The article reports on the annual Fort Robinson Outbreak Spiritual Run, which commemorates the 1879 escape of the Cheyenne from Fort Robinson, Nebraska. Mostly women and children attempted the escape, but many were killed by the U.S. Cavalry. The run ends overlooking a monument that marks the repatriation of the remains of those killed. In 2007, more than a hundred Northern Cheyenne youth participated in the 400-mile run.
