In this article, the author discusses aspects of the summer green cleaning and restorative programs of schools and universities in the U.S. in 2011. The author relates on the factors to be considered choosing floor finishes including foot traffic, soil level, and appearance. He recommends product specification references from Healthy Schools Campaign and U.S. Green Building Council. Information on testing of new green technology products is also presented.
