Gender inequality in the workplace is a universal issue that is persistent despite ample progressive efforts. The Global Gender Gap Report 2021 states that at the current progress rate, another 100 years are required to achieve gender equality. Gender inequality is quite prominent in the Indian Corporate culture but has not been systematically studied. The study, therefore, attempts to model the most prominent antecedent and its consequences through a survey of 310 women working in corporates from tier I & tier II cities of India. The prominent antecedents identified were Lack of Economic Decision Making, Objectification of Women, Gender Role Beliefs and Strain, Mobility issues, Lack of family support, Violence, and Explicit Discrimination. These antecedents consequently impose a huge impact on women's self-confidence, role in society, and mental health. The study also puts forward recommendations for corrective measures toward promoting gender diversity in Indian corporates. The study adds a unique proposition to an existing body of scientific literature by giving a comprehensive view of a contemporary issue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
