teachers' perceptions. As a result, the goal of this study was to examine parents' and teachers' perceptions towards MGBL in integrated thematic learning and to identify the appropriate criteria for MGBL acceptance. This study took a quantitative approach, including mixed methods correlation research. 32 teachers and 120 parents from eight primary schools in Padang, West Sumatra, took part in the study. The study's findings are as follows: (1) The Independent Samples T-Test revealed a significant difference in attitudes toward using smartphones as a learning platform between parents and teachers (2) The Independent Samples T-Test revealed significant differences between parents who are familiar with MGBL and teachers who are familiar with MGBL (3) After being introduced, 76.8% of parents and 89.2% of teachers agreed that MGBL should be used in integrated thematic learning (4) According to Linear Regression Analysis, every aspect that influences MGBL acceptance was positively connected with parents' and teachers' perceptions (5) According to Linear Regression Analysis, teachers' perceptions of MGBL were positively correlated with parents' perceptions. Baduy tribe is an indigenous community who live in the Kanekes village, Banten Province, Indonesia. Through their natural knowledge, the Baduy tribe can create tools that can support their activity. Leuit Lenggang is one of the tools created by Baduy tribe, which serves to store the rice harvest. Although Leuit Lenggang created by the indigenous community, it contains ethnomathematics contents that should be explored. This research aims to describe ethnomathematics in Leuit Lenggang of Baduy tribe, Banten Province, Indonesia. The qualitative research using descriptive method was conducted in this research. The data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation technique about Leuit Lenggang. The data were analyzed using triangulation consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The result showed that in the Leuit Lenggang of the Baduy community, there are geometry contents, including plane figures and solid figures. The ethnomathematics contained in Leuit Lenggang can be resources for mathematics learning and developing mathematics learning media especially in elementary schools. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Creative thinking is an ability that must be possessed by students, because this ability is very important to support mathematics learning. Teachers must be able to identify the level of students' creative thinking skills, especially at the elementary school level. One way to find out the level of Creative Thinking Ability (CTAL) of students is to use High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) oriented questions by asking students to solve problems using various ways. This study aims to determine the level of students' creative thinking skills in solving HOTS-oriented problems on proportion material. This descriptive qualitative research was conducted on fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Bekonang. Data collection methods are tests and interviews. Triangulation method is used by comparing the data obtained from the test method with data obtained from the interview method. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that 17% of students who had CTAL 4 met all indicators, 21% of students had CTAL 3 met 3 indicators, 29% students had CTAL 2 met 2 indicators, 25% students had CTAL 1 only met one indicator, and 8% students have TKBK 0 because they do not meet all indicators. This analysis result can set the basis for teaching references in elementary school and actualizing a better teaching model in order to increase students creative thinking skills. This study uses the writing content of the children's cognition of the moon as a practical evaluation data, the content to detect the true performance and inquiry understanding of the children's cognition of the moon. This study designed the writing assessment of the moon unit. A total of 684 students from grades 3 to 6 in an elementary school in New Taipei City were selected as the subjects. The relationship discussion mode set by experts and senior teachers found that when the children explained the causes of the moon phases of the full moon, the third-grade students had the most other perspectives, while the fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students showed the most perspectives from the cosmic perspective. The main purpose of this research is to understand the status and relationship of the leadership competency of current elementary school principals and to explore its impact with different background variables, perception status, and differences. We used a questionnaire survey method to compile " the principal's leadership competency in elementary schools" for investigation. The principals of public elementary schools in the northern, central, southern, and eastern districts of Taiwan were taken as survey respondents. A total of 420 principals were selected as samples, and 340 valid questionnaires were collected. The response rate of valid questionnaires was 81%. A series of statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data collected. The conclusions of this study are as follows: (1) Primary school principals show good leadership competency, (2) there are significant differences in principal's leadership competency among different background variables, and (3) the cultivation of principal's leadership competency can improve school management effectiveness through the participation and growth of the professional community. The learning process in Indonesian elementary schools uses a thematic model. This policy aims to optimize the achievement of student competencies by integrating various subjects in a particular theme.This observational study aimed to gain an overview of the practice of thematic learning-oriented on the establishment of life skills in initial primary school classes. Through classroom observation, the researchers tried to describe the teaching-learning process that integrated several subjects in a unified theme to develop life skills through training affective, psychomotor, and cognitive competencies equally. Sources of data in this study were students and teachers of 1C grade of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember. The results of the observations show that learning with the theme of "myself" takes place through observing phenomena based on context, digging up information, doing assignments, discuss the results, and strengthening competencies. Through this series of activities, we found students gaining academic and vocational abilities, also showing positive attitudes regarding the subject matter. The lack of comprehension of fractions and operations on fractions among schoolchildren inspired this study. This study took place in MukoMuko Regency's State Elementary School (SD) 04 Lubuk Pinang with a total of 25 students as research subjects. This study is a qualitative descriptive research method that uses both test and non-test instruments. Students are given fractional questions as part of the test and non-tests in the form of interviews with students and teachers. Data identification, data classification, data description, and deriving conclusions are all steps in the data analysis process. The results showed that pupils who properly answered five questions were 0 percent, four questions were 0 percent correct, three questions were 24 percent correct, two correct answers were 24 percent, one correct answer was 52 percent, and everything else was 0 percent incorrect.
