This paper analyzes the dynamics of commuting involving Chapecó, city located in western of Santa Catarina state, the aim of investigating the existence of urban agglomeration processes. For this, it uses microdata from IBGE and spatial analysis techniques. The results point to an incipient process, but with increasing trends in the light of changes that are currently occurring in the urban space. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
