De Gournay's new Los Angeles residence is a captivating space that combines hand-painted papers and hand-embroidered fabrics to create a fantasy-like atmosphere. The house, which serves as a pied-à-terre for the family of Claud Cecil Gurney, the founder of de Gournay, is open by appointment to select clients and showcases the company's designs in a living portfolio style. The interiors of the house were carefully designed by de Gournay's own team to reflect the light and landscape of Southern California, with the dining room featuring Mughal Trees, a wall covering adorned with raffia threads, beadwork, and other appliqués. The ceiling of the dining room showcases Dawn Chorus, a stitched pattern of songbirds in flight around a radiant sun. [Extracted from the article]
