Abstract

A multi-level 3D selenide framework in an In3+–Ge4+ system was synthesized. The interconnection between super-supertetrahedral T2,2 and supertetrahedral T3 clusters via their terminal Se2− leads to a previously unknown hybrid T2,2–T3 linkage mode. The synthetic realization of this material represents another new level of complexity and demonstrates the versatility in the construction and property-engineering of cluster-based semiconducting materials. Abstract

A slow reaction between Nd3+ and piperazine-1,4-dicarbodithiolate disodium (Na2(pipzdtc)) affords a three dimensional (3D) anionic [Nd(pipzdtc)2]nn− framework with a dia net. The encapsulated disordered guest molecules could be partially exchanged by Ni2+ accompanied by the quenching of the typical NIR luminescence of Nd3+ ions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
