Abstract

Camellia-like WO 3 ·0.33H 2 O composed of nanosheets were successfully synthesized by the EDTA-assisted hydrothermal method. We find that the WO 3 ·0.33H 2 O of hierarchical architectures is assembled by a number of regular-shaped nanosheets, which are cross-linked in the interior of the micro-camellia. A possible formation mechanism is proposed, based on the nucleation and self-assembly process. Moreover, the products exhibit excellent photocatalytic activity and take possession of good stability and reusability under visible light.

Abstract

Ag 3 PO 4 hollow microspheres (Ag 3 PO 4 -HMs) have been fabricated through a simple direct precipitation method in the presence of tartaric acid. The possible formation mechanisms of oriented aggregation and Ostwald ripening were proposed according to the time-dependent experimental results. Due to the high surface areas, the product of unique morphology exhibits high efficient photocatalytic activity for the photodegradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation.
