Hybrid coupled shear wall with steel coupling beams has often been used as load-resisting system of high-rise buildings under lateral loads. However, joint between steel beam and shear wall is under combined and high stress. Reinforcement details of the joint are very heavy. This study addresses the effect of shear wall cement composites type in hybrid wall system on the seismic performance of steel coupling beams embedded in shear wall. The main test variables were the failure mode of steel coupling beam and types of cement composites, such as PSH2C and concrete, for shear wall.

This paper addresses the seismic behavior of pseudo strain hardening cementitious composite (PSH2C) coupling beams with different failure modes in hybrid coupled shear wall. Test variables included the ratio of steel coupling beam strength to beam-wall connection strength. The results show that Specimen PSH2C-SCF exhibits a better stable behavior in comparison with Specimens PSH2C-SBVRT and PSH2C-FCF.

The use of mineral admixture such as fly ash, blast furnace slag and silica fume in making high performance concrete has increased. The objective of this study is to investigate mechanical properties of compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity of hardened high performance concrete.

In this study, some experimental investigations on the development of mechanical properties with age of high performance concrete (HPC) incorporated with blast furnace slag with fly ash or silica fume have been reported. Four different blended HPC were prepared in 0.40 water-binder ratio. At every four mixtures, the compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity at 7 and 28 days have been observed for HPC developments. Consequently, only replacement of silica fume significantly increases the mechanical properties in terms of compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity.

This paper reports an investigation in which the performance of fly ash, blast furnace slag and silica fume high strength concretes were studied under 7 and 28 curing days. Three high strength concrete mixtures were made in this investigation. Mixtures containing 25% fly ash, 25% fly ash and 25% blast furnace slag, and 5% silica fume as cement replacement, respectively. The water-binder ratio of all the high strength concrete mixtures was kept constant at 0.34. The replacement of silica fume in the high strength concrete mixtures indicated higher value of the compressive strength, splitting tensile and modulus of elasticity. In addition, blast furnace slag is effective for strength and modulus of elasticity improvement between 7 to 28 curing days.

This paper addresses the results of an extensive experimental study on the compressive, splitting tensile strength modulus of elasticity in long-term. These tests were carried out to investigate the mechanical properties of HPC for 56 and 91days. In this work, High performance concrete was designed a water-binder ratio of 0.40. In addition, three different concrete mixes were used in these specimens. The results properties of HPC with fly Ash, blast furnace slag and silica fume were effective for compressive strength splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity improvement between 56 to 91 curing days.

Hybrid coupled wall systems, where steel coupling beams couple two or more pseudo strain hardening cementitious composite (PSH2C) shear wall can be used in medium and high-rise construction subjected to earthquake. This paper addresses the panel shear strength of steel coupling beams - PSH2C shear wall connection. Test variables included the connection detail in hybrid coupled shear wall system. The results show that Specimens PSH2C-PSFF and PSH2C-PSFFT exhibits greater panel shears strength than Specimen PSH2C-PSF.

Recently, hybrid coupled shear system, where steel coupling beam couple two or more RC shear walls are frequently applied for medium and high-rise building subjected to earthquake. This paper addresses the seismic performance of PSH2C wall - steel coupling beam with stud bolts in the connection region. Test variables included stud bolts in embedded steel coupling beam and types of material, such as PSH2C and concrete, in the wall. The results show that PSH2C wall – beam connections (PSH2C-ST and PSH2C-SB) exhibit better hysteretic response than normal concrete wall – beam connections (HCWS-ST and HCWS-SB).

Test variables included the connection detail and types of material, concrete and PSH2C, in the connection region. The results show that Specimen PSH2C-SB and PSH2C-SBVRT exhibits a better stable behavior than Specimens HCWS-SB and HCWS-SBVRT.
