Abstract

The article describes the case of a 69-year-old woman who was diagnosed with esophagael achalasia with recurrent aspiration pneumonia. Computed tomography on the patient showed interstitial lung disease with a reticolomicronodular appearance and mediastinal diffuse lymphoadenomegaly, while barium esophagography showed a megaesophagus with a small paraesophageal hiatal hernia. The patient underwent a laparoscopic distal esophageal myotomy with Dor's fundoplication.
