The pharmacokinetics of prunasin after oral administration of amygdalin or a decoction of peach seeds was determined and compared in rats. A column was used for separation at a column temperature of . The mobile phase consisted of 20% aqueous acetonitrile, and the flow rate was 0.5 mL/min. After oral administration of a decoction of peach seeds, prunasin was absorbed rapidly, reaching a maximum plasma concentration () of 62.1 mg/L within 45 min. After oral administration of amygdalin, the absorption of prunasin was delayed. The of prunasin was 42.9 mg/L and was reached at 60 min. Values for the pharmacokinetic parameters of prunasin, including , , AUC, , CL/F, and V1/F, were significantly different for the oral administration of amygdalin compared with that of a decoction of peach seeds.

36 Ligand L3 is a reduced form of L2, and coordination polymers based on ligand L3 have novel intriguing topologies, consistent with our expectation that free rotations about the Ar-NH, NH-CH2, and CH2-(4-py) bonds may be possible. In other words, our previous work demonstrated that reduced species of diimine ligands possess a greatly enhanced structural flexibility, which may create novel polymers that cannot be obtained from the original rigid diimine ligands. As an extension of that work, we decided to reduce ligand L1 and to prepare coordination polymers by employing the resulting reduced ligand. It is worth noting that ligand L1 is a structural isomer of ligand L2 due to the different nitrogen positions in the terminal pyridyl rings. We report herein the preparation of ligand L, (3-py)-CH2-NH-(CH3)C6H3-C6H3(CH3)NH-CH2-(3-py), and structures of its zinc and cadmium coordination polymers.

In this work, alkyl methacrylate-based microgels were synthesized by an experimental design method, and their sebum absorption characteristics were investigated. The results of fractional factorial experimentation indicated that the cross-linking agent content, solvent content, and stirring speed were the main parameters in the synthesis of the microgels. The suitable synthesis conditions were determined by the response surface design method. Through a study of the monomer and solvent effects, it was confirmed that the microgel shows the highest sebum absorption ratio when t-butyl methacrylate is used as a monomer or when acetone is used as a solvent. The optimal microgel synthesis conditions for cosmetic application were determined, and the resulting microgel had a mean particle size of 4.7 µm and a sebum absorption ratio of 435%.

In this study, poly(iso-butyl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) [poly(iso-BMA-co-EGDMA)] microgel was prepared and used as a face powder additive. The spreading, adhesiveness, and skin reactivity of poly(iso-BMA-co-EGDMA) microgel-containing face powder II were investigated and compared with the same properties of commercially available Silica bead 700-containing face powder I. In the results, the particle size of the poly(iso-BMA-co-EGDMA) microgel was significantly swelled as a result of sebum absorption. Face powder II showed a lower primary irritation index and a higher adhesiveness than did face powder I. Face powder I showed a low sebum absorption ratio and a relatively high rate of sebum absorption, whereas face powder II, contrastingly, exhibited a high sebum absorption ratio and a low rate of sebum absorption, which properties would reduce the phenomena of facial strain and sliminess. These results indicate that poly(isoBMA-co-EGDMA) microgel has outstanding sebum absorption characteristic and adhesiveness, and thus that it is a good candidate for use as a face powder additive.
