The article examines intellectual property issues related to aeronautics in China. Aircraft industry companies regard China as a large market for jet transports due to the rapid growth of commercial aeronautics passenger traffic in that country. However, the government is attempting to develop the domestic aircraft industry, and its requirements of technology transfers from foreign corporations operating in the country could lead to foreign companies unwillingly aiding Chinese competitors.
