Abstract: This paper provides an overview of some key aspects of anthroposophical music therapy (AnMt) 1 [1] For lack of an official abbreviation, this abbreviation was created by the author of this paper. including two expert practitioner perspectives about this widely practiced approach. AnMt''s theoretical complexity and the features of its practices are endeavoured to be revealed. As a qualified non-anthroposophical music therapist who prior to her training worked in an anthroposophical community alongside AnMt practitioners, the author proposes to use this article to provide an information bridge between the AnMt tradition and other music therapy approaches in which the tenets of AnMt are little known. Some of the concepts described here include a. the use of intervals and planetary scales in AnMt, b. the diagnostic process, and c. deliberations about the prescriptive side of the AnMt approach. A close examination of the literature along with excerpts from interviews recorded with expert practitioners in AnMt is intended to reveal and introduce some of the basic tenets of the anthroposophical music therapy approach. Abstract: This paper describes a theoretical model for conceptualizing art therapy through an integrative multilayered prism that ecologically “layers” dynamic, humanistic, systemic, and social understandings of art, therapy, and people. The result is a systemic but multifaceted model for the teaching of art therapy and the implementation of its theory. The “depth” of art therapy is the multifaceted character of art that enables multiple interpretations simultaneously, concurrent with the eclectic and complex realities of today''s clients. Combining art therapy and mindfulness in meeting the needs of refugees and asylum seekers is a novel innovation. This paper presents the integration of these approaches, and draws on examples from a short term art therapy and mindfulness meditation studio group, named Inhabited Studio . Art therapy and mindfulness are demonstrated to complement each other, and where there are points of divergence these are indicated. Consideration is given to how these approaches can be combined to help individuals build strategies for safety, support resilience, and work with multiple levels of loss, after extreme and traumatic experiences. The article considers eleven features of the combination of art therapy and mindfulness meditation. Results of implementation of the treatment approach indicate that, when combined, mindfulness and art therapy address different aspects of the individual experience, and social context, through engagement in processing. Little research on dance/movement therapy (DMT) programs for childhood sexual abuse survivors has been reported. This paper presents the results of a DMT program designed to address the adaptive issue of building healthy relationships with the self and others among Chinese childhood sexual abuse (CSA) survivors. The program emphasizes development of a sense of security and the setting of appropriate boundaries, along with the concepts of place and space. Twenty-five female Chinese CSA survivors (age range 25-52 years) attended a five-session two-hour weekly DMT program in Hong Kong. The General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), Courtauld Emotional Control Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and Stagnation Scale (SS) were administered before (T0), after (T1), and five weeks after the sessions (T2) to measure the program's potential effects. Qualitative feedback was also collected from the participants to better understand their experiences during the program. Analysis of the quantitative data showed changes with small effect sizes in the GHQ, RSES, and Overattachment subscale of the SS but no changes reached statistical significance. The qualitative feedback from the participants demonstrated the program's positive effects to be related primarily to its therapeutic elements. Participants reported finding their inner rhythm and space, developing greater awareness of personal boundaries, enhanced understanding of relationships, and hopes for a better future. Introducing and exploring the concepts of place and space in the DMT program not only provided the participating CSA survivors with a concrete and direct bodily experience but also helped them to articulate physical experiences with a sense of security, freedom, and boundaries. Abstract: In 1991 the Baltic nation of Estonia peacefully achieved independence from the Soviet Union. The arts played a significant role throughout this historic process and they continue to be an important in contemporary Estonian society. Out of these roots, there is growing academic and professional focus on the uses of creativity to facilitate health, well-being and other therapeutic goals. This paper is based on the author''s experiences as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar teaching at Tallinn University''s Department of Applied Creativity in 2011. It examines recent academic and professional developments in the field of dance/movement therapy and other creative arts therapies in Estonia. It also analyzes the academic, cultural, and economic factors that will likely have significant influence on the future of Estonian dance/movement therapy and creative art therapies. Abstract: This theoretical paper demonstrates how music therapy—and more specifically, community music therapy (CoMT)—can contribute to social justice. CoMT is a creative approach that the liberates expression, potentially empowering people of all ages, races, and statuses to build a better society. It also reveals how the leadership literature presents the concept of service in addressing social justice and how the fields of psychology and sociology of music shed some light on the use of music for social justice. Abstract: This paper is concerned with the dramatic sensibilities of a psychodramatist and how they impact the therapeutic process. A psychodramatic enactment with commentary by the psychodramatist was presented as entrance into this inquiry and as one way to ground the inquiry in current practice. Reflection on the psychodramatic enactment revealed that these dramatic sensibilities had multiple positive impacts on the functioning of the psychodramatist, the protagonist, the therapeutic relationship, and the therapeutic process. It is hoped this will encourage practitioners to value their dramatic sensibilities and to integrate them in with their other clinical approaches and techniques. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
