The article focuses on the accident investigation led by Soviet air force Colonel Igor Kuznetsov into the accidental death of Soviet fighter pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin which occurred on March 27, 1968 while he was flying a MiG-15UTI airplane. Kuznetsov determined that the rapid speed of descent Gagarin employed after encountering mechanical issues with his aircraft led to his loss of consciousness, resulting in his crash.
