Proton Computed Tomography is a new imaging technique which reconstructs the relative stopping power more accurately than X-ray Computer Tomography. This gives us a better proton range and it becomes easy to treat small tumors. In this paper, we have discussed the details of the design, construction and high-performance p-MCz Si material tracker detector in the proton computed tomography. It also describes the generations of proton beams of ∼200 MeV energy and how it is delivered to the patient. By using the p-MCz Si microstrip detectors, Si tracker will be able to track the path of protons entering the patient. In addition to proton doses, the Si tracker will also be used to monitor the proton beam profile and total dose delivered during the high fluences used for cancer treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
