This article reflects on the conceptualization of discursive practice in M. Foucault (2004) e D. Maingueneau (1997, 2005), as well as on the debate surrounding techno discursive practices, and performance, within Techno-cultural Discursive Analysis, to discuss research strategies in digital platforms. We formulate a theoretical and methodological approximation to a corpus of tweets, utilizing techniques for processing and extracting posts around the death of Maradona through the critical consideration of different digital platforms. We conclude that the techno discursive practices around Maradona delimit heterogeneous perspectives, in tension with each other: political, geopolitical, and anti-political. Maradona becomes an icon of a Latin American identity that is created and recreated by digital technologies, in a way that mixes the linguistic, the technic, the commercial, the political and the antipolitical. The contact between indigenous and non-indigenous people ('white') has not been a friendly relationship in almost all Brazilian indigenous community, which has brought devastating consequences. Moreover, the presence of indigenous people in the history of this country has been portrayed from an outsider and Eurocentric perspective prompting a stereotyped image. In mass media, the indigenous people have generally been described from a non-indigenous point of view; however, little reflection is made upon the view of indigenous people about this Other. This work aims at displaying, from a discursive view, the indigenous people's perspective on white people, a complete strange being, known as the Other, the different. To incite this reflection, the current study has as its object the narratives that explain the origin and contact with white men for two distinct communities: Timbira (Aukê/Aukeré) and Ikpeng ("Pïrínop my first contact"). The study is based mainly on the theoretical framework proposed by Michel Foucault and his contributions on regularity, discursive formation, discursive practices and hierarchy of knowledge, and power, aiming at recognizing and understanding regularities, in terms of performing enunciative functions, which sustain the discourse event in indigenous narratives in interethnic relations; it also examines the regularities as well as the formulated singularities which underlie the varied practices about the relation of the otherness. Hence, it is expected that this work can reaffirm the importance of preserving existing cultural traditions and indigenous languages in Brazil, as well as promote spaces of circulation of knowledge underestimated by the hierarchy of knowledge, but whose resurrection potential should continuously expand, mainly within a historical context in which the colonialist domination predominates over black people, indigenous people, foreigners, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article discusses the redefinition of black identities in two sambas of African theme from the carioca carnival. It questions and examines how the discursive process of redefinition of black identities occurs in the sambas and which effects result from it. Cultural and Ethnic-racial Studies theories and notions from the Discourse Analysis of French line (DA) are used. Qualitative and interpretative methodological instruments are used for understanding the discursiveness in the sambas. Discourses produce displacements of meaning related to the negritude emergence, to the black individual view about himself and his people and to the discussion of the racial democracy myth. This paper focuses on school practices, from a discursive approach of a presidential decree regarding a plan of educational goals. The theoretical perspective refers to a parallel between the concept of discursive practice (Maingueneau, 1997) and the concept of power formulated by M. Foucault (2002, 2006). The analysis points to the relevance of both notions as a key to the denaturalization of the social, highlighting the simultaneous production of language and world. Discursive representation of events and practices is one of the most frequent activities in human experience. Either in ordinary activities or in specialized ones, representation takes part in different social practices in which people engage themselves, influencing one's particular perspectives on world. This paper discusses the representation and identifi cation of homosexual Brazilian youngsters in Veja magazine - the largest weekly news magazine in Brazil. It is based on CDA approach (Fairclough, 2003; Chouliaraki and Fairclough, 1999), associated with studies about ideology and mass media in Thompson (1998, p. 2002) and identity theory in Hall (2001). Applying analytical categories such as intertextuality, polyphony, presupposition, evaluation and modality (Resende and Ramalho, 2009), it was possible to unveil linguistic structures which establish opposite perspectives between past and present social struggles. Thus it was possible to find that, in spite of bring forth the subject of homosexuality, the magazine shows sexist views which legitimate stereotypes in a veiled way. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Text/discursive genres, literacy and didactic sequences have been so widely employed by teachers/professors and researchers that seem to have become 'magic keys', as Bunzen (2004) mentions while talking about genres. Certainly, when using such concepts, we assume a quest for a more meaningful teaching and learning process, which enables students to act in more conscious and critical ways. That is, we seek to contribute to the students' literacy in several social practices. Nonetheless, the broad use of such terms brings the concern to the risk of a reduction of such notions and even some camouflage, i.e., a new grammar in the text level (Signorini, 2001). Aware of the possible distance between what we want and what we actually do, as professors and researchers coming from a sociodiscursive perspective, we developed an instrument to evaluate didactic sequences focused on writing, which was employed in the evaluation of the material used during the data collection for the doctorate research study of one of us. This tool allows us to critically evaluate our own material and analyze if it can (or can not) collaborate effectively to the students' development of language capacities (Schneuwly and Dolz, 2004) that are needed to act in specific social contexts. This study is an attempt to explore if death, which is here seen as a political category, may occupy the position of a so-called universal category (the term 'universal' is defined later in the article). The approach adopted in this paper is a linguistic/discursive one, taking as a point of departure the analysis of the discursive practices of speakers in situations or contexts in which they have to deal with death and the process of individual or social mourning. The objective of this paper is to discuss the theoretical and practical implications of the use of Internet resources to prepare materials for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. We shall focus on the reading comprehension under the discursive and social-interactional approaches; digital genres; the problem of the didactic transposition and their relation with the classroom work. We also consider the existing differences between the on-line and off-line approaches when it comes to the use of Internet-based texts in the Spanish as a foreign language classroom. The theoretical aspects are exemplified through an exercise of selection of materials and proposal of activities using Internet resources. This proposal is based on the results so-far obtained of a research that has been developed at UERJ about Spanish reading comprehension on digital environments/with digital resources. The paper highlights three aspects: (a) the importance of the preparation and planning of the teaching activities; (b) the need for teachers to maintain their continuous formation in order to benefit from a didactic attitude that is more adequate to their reality; (c) he specificities of the digital environment and their consequences in the teaching process for the development of adequate reading proficiency in Spanish as a foreign language.
