The article reports on a rescue mission that was successfully accomplished in Gulf of Oman. USNS Concord (T-AFS 5) received a distress signal on June 23 from the motor vessel Green Glory. They launched in KnightRider (KR) 62 at 0840 on June 24. At 0910, they made a pass to assess the situation. The ship already was decks-awash and was taking rolls up to 40 degrees. They found their rescue options to be limited extremely by the severity of the sea state and the rolls the ship was taking. The situation deteriorated throughout the day. At the sinking ship, the rescue swimmers were working to remove the 27 survivors from the vessel and place them in life rafts. Finally after long hours all of them were saved.
