- Abstract
BiVACOR's Total Artificial Heart has been successfully implanted in a patient at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in the Texas Medical Center. The patient survived with the device for 8 days before receiving a heart transplant. This success stemmed from collaboration between BiVACOR Inc. and a team of cardiac surgeons at the Texas Heart Institute, including William E. Cohn, M.D., and Oscar H. Frazier, MD., (© 2024 International Center for Artificial Organs and Transplantation and Wiley Periodicals LLC.)
