Abstract

Ferromagnetic shape memory alloy with composition Ni50Mn34Sb8Al8 was prepared and its structural transformation temperatures were determined. The replacement of Sb with Al in this alloy led to increase in transition temperature but more interestingly, the low temperature magnetic behavior shows spin glass type nonergodic behavior, in contrast to simple ferromagnetic like other similar alloys. Resistivity measurements confirmed the structural transformation temperatures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
