In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of the defect recognition in rails, the new principle and methods of NDT should be explored, and the safety of railway operation and guiding the repair can be guaranteed. The study is aiming at comparing and analyzing the characteristics of destructive data signals with non-destructive ones. The damage and defect can be judged by the differences of the processed data in the frequency domain and energy spectrum. The location of the defect and damage can be obtained by the singularities of destructive signals using wavelet data processing method: continuous wavelet transform, Mallat algorithm and à Trous algorithm. Based on the above consequence, à Trous algorithm is found that its result is more similar to the real damage location, which proves that the method can be used in the real damage detection and provide us more precise defect location information for early warning.

In order to alleviate the energy constraint in smartphones, computation offloading is regarded as an effective solution. In computation offloading, how to partition a given application is one of the key issues. On obtaining the best partition, due to the time complexity of partition algorithm, most researchers give up looking for a global optimal solution but to find local optimal. In this paper, a global optimal application partition algorithm is presented, the main strategy is scaling down the problem through merging the correlated nodes firstly, then using 0-1ILP to obtain the partition in order to make the mobile energy consumption achieve global optimal minimum, thus it has less time complexity than 0-1 ILP. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm made the same global optimal partition results as 0-1 ILP, while it consumed less time and energy than 0-1 ILP.

Event matching plays a critical role in content-based publish/subscribe system. Most traditional methods focus on existing subscriptions separation and combination. However, an event usually comes with certain probability distribution in each dimension. Thus taking both existing subscriptions and probable coming event into consideration can improve event matching time efficiency. Based on that, we put forward PF (Priority Filter), a highly efficient event matching algorithm. By building up a unified model with historical subscriptions for continuous and discrete attributes, we derive formulas to calculate each attribute’s filtering rate. Besides, in order to guarantee time efficiency both in matching, inserting, and deleting, a red-black tree regarded as a priority filter is built up on all attributes according to filtering rate. Experiments demonstrate that PF has a 30% faster speed compared to existing methods with acceptable insertion and deletion time and memory consumption.

The retraction algorithm could make the whole path lie on the medial axis in 2D environment. However, it limits the initial and goal configuration lie on the medial axis. Therefore the paper proposed a path clearance optimization method to deal with the problem. The method retracted configurations of the original path to the medial axis. Then it added the retracted configurations, the initial and goal configuration to the retracted path. We apply R-retraction algorithm to the local paths, but not to the local paths between the initial, goal configuration and their retracted configurations. Finally, we proposed a method to remove the branches. We validated the algorithm in virtual environment. The experiments showed that the optimization method could make the whole retracted path lie on the medial axis and the start and goal configuration lie on any free space. Also the proposed method can get paths with maximum clearance in 2D environment in real-time.

For the problems of few current defogging effect evaluation methods and limited evaluation methods, it proposes an image clarity effect evaluation method: the method combined with relative contrast and edge similarity. This is because: the contrast degree of fog image and non-fog image is obviously different. While improving image contrast degree, it should also try to make the edge structure of recovery image and reduced image consistent to prevent the recovery image from distorting. The experiment proves that this method can effectively evaluate the clarity effect of each algorithm, and the evaluation result and the subjective feelings of the human eyes are consistent. Compared with the existing evaluation methods, it obtains overall evaluation conclusion and also has a good practicability and reliability.

This paper presents development length comparison between Chinese and Australian codes study on HRB500 steel bars in concrete. After introducing the existing code provisions about the anchorage length and experimental investigation of tensile HRB500 steel bars, the calculation approaches in different codes are compared with the test data. Additionally, the development length of tensile HRB500 reinforcement bars in AS3600-2001, Proposed Revision of AS3600, GB50010-2010 and the calculation equation proposed from test results are compared with each other in beams and slabs. It is proved that AS3600-2001 is inconsistent with other standards and the tests results and needs to be revised, while the Proposed Revision of AS3600 provided a good agreement with the test data and brings the code into line with other international codes, particularly Eurocode 2. Moreover, the Proposed Revision of AS3600 is a significant improvement on the method in AS3600-2001. The anchorage length formula in GB50010-2010 can still be used for designing HRB500 steel bar.

