Abstract

It is found that preschoolers and adults reasoned that the intention of the recipient plays a significant role in the probability of getting sick. This suggests that both groups have a highly sophisticated and selective process when evaluating the effect of psychological factors in the intentionality of illness origins.

Abstract

Children's and college students' recognition of the role of time in the manifestation of causes and cures for illness and injuries are studied. The results suggest that young children have an emergent expectation that biological events are different from non-biological events.
