Abstract

The promotional effect of nickel additive on the catalytic performance of the representative FeVO 4 /TiO 2 for NH 3 -SCR reaction is systematically studied for the first time in the present work. The experimental results showed that NO x conversion at low temperature and N 2 selectivity could be significantly improved by Ni doping and 0.4Ni-FeV-Ti exhibited the highest NO x removal efficiency. Analysis by XRD, SEM/HR-TEM, Raman, TPD, DRIFTS, TPR and XPS showed that nickel doping effectively promoted the interaction of FeVO 4 nanoparticles with TiO 2 , consequently resulting in an enhanced acidity property, improved redox activity and giving rise to the formation of the surface oxygen vacancies and defect sites.

Abstract

Pt/Ce 0.27 Zr 0.73 O 2 and Pt/Ce 0.27 Zr 0.70 La 0.03 O x catalysts, prepared by co-precipitation and impregnation methods, were thermally treated at different temperatures for 10 h and then characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), H 2 temperature-programmed reduction (H 2 -TPR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and soot temperature-programmed oxidation (soot-TPO). Due to thermal effect on the structural and textural properties, the aged catalysts show increased reduction temperatures. But, interestingly, more H 2 consumption is detected, which would be ascribed to the increased mobility of bulk oxygen and surface lattice oxygen. The promoting and synergistic roles of Pt in H 2 -TPR are discussed and it reveals that the sintering and encapsulation of Pt would weaken the H 2 spillover mechanism and the addition of La is beneficial to stabilize the synergistic effect between Pt and Ce. On the other hand, a humble role of Pt on promoting soot oxidation activity is found in this study. Not all oxygen species available in H 2 -TPR can be used for soot oxidation. The deactivation of the aged catalysts is closely related to the reduction temperature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
