The article reports on the 2016 proposal of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to clear the way for additional chemicals to replace hydrofluorocarbons (HCF) which are greenhouse gases used as refrigerants. Topics include the proposal's plan to allow use of more climate-friendly alternatives to HCFs, and the move's goal to dissuade companies from considering methylene chloride as an alternative when they switch away from HCFs.