An accurate measurement of noise wave is the key to effective noise control in a tunnel. In this paper, an IP based audio test network is presented. This network includes 100 battery powered recorders and a WIFI network. Each recorder can acquire 2 channels of audio waves and be triggered by external signals of infrared or electrical synchronic pulse. A main control computer connects these recorders to setup parameters and collect data via the WIFI network. Sensors are reassembled to be compatible with the interface of standard sound source. Meanwhile each sensor is fixed in a sensor holder, which can be placed to any position on a plane and can be used to adjust its sensor to 0-180 degrees in both of X-Y direction. The sound source generates various signals, such as clicks, tones, and tone bursts, to help understand how the sound propagates in tunnels. This designed network is capable of acquiring multipoint sound waves synchronously.

High-rise buildings, as a result of rapid urbanization in China, become one of popular structure kind. However, there have been few seismic vulnerability studies on high-rise buildings, and few fragility curves have been developed for the buildings. Based on the published data of more than 50 high rises and super high rises, the structural information such as building heights, mode periods, locations and sites, the maximum design story drift ratios, are collected and analyzed. The vulnerability analysis for high rises uses response spectrum displacement as seismic ground motion input, since the structures have comparatively long natural period. Using statistics and regression analysis, the relationship between the maximum story drift ratio and response spectrum displacement is established. Based on height groups and earthquake design codes, the fragility curves of different performance levels can be developed. These curves can provide good loss estimation of high rise structural damage under earthquake ground motion.

A rigorous mathematical analysis of cross-eye jamming in a radar system scenario and an expression for the induced angular error due to the cross-eye jammer are presented. The simulation results show that there is a Doppler difference between jamming and target return. The Doppler difference increases with the decrease of the distance between the monopulse radar and the platform protected by cross-eye jammer. When the power of target return is not small enough with respect to the power of jamming transmitted by one of the two sources, maybe the sign of the indicated angle is uncontrollable. The simulation results also show that although the cross-eye gain is maximized if two jamming signals are equal amplitude and antiphase, it is not a reasonable choice.

First, edges are extracted form the original images by the Canny edge detector. Then, a fitness function based on the improved Hausdorff distance is constructed. Finally the global harmony search optimization is adopted to optimize the fitness function. Experiments show that the proposed method is able to locate the object of interest globally and efficiently.

An experiment for Marangoni condensation of ethanol-water mixtures was carried out and the departing radius and drop size distribution on vertical surface was presented. An amended formula was obtained after considering the effect of ethanol mass concentration, vapor velocity and condensing temperature difference based on Le Fevre’s formula concerning departing radius of pure water, The calculations were in good agreement with experimental result, had a maximum error less than 23%. Owing to the significant effect on drop size contribution, vapor velocity was introduced into Rose’s formula, and the correctional result compared well with the experimental data.

Fujian Province is one of Coal shortage for the southern provinces, under the premise to ensure safety of existing and the nowadays conditions of mining as much as possible recovery of coal resources under the old empty water. Uncle YongDing County, Fujian Province Coal mining under the old empty water, for example, to carry out joint working face with a high degree of water flowing fractured measured. Because the field complex geological conditions, the use of empirical formula and numerical simulation method to calculate the upper mining limit, and greater access to the actual situation. Only through in-situ measurement, to obtain specific geological mining conditions of the mine under the true information in order to obtain the actual situation of the mine found the correct data. To this end, this small coal mines in Fujian Province in the first the new technology that upward hole with a multi-stage water underground observation method was used to observe a high degree of fracture of Water, through in-situ construction and arrangement of holes and cracks under the conduction of water with a high degree of observational data analysis and results showed that after two coal face showed continuity with the overlying rock fracture characteristics, top boundary height 43.4m, 3.5m thickness calculated in accordance with mining, mining split ratio of 12.40.
