The article focuses on two Roman handles that were excavated from Walbrook in London, England. The first handle was in bone and it was discovered on the Bank of England Redevelopment site in 1928-1934, and it was carved from a single piece of bone of unidentifiable species and type. On the other hand, the second handle was found in Walbrook in 1934 and it was carved from a single piece of ivory. According to the article, bone handles were used with knives with single-sided, slender blades, while the ivory handles represent the products of a centralized group of workshops or related workshop groups.
