The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is challenging the confidentiality assertions made by businesses under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TCSA). The TCSA requires businesses to report their products that pose risk to the environment or health, but allows them to keep the identity of the chemical from the public. Lisa P. Jackson, EPA administrator, plans to make data on commercial chemicals more accessible to the consumers.
