Information about the 54th annual Meeting of the California Geographical Society held at San Diego State University from May 5-7, 2000 is presented. Its primary address was delivered by Dr. Larry Ford. Among the award winning McKnight papers are "Using GIS to Discover Hidden Flood Dangers of the Santa Ana River in the South Coast Basin of California" by Jedediah Fehrenbach, "Newhall Ranch: Urban Sprawl and Land Use Issues," by Andrew Freeman and "Demographics in Echo Park," by Jimmy Dao.
